Our fun PE teachers put out an "Exotic Fruits & Veggies Challenge" to our elementary schoolers. SO MANY kids have started sending in pictures of themselves eating things like star fruits, dragon fruits, cacti, etc., that I just had to join in! All I could find on short notice was a pomegranate... and I've only ever had the juice, so I thought eating the fruit would count for something!

Has anyone done something similar at their school?

No! I haven't received anything else in the mail, teacher buddy! I'll definitely keep an eye on my mailbox, though.

I've been out of habit with Tumblr, unfortunately. And I feel terrible for my own teacher buddy because I'm hand-making something, it's taking forever, and I haven't sent anything over yet! EEP! I had better send some little things other soon.

Parent-teacher conferences were last week, and I tried something new this year. At the end of each conference, I gave the parents a piece of paper and a white crayon and asked them to write a message and/or draw a picture for their student. Then this week, I gave out the papers and had the kids paint with watercolors to find the message. The kids were absolutely wowed by this!

(I did have a couple of parent no-shows, so I wrote a message for those students myself, and told them so. They seemed just as thrilled!)
