Baiko barely noticed the body discoveries. He had been thinking about some facts that snapped together in the wrong way. Okay, try and put everything together.
Fact one: the messages. His team, manager and ex-boyfriend had all expressed missing him, but didnât seem worried.
Fact two: Someone had managed to put together a reasonable excuse for filming messages to all of them. His team couldnât be fooled easily, so whoever filmed them mustâve had a convincing reason.
Fact 3: Because his team wasnât worried, they likely didnât know about the other students being kidnapped. Since the news would be blaring about this, the recording must be old.
Fact four: someone had known about Tachi. He kept that information close to his chest. He wouldâve only told someone he trusted, orâŚ
He sighed, and came to some conclusions. Hopeâs Peak wouldâve had access to his background check, a reason to film his team, and easy access to a location to hold them.
but that left a problem. This level of control⌠it was theoretically possible with two abominations and some security cameras, but for some of the specific stuffâŚ
Fact five⌠he didnât want to admit it butâŚ
he tapped the nearest personâs shoulders. âOne of us is a traitor.â He stated. âIâm 95 percent sure.â
Amarente was still rather shaken by the murders. Having someone die in front of you wasnât necessarily a pleasant experience, especially not for someone like her. Her expression was still vague and distant, her vibrant personality not quite there.
The messages had been interesting, if not disturbing. She had sworn she would never see that face or hear that voice again⌠how had they found him in connection to her? The family she was currently living with had no impact on her; their words were empty. Yet, how they had acquired such recordings were still perplexing.
When the boy spoke, it grabbed her attention. Her normal presence, while fizzled out, reentered into the scene somewhat.
âA traitor? Surely you must be fucking around with us, right? Who in their right mind would go out of their way to help that in this mess of a game?â
Her voice rang out in tones of disbelief. The thought of someone helping out these monsters was terrifying.
