If your master ordered you to do something really mean and humiliating, like act as her footstool or lick the dirty floor, would you abandon your pride and do it?
Of course! Iâll do anything Master asks of me, anything at all! If Master is so kind to acknowledge me, I donât care what she asks me to do; I must repay her kindness!
ooc; returning to a hiatus
So I've just started school last week and my course load is a lot tougher than I thought it would be. Until I can adjust to this much work again, I won't be rping for some time. My apologies to anyone's who's been kept waiting since my last hiatus, but I really need to focus on my studies this year.
Thank you for your patience.
Recantation
Phew. While he would have been okay acknowledging it, he was glad she didnât bring up past stuff. That meant it was certainly okay to leave it behind them!
"Since you did so yourself, I should probably add that I was a piece of Lady Lambdadelta-samaâs." he decided to add.
"Iâve heard a lot about you, Lady Erika, and Iâve always wanted to meet you ever since Master-sama had me read the golden games for the first time when I was her piece. You could say iâm a fan of sorts. Though donât expect me to start stalking you all the time," he added with a light chuckle.
"So, what is it you do now that youâre the Witch of Truth? I mean, obviously youâre still a detective and solve mysteries and whatnot, but anything else different now that youâve acquired this realm?"
Erika eyed him warily. "Lady Lambdadelta told you about the Golden Game? I didn't think it was a tale worth recounting."
She didn't like to dwell on the thoughts of her defeat very often. It only brought shame and humiliation to mind, and a burning desire to find Battler and Beatrice and rip their happy ending to pieces.
But alas. That wasn't exactly an option. She did lose, after all.
"Thank you for yourâ" what exactly could she call it? Erika paused for a minute, searching for a word. "âinterest." She finished. "The only thing that becoming a Witch has changed is I can't be killed as easily, along with several other abilitiesâ but it mostly means that I sit around here and wait for visitors, since I can't leave. It's not exactly fun."
"Ah? So I just wander trough some fragments and fall in here?
Such a coincidence don´t you think? Nice to meet you Erika Furudo, witch of truth. You can call me  Ushiromiya Battler.â
The irony in his voice was rather stinging. He behaved like they never ever met on purpose to mock her a bit. Of course it was unecessary to introduce himself and act like beeing a stranger. Yet theoretically they really never met. Or to be more precise, the first time erika met this battler. But besides the clothes nothung other seemed off to the other battler. How long would she need to find out?
Erika's teeth bared in a contorted grimace. "Well, if it isn't stuuuuuupid Baaaaaaaaatler with his stuuuuuuuupid hair style! Why are you here? Knowing your stupidity, you probably tripped and landed face-first into this fragment."

Color Symbolism
cyborgmosquitoqueen asked fuckyourwritinghabits:
I have been having trouble with symbolism recently. Iâm trying to foreshadow with reoccurring colors relating to different characters and their personalities, because there was this big alien blindness plague. Anyway, Where do I draw the line between being gimmicky and meaningful when it comes to the colors popping up? I donât want my readers to see it as a shortcut, but at the same time the colors are a big part of the theme/ motif and I feel it would be a waste not to use them to add depth.
Our short answer: you draw the line wherever you want to draw the line. Be as colourful and symbolic as you want a fuck anybody who says itâs just cheesy or gimmicky. Color symbolism is fun, easy to recognize, and somewhat nerve-wracking because it feels like the easiest thing to screw up. Take a deep breath; first of all, your idea sounds great, and I think you can really pull it off. Letâs look at a breakdown:
Color Symbolism is deeply rooted in both psychology and culture (which in turn are connected to each other). The Woman in Red is an often repeated trope to indicate (in Western culture) sexuality and danger. A Woman in White in Western culture, on the other hand, tends to represent purity and innocence. People learn this growing up through media; their brain instantly recognizes it even if they donât consciously think about it.
One of the more obvious comparisons is Gandalf the Grey versus Gandalf the White. Gandalf the Grey was a more complex (and arguably interesting) character with more challenging motives, mixed morals, and more dealing with self-doubt. Gandalf the White became a symbol of virtue and justice; his actions were always made for the right intentions and kept to higher morals. (LOTR folks donât kill me if this is wrong, I read those books/watched the movies years ago.)
Want more color symbolism? Look at the Hogwarts Houses and what those houses stand for. The red and gold of Gryffindor to represent bravery, the silver and green of Slytherin to represent ambition and cunning. Are they obvious? Maybe, but itâs not like Rowling was trying to hide it. Are they gimmicky? I would argue no, because thereâs so much more about the places besides the colors.
If youâre truly worried, make sure the colors youâre picking match the associations you have with them, and make sure your characters arenât just represented by their colors. The symbolism is to strengthen your theme and better connect the reader; it has to be backed up with characterization and reasons to believe in that symbolism. You can totally do this; donât doubt yourself!

"Are all witches not wicked by nature?"
A small frown creased Wendyâs lips. It hadnât been the first time something betrayed the image sheâd had of something in her head, but she was mostly used to knowing exactly how things worked.Â
âŚnot that it mattered. It was nothing to dwell on.
"In any caseâŚthis must be your Hell. Or is it mine?"
Didnât look like hers. Probably wasnât. She seemed to be getting tugged around a lot lately. How very complicating.
"Assuming that an entire group of creaturesâespecially ones capable of intelligenceâ have the same natures and traits is not only illogical, it's completely bias and has no foundation."
Forcing her face into a content expression, she said, "I'm sorry, what is your name? I don't think you've introduced yourself."
Hell? That was a bit harsh. Although the Meta-world was boring and lonely, it could certainly be a lot worse. Erika chose not to comment on it.

Recantation
âŚIt must have been more than a century. Sakana knew he hadnât seen her since the Art Gallery incident. Before Purgatory, even. He mused on it for a while, noting how much heâd changed between the first and second times he met her, in comparison to that same second time and now. it had been so long. So much had changed. So very, very much. And he wasnât even sure if this was the same Erika as back then.
So to that end, upon finding her, he decided to introduce himself as though theyâd never met. To start over. To pretend they never happened. To recant their past meetings, because at this rate he was a completely different being anyways. If she brought up the past, it was fine, but he wouldnât.
"Hello, blue-haired one. I am Sakana, unofficial Voyager Witch and Emerald Sorcerer of Epiphany. You seem interesting - who might you be?"
Nothing dulled Erika's nearly infallible memory quite like a long, long nap. Although she was quite good with remembering details, that didn't tend to apply when she took naps that lasted for years. She did recall this sorcererâ a distant memory of accepting some challenge form him came to mindâ but she didn't remember much else. She decided to do as he did: reintroduce herself and disregard whatever had happened before she had fallen asleep.
"Welcome, Emerald Sorcerer. I am Erika Furudo, the Witch of Truth, piece of the great witch Bernkastel, and the Detective of the Golden Game." Erika curtsied. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"âŚIf you choose to believe so." Â
"Very well.. Â I remember one of my cases was about a young cross dressing boy that was murdered in a girlâs locker room. Â Quite the interesting case."Â
"Really? How was he killed? Did you find the culprit? What was the motivation to kill? How many suspects were there? How long had he been dead when you found him?" Questions poured out of Erika's mouth before she stopped herself. Speaking without thinking was a bad habit she had yet to keep under control.
"I apologize for all the questions, Ms. Kirigiri. It's been so long since I've heard a decent story. There's nothing to do here but to sit and wait for visitors." Erika smiled again, resting her chin on her hand and leaning forward. "I've been asleep for a while, and you're one of the first people to have found me since I woke up."
"A wicked witch? Of truth? Seems contradictoryâŚ"
She hadnât exactly said âwicked,â though. Not that it made much difference.
Erika stiffened, slightly irritated. "My apologies, but I don't think I've done anything to warrant being called wicked. How does my being a witch affect the credibility of my title?"

"Yes. Â I am a student who excels in being a private investigator."Â
"I conduct investigations on anything ranging from homicide to theft."Â
"Interesting. I never had the fortune of meeting a fellow detective here." Erika said. She absolutely refused to acknowledge Willard as a proper detectiveâ mostly out of spite. "Much less a student who is also a private investigator." she examined Kyouko, sizing her up. "You must be very intelligent."
"I hope you'll be able to amuse me for a bit, since you're already here. Would you mind telling me about one of your cases? Any one will do."

Cold eyes held nothing compared to the joy her piece had shown
â⌠Hello Erika.â The black tail flicked with mild interest- which rarely showed any at all. âWhere exactly is everyone. Have they all gone and rotted away in the sea..?âÂ
Erika's smile faltered for a minute. "I'm not exactly sure where they went. Everyone disappeared after the Game ended. However, there are some visitors that come through occasionally. Either way, it's a lot quieter without that incompetent fool and Beatrice arguing all the time."
And a lot lonelier with everyone else gone, but she wouldn't admit that. It'd be nice if some people came back, if only to fill up the silence.
