I've been a reading whump on here for a couple years now but finally decided to give writing a go!

A few of my favorite tropes are: Kidnapping/captivity, restraints, rescues, environmental whump, and anything that puts whumpee in the hospital

I'm looking forward to getting more involved in the community!

Pt. 1

Whumpee had been through this rigmarole enough times by now they knew better than to pop awake. Careful not to move visibly, they kept their eyes closed as they catalogued what injuries Villain had given them this time. It hurt to breathe. There was a gap where a tooth used to be. Waves of pain pulsed across their face from a broken nose, but what was stranger to Whumpee was the gauze taped over it. Once they noticed that, they realized just how much there was: on their nose, their forehead, wrapped around their stomach. Their arm felt like it was in a sling. Villain never gave them this much medical attention.

Whumpee didn’t know if Villain had kidnapped them with the intention of getting another lackey, or if they only wanted someone to torment, but it didn’t matter. Staying stuck in that torture chamber was so much worse that it didn’t take much to break Whumpee’s moral backbone. They knew that probably made them a coward, but the only other option was to rot away until there was nothing left of them. It’s not like Whumpee ever had to directly hurt someone, anyway. Villain liked to use them for menial work they couldn’t be bothered to do themselves. It didn’t entirely save them from Villain’s torment, but it had improved their quality of life enough. Surely anyone would have broken eventually, under their circumstances.

Whumpee heard voices around them. They were speaking in jargon too frantically for Whumpee’s scrambled brain to keep up, but there were at least three of them. Doctors? That meant they couldn’t possibly be back in Villain's lair, but they couldn’t think of anywhere else Villain would be willing to take them after they were punished. 

Their train of thought was interrupted when they were suddenly jostled, sending pain shooting through their whole torso in a way that had them biting back a scream. Their bloodshot eyes popped open, and their vision swam until it locked onto a brightly colored uniform.

Hero??

Whumpee was half convinced they were going crazy, until they took in the medical van around them. They were strapped to a gurney with uniformed medical staff swarming around them while Hero stayed sat in the corner. One of them was carefully removing the sharp bits of glass from Whumpee’s hair. Villain was nowhere in sight.

Pt.2

Villian had managed to slip through the Hero's fingers again,

but they did capture their henchman.

Hero's team had been fighting Villain for years, but still had no clue how their crew worked. They had no right-hand man, only cycled through henchmen that Hero's team couldn't identify. Every now and then a new one would pop up, but they never lasted long. 

Until one day, when Hero’s team finally chased the villain’s copter long enough that it began sputtering and running out of fuel. Sidekick had identified it was only them and their newest lackey in the vehicle, but with both them and the copter at stake, Hero didn’t think the villain would simply abandon them both and fly away. They would be forced to land soon to prevent a crash. 

Except apparently that was exactly what they decided to do. Hero watched as the pilot’s side door popped open, Villain sped away, and the copter that Hero knew still had a person in it went hurtling towards the ground. 

Sidekick zoomed after Villain while Hero took over trying to stop the copter crash, catching it just in time but still making for a rough landing. Hero had no doubts it wouldn’t fly anymore, but was much less sure about what they would find of the henchman inside. 

After it settled, they pried open the mangled passenger side door and saw Henchman’s scrawny form laying slack over the controls in front of them. Hero took in the dripping blood and shattered glass around them and let out a silent prayer as they felt for a pulse. 

This one was still alive somehow. 

Hero immediately pinged for medical help to get to the scene, and began searching for where all this blood was coming from. They had to stop the flow before the henchman lost so much they would die anyway. 

If they could take this lackey in for questioning, they might finally be able to get the information they desperately needed to find the villain and their base. 

Careful not to jostle their neck, Hero eventually spotted a wicked shard of glass sticking out of Henchman’s abdomen. It had apparently shot into them at an angle, which left a long gash behind it but thankfully prevented the shard from sticking in too deep. Hero pressed their palms onto the wound around the glass to stifle some of the bleeding and waited until their medical team arrived.

After wrapping the henchman's wound, securing their neck, and getting them onto a gurney, the medical team began locking cuffs into place and searching for any missed injuries. As Hero got news from Sidekick that the villain had escaped yet again, their crew gently cut Henchman’s shirt off to check for any abdominal bruising.

Only to reveal that they were absolutely covered in scars the Hero could only imagine being caused by irrefutable torture.
