How the new Odyssey movie sounds to me based off of what I’ve seen on tumblr
teamwork makes the dream work. and dreamwork. makes shrek
fantastic. i love it. i posted this after my wife said it yesterday and as i was doing it i was like "this can't be an original thought. as soon as i hit post someone's going to say 'you stole this from a tweet from 2014' and i'll say 'no, i stole it from my beautiful wife.'"
Hi, I am like a fledgling blender user, just curious how do you set up scenes in blender with your 2D characters? It's super cool and I'd like to take a crack at it eventually myself!
Thanks for being an inspiration!
I still don't know a lot of things myself honestly ! I just do silly things with my old 2.79
1. I create a plain ol' plane
2. I set up the material to allow for the transparency - this can differ depending on what renderer is used
3. I grab my transparent png and uv map it to where i want
And that's it! Hope it helps a little! I don't work in actual modern versions of blender a lot, so the flow may be slightly different.
For more in-depth to my rambling method of animating with these, I made a long video here.. pardon my bad writing and voice
do you have a tag for when you do tutorials? like when you explained how you pick colours?
ah no unfortunately, my tagging system is a complete mess and i haven't really tagged at all for my resources and tutorials
i suppose i should just..start!
----------
-color adjustment with gradient maps
-'paper' animation in blender (general steps)
-'paper' animation in blender (rambling yt video)
-general animation steps i take
it's difficult to find my brushes ask post so i'll just put the diagram here (procreate only)

[Artfight 2023] [14]
Corrupted One
for @verdant-succubus
Some people have been interested in how this was made - I am extremely bad at explaining but I’ll try to give a quick rundown!
First I draw the individual parts in a 2d art program, in this case procreate. I put an overlay texture that gives it some grittiness. As you can see I separated out the parts I planned to move a little bit, like the top and bottom jaw, eyes, wings, and body segments.
Each part of the texture is applied to a 2d plane through uv maps with the exception of the halo, which is 3d modeled.
The 2d planes are layered in a way that will create shadow when a light is added and avoid overlaps when rendered. This also really lends to the papercut aspect!
Animation for this particular piece is done through something called “shape keys” where blender will interpolate movement based on me slightly moving the individual parts.
I created several keys for different areas of motion. When all are combined it creates a nice effect. Some parts move smoother than others - this is due to me setting some keys to be “constant” instead of “bezier smoothed”.
(Oh also the halo is just rotated on an axis - 3d go brrrrr)
After rendering all the frames into a gif, I then threw it into a video editor to make the colors more contrasted and to add slight glitching and behold! Final product!
Hopefully that helps out some for people who want to try it. Or for people who are just curious!

helloooo, I was just wondering how you pick colors/ how you alter them to look so pleasing, I really admire your ability to make your colors look so cohesive... help a lad out please! <3
A really big thing that has helped me is utilizing many layers of gradient maps of different layer blends! Lots of art programs have the gradient mapping feature, I use procreate!
Over time, I feel like my base color picking has also improved naturally in adhering to color theory as you develop an eye for what colors feel "right" together
this poem is about being nonbinary.

Hopefully not too hot of a take but...
People are so used to LBTQ topics in media being kept hush and subtle and in context clues, that I see a rise of people getting angry at other fellow queer people and non queers for "not seeing the queer thing" in the still very symbolic expression of a piece of media.
Don't get mad and yelling at people who dont see your obvious. Symbolism is different for everyone and it's easy to project your own queerness onto it because it's just so close to you. But other people project their own situations onto symbols. That's why it's STILL SUBTLE
Take your anger and point it at the industry that is too chicken to show us the gay kiss, the "I think I'm actually a girl" and the "I love you".
Cishets get their reality and emotion on full volume and Queers deserve that too!
Hi 👋🙂 I’ve been following you on here for years and I’m such a fan of your art. A short while ago while I was in Tokyo I picked up an artbook I came across randomly and thought looked cool. and just now I was looking through it and thought “oh choodraws’ art would be perfect for this!” And then. There you were 😆😊 I was so excited, I had to share! I mean you know your art is in this 😆, but for me it was a total wonderful surprise hehe
aw this is sweet, thanks for sharing! yeah i don't think i ever mentioned that some of my work was included in this book but i was really stoked to be featured next to so many other great artists. it's a really fun retro styled collection of work, lots of great stuff in there!
