Blue Sky Original Soundtrack

Wow, it’s been a long while, but I got a new software and I think it finally has that Portal sound I was looking for.

I guess this is the official end of my hiatus. Here’s what I’ve been working on in the mean time. This track is meant to play when Wheatley steps out into the sun for the first time. It’s not finished, but I wanted to go for more of an ambient sound for this one.

As you can tell in the title, I'm going to be honest here. The music does not sound right to me. It doesn't sound "Portal" enough, and don't know why. I need to find a music software that sounds much better than MuseScore. I also just feel that what I write isn't good enough. I need help.

Hello, everyone! I just want to announce that I am going on indefinite hiatus on the soundtrack. The reason behind this is because I want to focus on my writing my Garret Rickey POV fanfic and I wish to get a better microphone for recording the vocal songs.

YESSS I figured out was missing.

Found a new soundfont that sounds wayyy better than the first one I had.

It made this song sound even sadder than it was the first time. ;-;

I will also be reuploading the final versions of The Terrible Idea today and the reivsed version of Wheatley’s Theme soon.

AKA Pain in the Neck to Write

Man, this song has given me a head ache for three months now, but it is DONE SON. It was really fun to write this though, I hope you enjoy.

I aspired to write the musical equivalent of this quote from Chapter 5:

Hi guys! Newsflash, I've had a rare boost in creativity this week, so I'm going to lay out my plans.

The two songs I am going to be working on are Wheatley's Theme and Stargazing. These two have rough drafts already. However, I also am going to try to work on Garret's Theme as well. This will also have a Concept Post for it. Then, I will release all three at once with YouTube videos and links.

I hope to finish the two songs this weekend with Garret's Theme done next week.

I know this is pretty ambitious, especially for lazy old me, but I want this done so I can move on to other pieces. All songs will get an individual post once I finish them.

WARNING AHEAD BE SPOILERS

Woohoo, I just love it when I wake up and get new ideas. I’ve been feeling kind of down lately, and have been finding solace in some songs about heart-wrenching moments. Well, you can’t get more heartwrenching when your main character is about to die. Yeah… These two songs are actually two versions of the same song, played two different ways. The first is much more abrupt and somber as it is the “death” of Core!Wheatley in Chapter 2. Everyone pretty much knows he’s okay who’s read this story, but it’s still sad. The second however, is much more longing and melancholy. I feel it would be played in the background during Wheatley’s conversation with Caroline. It would be much more emotional because this is when he has sacrificed himself to win Chell and Eaden’s freedom and lives. He literally believes he is going to die. And this is the part where readers also think he is going to die. This is why Wayward Fool, Wayward Son will be different in that it will be sung.

That’s going to be fun… Unlike Only Human, who is specifically Glados, I just pictured it sung by a woman. It’s not Cara Mia material mind you, no Italian, the lyrics are in English, but I wanted to add something a little more personal. Yeah…
