Rose Tide Rising

Roha charges towards Hashel, looking angry, eyes black. Behind him, Colt outstretches a hand, face concerned, and shouts, "Captain- she means to bait you-"

2. Hashel cocks her head to the side, face covered by her veil. "Relax, Roha," she says. "I'm just here to enjoy the festival, the same as every other pirate on this sea-"

3. "Ack-!" Hashel gasps, Roha grabbing her by the throat. His eyes are black, face angry. Hashel's veil flutters up to reveal some of the bulging, lidless green eyes scattered across her face. Roha says "I warned you what would happen if I ever saw you again." His speech bubble is white.

4. An off-screen voice says, "Been a long time, Roha." A sword is held to Roha's throat. He is glancing to the source of the voice, irate. In the foreground, his hand grips Hashel's throat tightly. Her now exposed face looks panicked.

5. "Cori. You're all grown up," Roha says, as we now see the woman holding the sword to him. He looks unfazed, glaring at Hashel, who struggles against his grip on her throat. Cori, the same pirate we saw with Hashel in episode 94, looks stressed. She says, "Let her go. Now!!"

6. "No. I think I'll kill her," says Roha, still focused on Hashel. "It's still true that Fateseers can't see their own deaths, right Hash?" he asks. "I'll make it a fun lil surprise."

7. We see Hashel's face again, smiling despite the hand on her throat. "Lower your sword, Cori," she instructs. Cori looks stunned, exclaiming, "What?! No!" Hashel continues, "He doesn't die today. You're only wasting your energy."

8. Colt appears at Roha's shoulder, with a hand outstretched to caution him. "Captain-" he starts, but Roha interrupts, "Go find our crew, Colt." Colt balks, "Wh-? I'm not leaving you, sir!"

9. In a close up view of Colt's face, Roha says, "Warn them that there's Lunatics about." Colt's expression is conflicted and sad as he says, "But... I..." While Roha cuts him off, "It's an ORDER, Colt. GO."

10. "Aye, Captain," says Colt as he slumps away, looking glumly at the floor. He passes Hashel, who watches him go with her many green eyes. They all glow in interest. She smiles and says, "...Huh."

11. We see Colt walking away in the background. Hashel looks at Roha, smiling manically. "So much anger in that Black Heart," she says. "It's no wonder somebody poisons you."

12. A close up on Roha's face. His black eyes are wide, his mouth slightly open in surprise. A bead of sweat runs down his face. From offscreen, Hashel says, "Oh, come now. I know you asked me not to tell you - but that was six years ago! Don't tell me you STILL don't want any details? Aren't you curious?"

13. A close up on Hashel's face. She looks pleased to see Roha affected by her words. She says, "There's a poetic irony to it, wouldn't you say? After what you did to Muin. Ishki told me all about that, Cook's Boy. But it doesn't look like your poison will be ingest-"

14. The same close-up of Hashel's face, but with her eyes wide and mouth open in pain. Roha's hand is squeezing her throat tightly.

15. "L-let her go!" Shouts Cori from off-screen, on a close up of Roha's face. He glances sideways at Cori.

16. A close up of Cori's face. She looks terrified, visibly shaking. "Now!" She demands.

17. We fade into a sketchy red flashback of Cori's face, now a young teenager. She sits with her knees to her chest, holding a long blanket around her. Her face looks frightened. A voice off screen says, "Hey, it's okay. Don't be scared."

18. We see Cori is hiding under a table on the Eclipse. Roha crouches beside her, himself a slightly older teenager, smiling and offering his hand. Behind them, through a cannon window, lightning flashes. "You're our new crew member, right?" Asks Roha. "The first storm at sea is always the scariest." Cori still looks frightened. "Will... Will we sink?" She asks.

19. A close-up to Young Roha's face. He smiles very kindly. "Haha, not likely," he says. "But if we do, I'll swim you to shore. How 'bout I sit under here with you for a while?"

20. Cori's face again, looking relieved. She smiles, "O-okay."

21. The flashback fades back to present day, Roha looking at Cori with a conflicted expression. "...You'd die for this fraud, Cori?"

22. "I-if I die today, before my prophecy, that would make me a fatebreaker!" Cori shouts, trembling with fear. "It would be an honour!"

23. A wider shot of Roha, staring at Cori with an unreadable expression. Cori, holding the sword to his throat, looking terrified. Hashel, still struggling against Roha's grip on her throat. None of them speak.

24. Roha's hand releasing a sputtering Hashel. A concerned Cori rushes to her side, crying, "Hashel! Are you okay?"

25. Roha walks past the women, warning, "Tell Ishki to stop stalking me." Over his shoulder, we see Cori comforting Hashel, who is half turned to watch Roha go. Hashel says, "I told you, we're just here for the festival."

26. Cori and Hashel are now alone. Cori says, "That was so stupid, Hash! He could have KILLED us! AND we lost the advantage of surprise!" Hashel calmly responds, "We gained a far greater advantage."

27. Hashel, now veiled again, stands in front of a puzzled Cori. "I saw exactly how we acquire the Fatebreaker," says Hashel. "And better than that... I saw how few future moments he has left."

28. No image, just a Hashel speech bubble. "This time next month, Roha will be dead."
