Autumn
The grey hues of the clouds above only seemed to be darkening as the day went on. There was an autumn chill in the air, lightly grasping at the waves of the sea and the blades of grass, situated at the base of the tower whenever it danced through the space.
Drops of rain had begun to fall; lightly enough to smear against the giant window panes of the top level of the tower but not enough that the thrumming patter sound had started to bounce off of the glass.
Kory raised her head from her loverâs chest as she sat, snuggled up against his side. Her emerald orbs focused on the weather outside and suppressed a shiver from wracking her body.
She wasnât cold of course; her immunity to weather extremes made sure of that.
But, the miserableness of the outside world had that kind of effect; to make her want to get all cozy with a loved one.Â
All of Earthâs seasons held a special place in her heart for separate reasons, with summer reigning supreme on account of how much the sunshine and heat reminded her of Tamaran.
However, there was something about Fall that made her smile involuntarily. It was what humans referred to as âsweater weatherâ; something akin to being warm and comfy at home whilst a wet and windy storm raged outside.Â
I have absolutely no words, this was such a treat to read!! Iâm dying it was cute and hot and adorable and AUTUMNY I LOVE đđđđđ˝đđ˝

There was nothing that Dick Grayson liked more than an early morning sparring session.
He was always up at the crack of dawn â regardless of how late his night activities would go â downing his healthy breakfast that consisted of cooked egg whites, a banana, and a protein rich smoothie, before heading out the door with his gym bag slung over his shoulder. The warehouse heâd purchased â now proudly repurposed into a massive workout room with various equipment â would be dark and empty when Dick would show up.
By the time any of his other clients would be arriving to his facility, heâd have already done his various stretches and exercises to the point of working up a light sweat.
âEarly bird gets the worm, huh?â
Dick paused. The voice was both familiar and foreign to him at the same time.
âThat is the phrase, I believe.â The sultry, feminine voice was joined by approaching footsteps, a lilt of a purr to her tone.
Stilling his Bo staff in one hand, Dick couldnât help the grin plastered onto his face as he came to recognize his morning intruder.
This was so so SO lovely! Kory being a sexy badass queen? Check. Dick being completely weak for her, looking like an absolute fool? Check. Delicious dickkory content? CHECK. You nailed their banter so brilliantly and you write their chemistry sO BEAUTIFULLY
This is such a sweet bday weekend treat ILY đđĽ°đđâşď¸â¨đđđđđđâŁď¸

a study of separation anxietyÂ
In all his life, Richard John Grayson had found he possessed only four weaknesses. The first was his father and brothers, who were put together because he managed his feelings for them about the same. And Alfred, though truthfully, Dick sometimes felt Alfred was the most important of them all. The second was his team, the people he had grown up with. The third was his wife, whose glimmering eyes never failed to capture his when she walked into a room. And the fourth was his daughter, the light of his life and the greatest source of his joy.
The very same daughter who was unashamedly squirming in his arms and punching him with her tiny fists while he tried to put her to bed.
âEase up there, starshine,â he muttered, wincing as another blow made contact with his shoulder. He rubbed her back gently, pacing back and forth beside her crib. âSome help would be nice, Kory.â
His pajama-clad wife, who had been standing idly near the bedroom door, stepped into the room and shrugged.
âIt is your fault for choosing to go back to work.â
Yeah, she wasnât going to make it any easier either.
Dick groaned and moved to lay Marâi down in the crib.
âI would not do that,â Kory warned, a smug smile crossing her face when their daughter began to wail.
âWell, what would you do then?âÂ
Kory rolled her eyes and stepped closer, adjusting his arms so that he cradled Marâi close to his chest. Miraculously, the wailing stopped, and he looked down to see her tiny fists curling up against his shirt, her head snuggled into his warmth.
âWow,â Dick said quietly, a slow smile spreading across his face, ânine months and I still havenât learned a thing.â
His wife sighed and rested her chin on his shoulder, studying the line of his jaw and the dark stubble he had taken to wearing since Marâi was born.Â
âIt will not get any easier when you go,â she said.Â
âCâmon, Kory, we talked about this. I took an extended paternity leave. Those donât come around too often. I need to get back on the force.â
âYou did not take a break from being Nightwing,â she shot back, âyou have been working this entire time, Richard, you are spreading yourself too thin. It will not be easy for Marâi. Xâhal, it will not be easy for me.âÂ
âWe need to get back into a steady routine. I need to go to work. I need to start shaving so I donât look homeless -â
âYou would not dare,â Kory gasped, sounding horrified.
â - need to get used to me being away for work because we want her to grow up with a somewhat normal life. I canât keep taking vacations, and Iâm not going to quit my job.â
He felt a hand slide up to his shoulder and along his collarbone, coming to touch the stubble at his neck.
âSo,â Kory said softly, âwhat you are saying is, if you went on the paternity leave once again, you would stay home and be with us?â
âAs much as I love the practice, I canât keep getting you pregnant so I can get out of work, Star,â Dick said in amusement, catching her fingers with his hand and bringing them to his lips.Â
She frowned and drew her hand away, âI do not see why not. And I do not see why you must shave your beard.â
âBecause itâs unprofessional.â
âBut the chief has a beard, as does your head detective.â
âAnd thatâs their style, not mine. I have a beard for two reasons. One is sleeping in my arms, soundly, for the first time in weeks. And the other is to entertain your weird beard fetish.â
âIt is not a fetish,â Kory said heatedly, âyou are simply incomparably attractive to me when you wear your facial hair.â
Dick grinned.Â
âI love you, babe. But the beard is gonna go.â
âMarâi will not recognize you without it.â
âYes, she will.â
âFine. Then I will not recognize you without it.â
âOh really?â Dick asked, leaning in to kiss her cheek, âwouldnât you recognize this?â
âI would never allow a stranger to get so close to me,â she replied haughtily, crossing her arms.
He rubbed his jaw teasingly against the side of her face, smirking when he felt her body rumble in response.Â
âEven if they can make you purr like I do?â
Kory blushed and shook her head, dropping her gaze to the sleeping child nestled in her husbandâs arms.
âYou are certain I cannot convince you to stay on the paternity leave?â she asked mournfully, changing the subject before he could tempt her further. The dim glow of the stars they had covered Marâiâs bedroom with lit up the lines of his face marvelously, drawing her into his warm blue eyes.Â
âNot unless you can have a baby in the next few hours.â
âWe can make one,â she tried, widening her eyes pleadingly, âhave you not enjoyed these last few months with us?â
Dick sighed and stepped away from her to settle Marâi into her crib, pleased to see his daughter sleeping soundly.Â
âCome here, Star,â he said softly, bringing his arms around her waist and holding her in a standing snuggle, âI have loved every minute of being with you two. But we both knew it wasnât going to last forever. One of us needs to work to keep up with all the shopping you do with Donna and Babs,â he added cheekily.
âBut -â
âI wonât be going back full-time for at least a month. Half-days and case breaks only. And when Marâi is a little older, Iâll ease into a more regular schedule. Itâll be gradual. And weâll be able to get back into our regular patrols in no time.â
Kory sniffled and buried her face in the curve of his neck, breathing deeply.
âI am sorry,â she said sadly, âI am being unreasonable, and I know that. I just...I will miss you. And I will miss your perfect beard. And I will miss seeing you hold her at all hours of the day. I hate it when we are apart, I am always worried something will happen to you. I never know when to say goodbye.â
Dick sighed and tightened his grasp on her, dropping a kiss on the top of her head.Â
âWe knew what we were getting into when we signed up to be heroes, Star. That much hasnât changed. And I know itâs scary to wonder, but we canât be in this bubble forever. Thatâs not who we are. And thatâs not the kind of example we want to set for Marâi.âÂ
Kory pressed her lips against his jaw, cupping his face with both hands.
âI love you so much,â she said fiercely, âand I will do my best to make this easier for you if you would only just -â
âIâm not keeping the beard, Kory.â
She pouted and unwound herself from him.
âClorbag.â
âI love you too, dearest,â Dick said drily, âit seems your separation anxiety was quick to disappear.â
âThe only separation you need to be concerned for is that between you and all of your razors,â she said mischievously, darting into the hallway to beat him to the bathroom, âand every other sharp object I can hide will be hidden.â
âDonât touch my shurikens!â Dick yelped, groaning when a sudden cry sounded from behind him.
âFucking hell,â he mumbled, bending over to pick up his daughter and cuddle her into his chest, âKory and her hormones, you and your...well, youâre a baby, so itâs not really your fault. I mean, of course, youâll miss me. We spend all day together.â
Marâi looked up at him with wide, curious eyes, as if encouraging him to go on.
âYou let me talk about pretty much anything. Your mom does it too, but sometimes she falls asleep or gets bored and sheâs not terrific at hiding it when sheâs not interested. You also threw up on your Uncle Jason the first time he held you, which was pretty cool.â
She babbled something in baby and gripped his shirt, pulling herself into an easy float above his arms.
âYou seem to like my music more than anyone elseâs. And you fall asleep on top of me when weâre watching the game,â he continued, bringing his fingers up to tickle her tummy.Â
Marâi giggled and lost her balance, falling back into his hands.
âLetâs see...youâre definitely the cutest baby the world has ever seen. You behave perfectly with all your uncles and aunts. Even when Damian tried to kill you. You just zapped him with a little starbolt and laughed.â
Dick stared into her perfect green eyes and couldnât help but feel a wave of sadness come over him. Nine months did feel too soon, in some ways. Marâi had only just started walking. And her babbling was becoming increasingly more frequent. How long would it be before she said her first words? Would he even be there when she did?
âIâm going to miss being home, just so you know. A lot. But I definitely have to go. So you and your mom canât try anything funny, okay?â
Shit. Were his eyes wet? Was he crying?
âI wonât be gone for too long tomorrow. Just in the morning. And then we can spend the rest of the day together.â
Marâi raised a palm and rubbed it against his beard, showing him a gummy smile that was punctuated with two tiny baby teeth.Â
He was definitely crying.Â
âAnyway, Iâm going to put you to bed now and stop your mom from destroying all the sharp things in the house, because Iâm going to have to shave in the morning and thatâs just a reality sheâll have to face -âÂ
He pulled Marâi away from him slowly, lowering her back into the crib, retracting her immediately after the shrieking began.
âItâs bedtime, starshine, please, please go to sleep.â
But Marâi, with a stubborn sense of persistence rivaling that of her father and mother, continued to scream and cry until Dick was snuggling her close to his chest, her fingers curled up in the cotton of his t-shirt.
Which is exactly how Kory found them thirty minutes later, having thrown out every razor-like thing she could possibly think of. Dick was still standing there in the center of the room, in the glow of the stars they had painted together, staring down at his daughter with tired, watery eyes.Â
âAh,â Kory said smugly, âI believe I am not the only one with a case of separation anxiety.â
Her husband looked over at her, something unreadable in his expression.
âHow serious were you about making another one?â

Between the way she tried to hug herself, her tired look and lack of energy behind her greeting, it should have been a dead giveaway that Marâi was sick.
From what he could gather, it was just a common cold, easily treatable with time and the right medicine⌠if sheâd accept it, that is.  A bitter suntance thatâs a mix between powder and liquid on a 7 year old girl? Yeah, good luck with that. They had been arguing abiout this for what felt like an hour inside Marâiâs lilac room, toys and stuffed animals scattered all over the place after she threw them at him.
He sighed in exasperation. ÂŤMarâi, youâll need to take this.Âť
The stubborn toddler shook her head. ÂŤNo!Âť
The sighs were getting louder. ÂŤMarâi, please take this, itâs good for you!Âť
ÂŤNo, itâs not! Bitter things are bad!Âť
ÂŤWell, not this one! So please take it!Âť
ÂŤNO!Âť
He pressed his fingers to his temples. This wasnât working. Perhaps a new approach was in orderâŚ
ÂŤMarâi, mommy will be very sad if you donât drink this. She would say that you have to drink it.Âť
Marâi faltered at that statement as she sniffed her running nose. She never wants to see mommy be sad.
Dick slyly added: ÂŤBesides, only the bravest girls would drink something like this, especially because itâs bitter.Âť
Marâiâs look instantly turned into one of determination. The plan worked.
ÂŤOK, Iâll do it!Âť
And with that, she took the medicine, making a lot of disgusted faces as she did. It was honestly kind of adorable, the way she would scrunch up her face and put her tongue out. After getting some water and a bit of cake to wash it down, she started to feel sleepy.
Dick started to tuck her in, making sure she was warm. ÂŤDonât worry, Mommy Kory will be here in 10 minutes. Weâll be here for you whenever you need us.Âť
Mar;i yawned cutely. ÂŤThank you, Daddy. I love you.Âť
Dickâs eyes softened up. ÂŤI love you too, Starshine.Âť
Dick was about to leave, until Marâi shifted from her bed. ÂŤDaddy, can youy tell me a story?Âť
Dick smiled warmly atr that. ÂŤSure thing, princess. How about I tell you the story of Robin and Starfire?Âť
Marâi clapped her hands at that. ÂŤOooh, thatâs my favourite!Âť
Dick never noticed his lovely wife silently listening and looking at them from the corner, hovering above the floor to not make any sounds on the floor. The smile she sported as she observed the cute scene before her could light up the whole hallway she was floating in.
Todayâs addition to RobStar week has been brought to you by: mad midnight-typing and prayers that my internet connection is strong enough to publish this before midnight. Also, ice cold water, without which I surely would be a puddle of melty goo because of this goddamn PK vacation heat.
Enjoy, lovelies!

The game was set. The rules had been established. The consequences agreed upon.
All that was left were the moves to be made.
Robin had this challenge in the bag.
âYou want to go on a vacation that badly, Beast Boy?â He said with exasperation, eyeing the impressive stack of brochures the changeling had collected and left for him to consider, âwasnât Tokyo a vacation?â
âTokyo was ninety percent work, dude, and you know it! Come on, letâs go somewhere fun, itâs been ages since anything big happened here.â Beast Boy pleaded, flopping down on the couch.
Robin crossed his arms.
âWhat do the rest of you think?â
Raven shrugged, her attention focused on the heavy mystery novel in her hands.
âWhatever the rest of you want.â
Cyborg scratched the back of his neck, leaning back in his seat, âI think it would be good. BBâs right, itâs been a while since we took a break, and even longer since anythinâ struck in Jump.â
âOkay,â Robin said slowly, turning to his girlfriend, âStar?â
Starfire hesitated, unwilling to meet his gaze.
âTruthfully,â she said, âI do not think it is a bad idea for us to do the taking of a break, even if it only brief. I do not wish to leave our home indefensible again, but I believe a vacation could be great fun.â
Robin considered this, narrowing his eyes.
âAre the three of you in on this together?â He asked, glaring at Beast Boy.
âNo way! Weâre just the smartest ones in the room, man,â the younger boy shot back.
Robin sighed, âI donât think itâs a good idea. We canât predict what may happen in the time that weâre gone. Not worth the risk.â
âThen how about this -â Beast Boy said quickly, leaping to his feet, âweâll play you for the vacation! One big challenge, winner take all.â
Starfire didnât miss the way her boyfriend froze, a sinister smile curving on his lips. His weakness for competitions was hardly a secret in the Tower.
âIâm listening.â
âItâs easy. We pick an activity, we play the activity, and if you win weâll never bother you about going on a vacation again.â
âI love the sound of that.â
âBut,â Beast Boy added, âif we win, the Titans get to go on some kind of fun trip every year from now on.â
Robin couldnât resist a harmless challenge like that, especially when, win or lose, the outcome wouldnât be terrible.
âOne last question, Beast Boy. Whoâs my competition?â
Beast Boy smirked and for a moment, Robin wondered if he had made a terrible mistake.
âWhoever has the best chance of beating you.â
Robin agreed to three one-on-one sparring matches in the gym about a week later. It would be easy, he supposed, and maybe embarrassingly so. Beast Boy had never won in a fight against him. Cyborgâs strength was always undercut by Robinâs agility. And Starfire was full of weak spots he could easily poke and prod until he had her giggling on the floor.
To his surprise, however, she was the one who was waiting for him when he arrived at the designated time. Her long, cherry-colored hair had been thrown in a high ponytail, and her gorget was gone, revealing an achingly smooth, tanned neck that disappeared into a white karate gi.
âSo youâre my competition today?â
She smiled, her eyes twinkling with the promise of a secret. What wasnât she telling him?
âIt would seem so, Robin.â
âAnd the others?â He asked, noting their absence in the room.
Starfireâs smile widened.
âI believe all three of them have journeyed to the mall for the afternoon. I trust you will have no trouble admitting your defeat when they return.â
Robin raised an eyebrow, an odd wave of heat flaring in his belly.
âThatâs cute, Star. Whenever youâre ready to do this, we can do this. Do you have any ground rules for this match?â
âAs a matter of fact, we do,â she said airily, swallowing a giggle when she saw the bewildered look on his face, âthe first condition is that we cannot use powers or weaponry. The victor is the opponent who secures at least two of three matches. Victory is signaled by either a verbal confirmation to yield or ten seconds on the mat. Any questions?â
Yes, he wanted to say, what did you do with my girlfriend?
âThose are fair terms,â Robin agreed, âI donât think I have any of my own. But you better not go easy on me, Star. No holding back.â
âOh, Robin,â Starfire replied, a dazzling smile gracing her lips once again, âwhen have I ever done that?â
The game was set. The rules had been established. The consequences agreed upon.
They stood six feet across from each other and bowed, sinking into their stances. And at the count of three, they began.
He had never expected Starfire to strike like lightning.
Maybe he had been distracted by the glimmer in her eyes or the way her hair whipped behind her in a crimson streak. Maybe heâs been a little too captivated by the strangely sexy growl sheâd emitted when she had pounced forward.
But there, with his back pressed against the mat, and her legs bracketing his hips, he could only muster up enough brain power to utter a quiet âwhoaâ in amazement.
âYield for me,â she demanded, her eyes flaring.
âI yield,â he replied automatically.
The look of determination on her face gave way to utter joy as she giggled and climbed off of him, extending a hand to help him up.
âThat was not nearly as difficult as I expected it to be,â she mused, dancing away from him.
Robin, having realized he had been tricked, only glared at the Tamaranian princess.
He would not lose their second fight.
Once again, they stood six feet across from each other and bowed, sinking into their stances. Robin focused on the position of her hands. He had a hunch she would knock her body into his and cage him on the ground again. She was quick. He needed to be quicker.
At the count of three, they began.
As he suspected, she leaped forward, bracing her shoulder in an effort to connect it with his sternum. He side-stepped her motions expertly, grinning when she righted herself and landed, albeit clumsily, on both feet. She snarled and kicked her foot outwards in an attempt to trip him up. He retaliated by pinning her body against the wall and throwing a swift jab to her side.
âYield, Starfire,â he commanded, pinning her wrists to her side. She glowered at him, clearly unhappy with the defeat.
âStarfire,â he pressed.Â
âI yield,â she grumbled, âbut I will not lose a second time.â
âI donât plan to either, beautiful.â
She didnât respond to that, but he couldnât help enjoying the soft flush that crept up her neck when she turned away.
Six feet across from each other, with fresh, blazing determination - Robin was ready. Starfire was ready. She had a trick up her sleeve. A dirty, terribly evil trip. Beast Boy had suggested it and she hadnât planned on utilizing it, but now the temptation was far too great.
At the count of three, she stayed still, waiting for him to make the first move. They mirrored otherâs motions, moving intently, slowly in a circle. Their actions were precise and sharp. She wondered if he would let her get close enough to make a move.Â
He threw the first punch, a gentle tap on her shoulder. A slight brush up against her back.Â
He was toying with her, playing a game. He was making this round last a little longer.
It infuriated her to no end.Â
Robin came close again, throwing another jab to her side. This time, she kicked her leg out and hooked it behind his knee, forcing him to stumble back and fall to the floor. Her hands came behind his neck, and suddenly, her mouth was on his.Â
And he melted into her kiss immediately, instinctively, as if he had no other choice but to kiss her back with as much passion as possible. His fingers grabbed at her hair, removing the elastic that secured her ponytail. Her ruby colored locks tickled his nose.Â
What were they doing again?
With a loud smack, Starfire broke away, an apologetic look in her eyes.
âYou have been pinned for over ten seconds, Robin,â she said quietly, âwhich means -â
Robinâs eyes widened.Â
âNo fucking way.â
âYou have lost this challenge.â Starfire finished, unable to stifle the laughter that bubbled up in her throat.
âYou cheater! You planned this whole thing, didnât you!â He cried out, rolling them over, and running his fingers along her ribcage, âwhatever happened to Tamaranian honor, Star?â
She squealed with laughter, kicking her legs in the air as he continued to torment her mercilessly.
âAll - is - fair - in - the - love - and - war - Robin, please!â she gasped out, tears pooling in her eyes.Â
âWell, a deal is a deal,â he relented, pausing his tickling, âso youâve won the vacation challenge. But you can tell Beast Boy thatâs the last time I let him challenge me to anything. Especially when he couldnât bother to show up.â
âThat was my suggestion, actually,â Starfire said meekly, a heavy blush filling her cheeks, âI did not wish for any witnesses to be in the room if I needed to...take things a step further.â
Robin stared at her in amazement before bursting into laughter and clambering off of her.
âGod, you are something else entirely, Star,â he said fondly,.
She tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear and smiled.
âThen, you are not upset that you lost?â
âIâd hardly call it a loss,â he joked, raising a hand to cup her cheek, âbut no. I donât mind losing to you in the slightest.â
Starfire beamed and leaned in to kiss him, her fingers gripping the white V of his gi.Â
âYou know,â she said thoughtfully, âwe could continue to spar for a while longer if you would like. We have at least another hour before we could possibly be interrupted.â
âAre you proposing a rematch of sorts, Star?â
âIn a manner of speaking.â
Robin grinned.
âIâve never been one to turn down a challenge.â
ÂŤThatâs how they felt when they were seperated from each other for far too long. I could always see it in their eyes when they so much as left each otherâs side for a single moment. Theyâve been through countless ordeals, faced unimaginable horrors and irredeemably evil foes⌠yet their greatest challenge was loneliness. It should be expected, of course. Theyâve found themselves lost for most of their lives.
He was a child who just wanted to fly alongside his parents forever⌠and they were just taken away from him for the sake of greed and pride. Losing his beloved parents was the first time he ever found himself lost⌠and it would not be the last. From being bullied at his orphanage to his adoptive parent and mentor having the people skills of a hermit, the sense of solitude was never lost on him. Even when he made friends in the City of Jump, he was too afraid to open himself up to them for the longest time. His soul desperately wanting him to open up, to share himself with others, yet his mind always holding him back for fear of further heartbreak. Who could blame him, for life was too fickle, too fragile to invest in.
Until he met her. Her, who never judged him unfairly. Who cared for him, consoled him in times of need.
She knew what it was like to be taken away from your home, the crushing belief that you donât belong anywhere. To lose your parents, your family in what seemed like a flash.
She knew more than anyone how it felt to be lost. Away from her planet, she lost not only her home and family, but her innocence, her dignity, her sense of self. Sold as a trophy for the sake of her people, forced to live half her childhood in fear and pain as a slave. Worst of all, even when she did escape with her life, her homeworld couldnât accept her anymore. It seemed like everything in the universe was out to get her.
Until she crashed into the little blue planet called Earth.
Ever since they met, they found themselves lost in the emotions they had for one another, wanting but not willing to make a move. The perils they faced at the hands of villains, criminals, traitors and monsters, were nothing to the pain they felt when they thought they lost each other.
Suddenly, it wasnât about being lost, but losing someone else. Losing each other.
After they both realised this, they stayed close to one another at alltimes, good and bad. They lived together, played, fought and loved together. And not once did they find themselves lost, neither physically, nor mentally. They knew exactly who they were and where they belonged, as long as they were together. From the moment they met, to day they married and the time they had their children.
How fittingâŚÂť
Marâi paused her speech. All these different feelings - pride, loss, sorrow, admiration - were overwhelming. Her breathing slowed in an effort to calm herself down, her eyes failing to stop tears from trickling down her face as she stared into the large crowd before her. The New Titans, the Justice League, Jakey⌠all of them were giving her sympathetic looks, urging her to rest.
But she couldnât. Not yet. Proudly raising her head high, she continued with renewed resolve, her mane of black hair only seeming to make her statuesque form even more poiwerful.
ÂŤHow fitting it is, then, that they left this world together, in a heroic effort to save it from oblivion. My parents, Richard Grayson and Koriandâr of Tamaran, chose to live their entire lives together, to never lose themselves again, and guide us all through their example. Let us remember them forever and know that no matter what, even if we think weâre lost⌠we can always find our way.Âť
With her eulogy done, she turned away from the crowd. Her brother rising up to meet her. She took hold of two urns with Tamaranea scriptures and symbols on them, handing over one to her brother.
And with one motion, they spread the ashes contained within the urns into the deserts of Tamaran, the wind blowing them away. But no matter whare it took them, they wouldnât be lost.
...and so, in a jet-lagged delirium, after sixteen hours of traveling, I present to you all another fic that has not been proofread in the slightest. Yet. Weâll see what happens.Â
Feedback is love! I hope you all enjoy day two of RS Week 2019 <3

And her heart burst like the stars do in the end, and She fell on her knees. But the whole world looked her in awe. She lit the whole universe with her fire for a moment. In the end, she was as beautiful as the stardust falling from the sky and her heart didn't ache anymore. - Akshay Vasu
He was becoming accustomed to the idea of hosting an alien on his own terms. That is to say, he couldnât just let her roam free after all the damage she had caused the night before, and he refused to ask Bruce for advice or help. So the simple studio apartment he had been using as a temporary base in Jump City went from housing Robin, the Boy Wonder, to also housing a pretty little alien girl who called herself âStarfireâ.Â
He was keeping her at an arm's length. He may not have been as paranoid as his father, but he had enough reasons to not completely buy into the bubbly persona he now bore witness to. All traces of the fierce warrior lady, who had hefted a car with the toe of her boot, and kissed him so bruisingly he felt he might faint, had vanished. And the woman that remained seemed impossibly different from the girl heâd met before.Â
âYou can stay with me on a trial basis until we have things sorted out with the others. I can try to get you something more permanent if youâre planning on sticking around for a while.â
âI am ready to do whatever you ask of me, Robin.â
They had been like that for about two hours, seated across from each other in his small kitchen. Robin was dead tired and deep into his fourth pot of coffee. The others - Raven, Beast Boy, and the guy they now called Cyborg - had agreed to meet with him and Starfire at the island later in the evening, so they could discuss a few things. Until then, or until she had somewhere else to go, Starfire would be staying with him. So there they were, a few hours after dawn- ground rules needed to be laid out before anything else happened.Â
âWeâll have to go over some cultural review as well. Youâll need to brush up on Earthâs laws and fill out some paperwork formally declaring your presence in Jump.â
âIf that is what you require, I will take care of it.â
âYou might want to contact your planet of origin and sort out those affairs as well. If you were taken by those other aliens by force, you might have a case for -â
âI was not,â she interjected, a painfully tight smile drawn across her lips, âtaken by force, unfortunately. But I will be sure to contact the ambassadors of my home planet and confirm I am well.â
Robin was surprised that she never questioned his requests, no matter how uncomfortable they seemed to make her. Sometimes she would fidget under his gaze, before taking a deep breath and staring at him with her wide green eyes. Her back would straighten and her fingers would release whatever they were gripping. And with a sweet smile, her nerves seemingly melted away, she would tell him,Â
âI trust you, Robin.â
Which was the strangest thing she could have possibly said.Â
 Trust.Â
She trusted him. She took him at his word in matters that concerned her life and well-being. She trusted him to save her. She trusted that he cared.Â
And Robin, while flattered, was far too pragmatic to let this slide.
âYou...trust me?â He asked slowly, testing the word on his tongue.
She nodded emphatically.Â
âVery much. You have been unequivocally...nice to me, even though you do not owe me anything, nor have you asked for anything in exchange for your kindliness. It does not go unappreciated. I admire your willingness to assist me in my hour of need and am indebted to you beyond measure. The very least I can offer is my full trust in your words.â
âStarfire, you canât do that.â
âDo what?â
âPut that much faith in any one person,â he snapped, his temper beginning to rise, âyouâre going to get yourself killed or worse if you donât build some walls soon. Go back into crazy warrior mode or something. I donât know what itâs like on your planet, but around here, itâs common for people to lie and cheat and steal. â
âI do not believe you are one of those people.â
Robin rolled his eyes, âquite frankly, you donât know anything about me. I think itâs pretty naive of you to think that every person who comes along and saves you at the right moment is going to be in your corner forever.â
He could have sworn he saw a ripple move through her, a sharp flash of green in her face. Just as quickly as it came, it had disappeared. Her hands came to the edge of her skirt, fingers digging into the shiny purple fabric.Â
âI was offered as a prize by my own people,â Starfire said quietly, âgiven into service under one of the cruelest races in the galaxy. I was disillusioned by promises of loyalty and protection long before then. I do not offer my trust so freely and I am not as naive as you may believe. But if there is someone who has been as kind and just as you have been, who has succeeded in saving my life and gifting me the freedom I have always wanted, I am going to choose to trust them. I am going to choose to see the good and believe in something more. Just like you did.â
His brow furrowed, confusion crossing his face.Â
âI did what?â
She rose from her seat and approached him slowly, holding both of her fists outwards. There was a crackle of green light around her palms, a warm flicker of energy that danced at her fingertips.
âI was standing like this. I could have killed you in an instant,â she said.Â
His fingers itched for his utility belt, but he set his jaw and allowed her to make her point.Â
âI had already destroyed much of your home. I was angry. I was a threat to you and many others. But you saw through me. You gave me a chance to prove I was worth more than what I appeared to be.â
Starfire drew her fists back to her sides and returned to her seat, looking at him squarely in the face. Her eyes drank in the curve of his jaw, the smooth line of his nose, and the slight flush on his cheeks. She stared into his mask so intently, he wondered if he was wearing it at all.
âI will choose to see the good, Robin. I will choose to trust and believe in others,â she said finally, âBut most of all, I will promise to always trust and believe in you. Now you may call me naive or foolish, but do not forget - I will always have these to protect me.âÂ
She held up her hands and allowed a flare of green to pass through them, enjoying the look of surprise on his face as it was worn down into amusement.
âWell, then,â Robin said, clearing his throat, âyou know what youâre talking about. Iâll...Iâll trust you can take care of yourself, at the very least.â
Starfire beamed and allowed the flames to die out.Â
âThen it seems we have an understanding. If there are any other items you believe I must take care of in order to establish my presence on Earth, I am eager to know what they are.â
He felt his lips twitch before he gave in and allowed a genuine smile to take place.
âWhat do you say we get something to eat, rest up for a bit, and finish this conversation with everyone else? Iâll pay for food.â
Starfire grinned.
âAs I do not have any Earthen currency, I am afraid it would have been your responsibility to cover the costs regardless. But yes, that sounds satisfactory. If it is not too much trouble, may I use your balcony for a moment?â
âUh...sure. What for?â
His eyes widened when she yanked her tall purple boots down to the ankle and kicked them off, unbuckling the wide silver belt around her waist and setting that aside on the kitchen counter. Starfire made quick work of discarding her armbands and reached for the gorget around her neck, only to hesitate and draw her hands back to her sides.Â
âTamaranians require sunlight to recharge our energy,â she explained, moving a few feet past him to access the sliding glass doors that led outside, âit is preferable that the maximum amount of skin be exposed during the process. I do not yet know the Earthen standard for indecency, but I believe it is safe for me to assume nudity is frowned upon.â
Robin coughed and rubbed the back of his neck, fighting the urge to allow his eyes to trail past her long, ruby colored hair and down to her longer, deliciously golden legs.Â
âYeah, uh, youâd be correct in that assumption.â
As soon as the first drops of sun hit her skin, she closed her eyes, tasting the pure energy as it flowed through her veins.
This girl was dangerous. Ethereal. Wondrously and impossibly captivating.Â
Robin didnât dare speak. Teenage boy thoughts be damned, he was a professional. If he let himself turn to goo over every pretty girl that came his way, he would be no better than Bruce.
âYou know,â Starfire said, tilting her face towards the sky, âI could inform you of the exact composition and properties of light and solar energy by a single taste. I know of the greatest beings in the galaxy, the structures of strange planets, the feeling of stardust as it grazes your body. And despite how normal these have all become for me, I cannot help but feel small in comparison. My power and strength is nothing compared to what the universe has to offer. In many ways, I am like stardust itself - the tail end of something far bigger and greater than I could ever be. Is that not a curious notion?â
It was the first of many incredible things she would say to him throughout their friendship as their feelings grew and bloomed and blossomed and changed and remained. But at the time, it was the most exquisite thing Robin had ever witnessed in his life, and his heart felt a hundred times more foreign in the moments that passed afterward.Â
âYeah,â he said quietly, allowing himself to melt for her, just this once, âit really is.â
The moans stopped. Finally, after what felt like a day, Starfire or Tamaran finally gave birth to her second offspiring. A bounchoing baby boy. To say that her husband Dick Grayson was happy would be a massive understatement. He never imagined having a child, let alone two of them. Weirdly enough, he lacked any concern or worry, like he had when his lovely Marâi first entered his life. He felt more confident about raising this child, that he could do right by him.
Speaking of Marâi, she couldnât get her big round eyes off her newborn brother, her expression the definition of awe. The sight of her positively tiny brother was beyond her wild imagination. The faint sound of his heartbeat, the little fists he made as he slept, all of it was an unforgettable experience for Marâi. She instantly took a shine to the newest member of the family.
ÂŤHeâs⌠so small.Âť
Starfire couldnât help but chuckle at her remark. Although tired from the effort, her face was as expressive as ever, her auburn mane of hair siplled all over the pillows of the hospital bed. ÂŤYes, he is.Âť
Marâi handed over her baby brother back to Starfire. ÂŤWas I so small too?Âť
Dickâs grin grew, showing off his pearly whites. ÂŤYes, you were.Âť
Marâi hummed in response, propping herself on her fatherâs lap as he sat next to Starfireâs bed. They were all enthralled by this, the miracle of life.
Dick though this was a good as time as any to ask the question, bringing his hand on top of his wifeâs. ÂŤSo⌠what are we gonna call him?Âť Marâi had ears and eyes wide open, awaiting a response.
Starfire was deep in thought after she heard that question, her brows furrowing in contemplation. ÂŤWell, I was thinking we could continue our theme of naming our children after our own familes by naming him something similar to the father of my mother, InâJerek.Âť
Dick scratched his chin a bit. ÂŤIt sounds a bit like Jake. Maybe that would be good?Âť
Starfireâs eyes widened slightly at that. ÂŤIt sounds wonderful. Jake it is, then.Âť
Dick turned over to Marâi, who  was nervously playing with her thumbs. ÂŤMarâi, say hi to your brother Jake.Âť
She waved her arm softly and whispered as to not wake him up. ÂŤHiii, Jake.Âť
Dick chuckled at that. He couldnât believe his family was growing like this! It seemed like yesterday that he was still a bumbling teenager who could barely talk to his alien teammate, and yet here he is now, a father of two children, with the woman of his dreams at his side.
He played a bit with Starfireâs hair, giving her comfort after her ordeal. ÂŤBy the way, what does InâJerek mean?Âť
Starfireâs emerald eyes turned to meet his cobalt ones. ÂŤIt means âspirit of the dustâ. My ancestors were nomads who travelled from deserts to jungles across Tamaran, until they built the kingdom. Itâs supposed to be a title that brings hope and determination even in a wasteland filled with dust.Âť
Dick pondered all that as he took baby Jake in his arms, rocking him gnetly back and forth. ÂŤKinda like how you named Marâi after the Tamaranean meaning of my motherâs name, saying that sheâs a star shining in the night.Âť
Marâi popped up from her spot at her fatherâs lap in sudden realization. ÂŤThatâs why you call me âStarshineâ?Âť
Star giggled at her reaction to that little deduction. ÂŤYes, that is correct.Âť
Marâi raised her head proudly, wiping her nose with her pointer finger. ÂŤWell, Iâm gonna call him âStardust from now on! Itâll be MY sweet nickname for him!Âť
The whole family laughed softly at this declaration. ÂŤThat sounds beautiful, dear.Âť said Dick.
Marâi got closer to her baby brother, whispering in his ear. ÂŤIâm gonna take care of you no matter what, Stardust.Âť
The infantâs eyues slowly opened, as if he were responding to the name she gave him.He spread his arms as if he wanted to touch Marâi, who eagerly let out a hand for him.
Sheâd be at his side forever, just like her parents would.
đ LIGHT the family feels are just mmmmPh so GOOD wow wo w đ itâs such a sweet and heartfelt piece! Kudos to you on another fic that was beautifully done!

Sooo⌠I said I was probably not going to take part in RobStar week this year on account of just being burned out and hating basically everything I wrote.
However⌠Iâve been busting my ass this weekend to get some oneshots written for the week and so far, Iâve managed to churn out like 3 days so Iâm rolling with the momentum because fuck knows how long the creativity will hold out.
Not the happiest with this first one⌠shock⌠but I like day 2 at least so⌠yea.
p.s - sorry if I have been awol or not responsive these past few days. Iâm not ignoring anyone or anything. Iâve just been solely focused on writing these and havenât wanted distractions so have like⌠really tried to stay away from discord and tumblr lmao.
Anyway⌠enough blabbering⌠hope you like day 1 and happy robstar week, folks!
(Forgive the weird, makeshift line break below. If Tumblr wasnât such a little bitch and hadnât got rid of said feature, it would look normal. >.>)
Pearls of rain were speckled all across the glass with a few trying hard to best the others, racing one another to see who would be first to reach the bottom of the window pane, leaving a watery trail in their steads.
She brought her fingers to the surface, following the lines of the rain droplets, a patient smile on her face. The dampness outside was not one of her favorite types of weather patterns but she didnât mind it so long as she didnât have to go out in it.
It had been raining all day; non stop and relentless. Starfire sighed as she shifted in her seat, pressing the side of her head to the glass, her green eyes watching the new raindrops that appeared from the night sky.
She and Robin had arrived in Gotham early that morning and had spent a bit of time together around the city before they inevitably went to see Robinâs former mentor and legal guardian.
Bruce Wayne was, in Starfireâs opinion, a complex and intriguing man. There were a lot of similarities between him and her boyfriend; ones that were painfully familiar to her when she saw them in the billionaire by day, vigilante by night.
She had known Bruce for a while now; having been in a relationship with his son for 2 years, she had had her fair share of meetings with him.
And yet, she still wasnât sure how she was supposed to take him. She wasnât sure on what he thought of her as he could make himself just as unreadable as Robin could, if not more. It was so very frustrating to be around humans who were so secretive about their own thoughts and feelings.
Starfire constantly wore her heart on her sleeve; allowing all of her emotions to be showcased. It was a Tamaranian trait, to embrace everything one felt. The very idea of hiding your thoughts and feelings or not expressing them at the very least was unheard of on her world.
They had come to the city Robin had grown up in as another milestone approached.
Hello friends. Please allow me to quickly and suddenly resurrect my online presence with a week of robstar goodness, followed by an onslaught of miscellaneous content + a loooot of fics that shouldâve been published ages ago. The bitch is back! She is also about to board a plane and has not proofread this one bit, so please excuse the ugly errors.
As always, feedback is loved.Â
Enjoy!
Wayne Manor (ft. implied BatCat justice bc itâs what we deserved)
It had been twenty-two years in the making, but finally, the day had come.Â
Dick tugged at the collar of his suit and huffed, tilting his wrist upwards to check his watch. Two hours till takeoff.
That was how he had been thinking of it anyway. The whole event felt more like a formality than anything else; marriage was just the legal definition of what they already had. Often enough, he forgot they werenât husband and wife.Â
He glanced around the room and smiled; Alfred had really outdone himself this time. Dick brushed his fingers along the row of lilies that lined the entryway, admiring the splash of pink roses that stood out amid the white flora. Their saccharine smell lingered in the air as he walked on through the room, studying the impressive set-up.
They had chosen to host their wedding at Wayne Manor, which was gorgeous and private and comfortable. With graceful vaults and arches that curved into a smooth dome and made the polished marble floors gleam in the glittering sunlight, the ballroom was easily the most elegant waste of space Dick had known in his house. And, it was finally being put to use the way it deserved.Â
Alfred had thrown himself into preparations the moment heâd heard. Even in his old age, he was a force to be reckoned with- he had florists ready, caterers selected, a decorating committee arranged, and invitations delivered within days. Thirty-six hours before the ceremony, he had marched in with an army of specialists and had set to work on the hall.Â
It had been divided up in such a way that the service, reception, and dinner would all be hosted within a few feet of each other. From the thick maple doors of the entryway, she would walk in, fiercely beautiful as ever. She would make her way past the rows of chairs towards a trellis made of fine gold, twisted with flowers and leaves. Posts would be in line with its sides, thin gossamer curtains tied with ribbons from wall to wall, effectively cutting off access to the space behind. After they kissed, the entire party would pass through the curtains and into the garden, where they could immediately enjoy the reception, while the bride and groom snuck off to change into clothes better suited to dinner and dancing. At the end of the night, they would bid their goodbyes and steal away into the night as they had for the past twenty-two years.Â
Dick had envisioned this moment for half of his life in different ways. The bride used to change, often switching between the various women in his life at the time- but as time went on, the vision became clearer and more obvious. It could only be her. Sheâd always been there, a shadow flitting in and out of the window, playing with fire fearlessly.Â
Something probed his arm gently, snapping him out of his thoughts.
âDoes it remind you of ours?â
He smiled and drew her hand to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to her palm.
âIn the best ways. Al really pulled this one together brilliantly.â
His wife sighed, intertwining their fingers.
âIt is worth it. Their happy ending is long overdue.â
âYeah,â Dick agreed, âitâs about time. Howâs the bride looking?â
âLike a million of the dollar bills,â Kori replied cheekily, âtruly, you may never have eyes for me again.â
He laughed and cupped her cheek, taking in her appearance. His eyes lingered on her full lips, the glimmer of happiness in her electric eyes, the slight pink flush that ran from her cheeks to her collarbone. Her hair had been pinned up into an intricate bun, stray curls framing her face. She was a vision in the soft gold gown Selina had asked her to wear as one of the bridesmaids.Â
âI donât think I could ever have eyes for anyone other than you, beautiful.âÂ
Kori beamed and slid her free hand to his chest, gripping the lapel of his suit jacket to pull him into a sweet kiss. Her mouth moving achingly slow against his while he fought to remind himself they were in an unconcealed, public space.Â
She pulled away and giggled, smoothing out the fabric she had crumpled.
âYour restraint is impressive, my love.â
âIt had better be,â a deep voice resounded from behind them, âas I recall, you two are already married, so I doubt thereâs much more you can do at a wedding that you havenât done before.â
âYouâd be surprised, Dad,â Dick said cheerfully, âbut Iâm not looking to upstage your night, so letâs leave it at that.â
âHello kânorfka Bruce,â Kori said eagerly, hurrying to press a kiss to her father-in-lawâs cheek, âyou look very handsome! How are you feeling?â
Bruce patted her shoulder affectionately, a rare smile lighting up his face, âlike I should have done years ago. You look lovely, by the way.â
âI was just telling Richard to reserve judgment until after the bride has arrived. Selina is truly...indescribably wonderful.â
Dick didnât miss the dreamy look that crossed his fatherâs face. Â
âAnd the flower girl? As radiant as her mother?â
He didnât miss the way his wife blushed at those words either.
âProvided she does not ruin her dress again, Marâi will look perfect,â she replied with a sigh, glancing at the doors, âin fact, I believe it is time for me to check in on her. Please excuse me, kânorfka Bruce. Richard, I will see you before the ceremony.â
Bruce shoved his hands into his pockets and watched her leave.
âHow are you feeling, Dick?â
âShouldnât I be asking you that? Itâs your wedding, after all.â
âItâs about time, donât you think,â Bruce replied with a grin, âI made her wait twenty-two years.â
âIâm still amazed by that, yâknow. Star and I tied the knot...what, six years after we started dating. I canât believe it took you guys this long.â
âWell weâre here now, arenât we?â
âOnly because Selina was boss enough to propose.â
âI wouldâve proposed when the time came!â Bruce said indignantly.Â
Dick snorted, âYeah, in 2068, when youâre too close to death to fear commitment.â He glanced around the room, gaze falling on a nearby satin pillow, âIs the ring-bearer going to show up today?â
âHeâll pitch a fit, but yes. The kidâs a fan of Selina. Plus, he misses you.â
âThe devil? Inconceivable,â Dick muttered.Â
Bruce cuffed him on the back of the head, âHeâs your brother.â
âSo is Tim, but you donât see him slicing me up in âtraining sessionsâ. Speaking of, where is he? Why am I the only one here?â
âJason plans on popping in during the reception. Timâs bringing Stephanie so heâs at her house. Alfred is with Damian.â
âThatâs not what I mean. Why am I the only one here, now?â
Bruce shifted uncomfortably, and rubbed the back of his neck, âYouâre the first, you know. Iâve always held the others up to you, even when I shouldnât have. You were a brat, but you were also my first son. I wanted you to be here for that.â
âDad.â
âNo jokes, Iâm serious.â
âI am too.â
âWell...good.âÂ
âYeah.â
They stood in silence, eyes fixed on the rows of chairs and the trellis directly ahead.Â
âSoâŚâ
âHit the bar? A couple of pre-wedding drinks?âÂ
âIs that what Garfield and Victor did with you?â
Dick laughed as he lead his father out of the hall, âAre you kidding? They wouldnât let me near the mini-bar. Said they would beat my ass if I was tipsy at my own wedding.â
âClearly youâre not concerned about me.â
âNah. First, Silena is more than capable of sobering you up with a single glance. Second, youâre Batman.â
âHa ha, very funny. Iâm pretty sure Kori would do the same if youâd stumbled down the aisle. That woman can pack a punch.â
âDo I detect a hint of fatherly pride there, Dad? Are you finally coming around to your daughter-in-law?â
Bruce rolled his eyes, nudging Dick with his elbow.
âKnock it off. You know I respect her and care about her. Sheâs a fine young woman. I couldnât have chosen better for you if Iâd tried.â
Dick softened, âI was kidding, but...thanks. It means a lot to hear you say that. She loves and admires you so much. And she tells Marâi stories about you all the time. She wonât let me ruin your image even a little.â
âShe gave you the home you needed, didnât she?â Bruce said quietly, âYour relationship with me and this house and everything you had turned away from was different after she came into your life.â
âYeah,â Dick agreed, clapping his hand on his fatherâs shoulder, âmy home is wherever she goes. And she always seems to know what I need when I need it. Thatâs why she cares so much about this place.â
âIâm sorry for all the shit I gave you in the beginning, you know. I think it pushed you to be strong and decisive, but I am sorry if it hurt you.â
âNot gonna lie, I was pretty pissed for a while. But Star always understood. Always gave you the benefit of the doubt.â
âSheâs a special girl.â
And Dick could have gone on about how perfect his wife was - how incomparably sweet and passionate and fiery she could be. How strongly she fought for their family. How lovingly she accepted everyone into her heart.
But he simply nodded and raised his watch to check the time, grinning at his father.
âHow about that drink, old man? Push away some of those pre-wedding jitters?â
Bruceâs lips twitched in amusement, but Dick still caught the happy creases around his eyes.
âAs long as Alfred doesnât catch us, Iâm game.â
âAfraid heâll kick your ass?â Dick teased, swiftly dodging a well-aimed slap upside the head.
âItâs my wedding day, son. I get a free pass. Iâm looking out for you.â
âYeah, Dad,â Dick chuckled, âyou always do.â
Gotham, despite itâs legendary criminal rate, contained buildings of incredible architectural design. From itâs spires to itâs gargoyles, the city looked like a high gothic painting when seen from a distance. Wayne Manor, however, was an exception. It looked like a blend of modern, post-modern and medieval designs, with 10 times the size of your normal Gotham house.
Inside said manor, an alien princess and an acrobat were snuggling on one of itâs gigantic beds, Yes, Robin and Starfire, Teen Titans, were inside Wayne Manor, safeguarding it while itâs master, Bruce Wayne, was away on a mission to take down a massive smuggling ring under the guise of Batman. Robin was to come on his own, but he couldnât resist bringing Starfire to his former home, eager to share his life with the one he loved.
But as they held each other close under the covers of the victorian-era bed, his mind couldnât help but wander offâŚ
Starfire noticed his brief blanking out. âRobin? Can you hear me?â
Robinâs mind refocused as soon as he heard Starâs voice calling to him. Her lovely voice always had a soothing effect on him, from the moment they met.
âYeah, sorry Star. I was just⌠pondering a few things.â
Starfire rose her head from the pillow and laid her back against it, turning her face to his, giving him her undivided attention. ÂŤWhat is it that troubles you, my love?Âť
Robin mimicked her postion, scratching the back of his head. âItâs not exactly troubling me, but itâs something peculiar I noticed⌠that the Manor doesnât really feel like home now.â
Starfire tilted her head towards the said a bit. âCan you elaborate?â
Robinâs eyes met the ceiling as he recalled his thoughts. âWell, itâs just that⌠I have a lot of memories from this place. Many of them were good ones, too. I mean, after I had gotten used to the place, since it kept scaring me with itâs size and all. I can remember playing in the halls with Bruce and Alfred, helping in the kitchen as Alfred taught me how to cook, playing hide and seek in the garden⌠and thatâs without even mentioning the training I went under Bruce to become Robin. By all means, I spent a very important part of my life here and I always thought of this place as my homeâ.  His eyes met Starfireâs. âBut ever since I found the Titans, I found myself missing the manor less and less.  Even now, I canât really bring myself to call it home in the same sense as before, if that makes any sense. Are my memories here really worth sharing if I canât connect myself to them anymore? Have I really become a stranger to a place I used to call home? What does that say about me?â
Starfire  took notice of every word he used and found herself sympathizing with Robin, for she found herself in that position more times than she would care to remember. The feeling of becoming a stranger to your own home and forgetting what made your life so wonderful when it first began. During her stay on Earth and over the course of her relationship with Robin, however, she came to a conclusion that brought her some piece of mind.
Starfire put her hands of each side of his face, trying to get him to focus on her. âI know how that feels. And I can say that it is perfectly normal. As people evolve and grow, they tend to leave pieces of their past behind to live better in the present. I felt that conflict of identity when I first returned to Tamaran.â
âTo marry that jello squid.â Robin couldnât help but chuckle at the memory.
Starfire joined him in mirthful giggles. âYes, that. I found myself getting disconnected from some of the ways of Tamaran, missing my happiest memories of it. But I realized that I would not trade any of the memories I have made here on Earth for any other on Tamaran. I got used to the idea of Earth being my home more and more. A personâs identity is not bound to any one location, because it is bound to their spirit. As long as one is happy, they are where they belong.â
Robin  listened intently to her words, admiring her way of thought. Starfire was always the most emotionally mature person heâd ever met, admiring her outlook on the human psyche. âThereâs a phrase we have here on Earth that describes that feeling. We say that âhome is where the heart isââ.
Starfire smiled warmly. âOh, that is a wonderful saying! It truly fits!â She snuggled against his chest, listening to his heart beat. âSo⌠where is your heart now?â
Robin found himself smiling back as he wrapped his arms around Starfireâs shapely form. âI think you already know the answer to that. And I can say that thatâs where it will stay forever.â
Starfire lifted her head at his declaration, leaning in for a passionate kiss that he was eager to return. No matter the place, they always knew where they truly belonged: In each otherâs arms.

The nights felt longest when they were apart. Colder, lonelier, and more infinite than Dick had ever imagined they could be. He missed his wife and her sunny smile. He wanted to go home. Â
For the first time in three weeks, she slept soundly, knowing that when morning came, her husband would be snuggled in bed beside her. He always sought her heat, winding his arms around her middle and nuzzling the space between her breasts with ardor. His fingers would be tangled in the golden ends of her hair, curled up at the small of her back.Â
âI love you,â heâd whisper, dropping kisses that flared on her skin. She would stroke his hair gently and run her hands along his shoulders. Long, languid touches and the smell of his shampoo - her soft moans of appreciation would melt into quickened gasps as his movements became more precise. The best way to rise in the morning was with his mouth against her.Â
She had missed him. She had missed him so terribly with her whole being, aching and miserable and physically drained without him beside her. She wondered why his absence had taken such a heavy toll on her these last few weeks. It had never been quite so unmanageable in the past. He had left a few days after her last heat cycle - perhaps she was having difficulty adjusting to his absence after nearly a week of constant contact.Â
Tug.Â
And then there was that. A strange pull from inside her chest, like her energy, the very essence of Xâhal itself, was seeking him.Â
Tug.
It seemed to happen whenever she yearned for him most. During their frequent facetime calls, when she crawled into bed or roused in the morning, and often when she moped on the couch, waiting for him to come home.Â
Tug.Â
It was an insistent, sharp little nudge. She had yet to understand why it was occurring or what it meant. She hoped Richard would help when he returned.Â
Tug, tug.Â
That one woke her up.Â
Tug, tug, tug.Â
She rubbed her eyes blearily and glanced at the clock on her nightstand. 2:36 AM blinked back at her.Â
Tug, tug, tug, tug.
There were footsteps on the stairs. Had she missed the quiet thud of the boom-tube in their basement? Her senses were usually far more acute - why were they dulled now?
Tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug.
Kory sat up and switched on the light, reaching for the t-shirt she had been snuggling. She drew it to her chest, just in case her home intruder wasnât her husband.Â
Tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug -
The door flew open with a loud bang, revealing a tall man with dark circles under his eyes, and the biggest grin she had ever seen. Koryâs heart caught in her throat, her eyes growing wide with excitement.
âRichard,â she breathed, scrambling out of bed.
Her husband dropped his suitcase and opened his arms, catching her and immediately drawing her into a scorching kiss.
âI missed you, I missed you,â she chanted, tears pooling in her eyes when he pulled away.Â
Dick squeezed her waist gently and pressed his lips to her forehead, âI missed you too, Kor. Iâm sorry I couldnât come sooner.â
âYou are forgiven,â she murmured, her fingers curling around the collar of his jacket, âonce you remove this and come to sleep with me.â
He gave her a wicked grin and straightened his shoulders.
âYou could remove it for me.â
Tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug.
Kory blushed, smiling sweetly as she tore the jacket from his form. Dick yelped and looked at the tattered remains in dismay.
âOops,â she giggled, floating out of his reach, âdid I do that?â
He laughed - another sound she had sorely missed in his absence - and lunged, tackling her to the bed, his hand tickling her sides relentlessly while she thrashed between the sheets.
âSay youâre sorry, Kor.â
âI - will - not,â she replied defiantly, shrieking when his fingers danced along her ribcage.
Tug, tug, tug, tug, tug.
Dick stilled, ceasing his attack to study her curiously.
âRichard?â
He touched her cheek and sighed, pressing his forehead against hers.Â
âItâs nothing, babe, I just...felt something strange. And being with you, itâs like itâs filling me, yâknow? Like weâre connected.â
She gripped his shoulders and tilted her head upwards, rubbing their noses together.Â
âI have been feeling it as well. Quite literally - it has been the strangest sensation as if something has been pulling me towards you.â
âYeah?â
Kory nodded, a dreamy smile gracing her lips.
âI love you, Richard.â
âLove you too, beautiful.â
She watched him unbuckle his belt and fumble out of his jeans, stripping his t-shirt off and tossing it aside. Her eyelids felt heavy, as if they could give way to sleep any moment, and it was all because he was here. It wasnât a dream. Richard was home.Â
Kory waited for him to get under the covers, his body quick to tangle with hers beneath their soft duvet. She leaned over and switched off the lamp, running her fingers through his hair while she made herself comfortable.
âGoodnight, beloved,â she whispered, and her heart fluttered when his voice, for the first time in weeks, answered back.
Tug, tug, tug.Â
Sleep came easily to Kory. It did not for Dick.
Tug, tug, tug, tug, tug, tug.Â
Not for lack of trying of course. His wife was snuggly and warm and, usually, the perfect sleeping partner. But there was something flashing brightly behind his tightly shut eyes, and he couldnât figure out what the hell it was.
âKor.â
âMmmph.â
ââou using your phone right now?â
âNoooo.â
Tug.
âTurn off the light.â
âI did, Richard.â
âNo, you didnât.â
âMmmph.â
âBabe, Iâm serious,â he said, blinking one eye open, âweâre both too tired for anyth - what the fuck.â
He shot up, tearing the covers away from her body.
âKory, wake up.â
âRichard, I have not slept at all in three weeks, can this not wait for one night?â
âNo, it canât,â he said desperately, âthis is too weird.âÂ
She opened her eyes and sat up, shooting her husband a dirty look before following his line of sight to her stomach.Â
Which was, indeed, glowing. A lot. Bright, electric green waves of energy came off of her skin, sizzling in the air.
She gasped and clapped her hands to her mouth.
âOh...oh, oh, oh, oh, Richard, we, I, it is -Â â Kory waved her hands excitedly, unable to find the words.
Dick stared at her in confusion.
âWords, Kory, words.â
âBaby!â She burst, throwing herself on top of her husband, âI am pregnant, we are having a baby, Richard!â
âHoly shit,â Dick blurted out, a bright grin breaking across his tired face, âOh my God, are you serious?â
âLike I have never been before,â she mumbled tearfully, burying her face in his chest, âmy energy has not been calling to yours, our child has been calling for you. Tamaranean fetuses require a steady supply of energy from both the mother and the father, I cannot believe I did not see it sooner.â
âSo thatâs it then, right? Weâre having a baby? Iâm gonna be a dad?âÂ
Kory giggled at the wonderstruck look on her husbandâs face.Â
âWe are having a baby, beloved,â she said happily, leaning up to kiss his jaw.Â
He folded her up into his embrace, his hand never leaving her glowing belly (which they had decided would be the first issue to discuss in the morning, provided they were actually able to fall asleep), stroking her skin until he had memorized the feel of her all over again. She laced their fingers together, heart so full she wondered if it could possibly burst.Â
Tug.
Their little family was growing. It was all she had ever asked for.Â
The nights were never long enough when they were together. Dick swears he could lie with her forever, just the two of them, touching and tasting and laughing until the rest of the world disappeared. He loves her, so much that he used to wonder if he would ever be able to love someone as much as he adored his wife.Â
I had wanted to share a few one-shots for my tumblr valentines earlier this week, but after getting swamped with a paper and a surprise fever, I realized I would not be posting anything in time for the day of hearts :( That said, I still have some gifts to upload so Iâll be staggering these out over the next few days in celebration of my favorite ships and my favorite people on this website and in this fandom.
So, without further ado, my first Valentine goes to @fireflyxrebel , without whom my starx fics + writing presence here would not have existed. Thanks for always being down to chat, Ava, and being the sweetest + most supportive mom friend ever. Youâre an astoundingly beautiful, creative, TALENTED human. Love you lots!
Please note - if youâre using tumblr mobile to read this, the formatting will be 100% fucked. Iâm not sure why, but there are a lot of random instances of italicization + gross spacing. Sorry <3
Also, not to used cursed terminology, but itâs a tiny bit lemon scented. Or is it lime scented? Thatâs right, folks, we are BACK on the citrus scale.Â
donât think twiceÂ
How did I live in a kingdom of thieves?Â
And people who say things they donât really mean?
Youâre only everything I ever dreamed of.
You must be kidding me, did you really think I could say no?
- Donât Think Twice, Hikaru Utada
It wasnât until they had crossed the threshold, their limbs entangled as they landed on the bed, her veil askew and his dress shirt half-unbuttoned, that they realized what they had done.
âWife,â Gar whispered, nuzzling her neck sweetly. He curled his body around hers, breathing a sigh of relief as they sank into the soft duvet of their bed.Â
âIt doesnât feel real, does it?â She mused, studying the silver band on her finger with wide eyes, âafter everything thatâs happened, I didnât know if things would ever work.â
He chuckled and pressed a gentle kiss to her temple.
âYou had doubts?â
âYou didnât?âÂ
âWell, I wasnât sure if youâd make it all the way down the aisle and still say yes.â
She elbowed him sharply, rolling her eyes.Â
âCareful, itâs not too late to get an annulment.â
âYouâd just do it all over again in two months like we planned,â he said cheekily.Â
Raven smiled, raising her hands to cup his face.Â
âYeah,â she agreed, âyouâre probably right about that.â
Her cheeks were pink when she leaned in, brushing her lips against his teasingly. He whimpered when she pulled away, catching her palm and pressing his mouth against it, watching her with dark eyes.Â
âHelp me get ready for bed?âÂ
The desire that had pooled in his stomach gave way to pure adoration. He nodded and clambered off the bed, bounding over to her side and scooping her up into his arms.Â
She suppressed a giggle and wrapped her arms around his neck, allowing him to carry her to the bathroom.Â
Gar flicked on the light and whistled, admiring the polished marble and crystalline glow that filled the room.
âNot bad for a shotgun wedding, huh?â
âWe owe Kori big time, you know. She was ready to cry when I told her we wanted to elope early.â
âIâm surprised she didnât follow us here.â
Raven snorted, patting his chest to let her down, âBelieve me, she tried. I had to remind her several times that we would still be having a formal ceremony in December. This was her compromise - she insisted on booking the most expensive honeymoon suite in Vegas in exchange for her silence. I have no idea how sheâs going to explain that gap in their finances to Dick.â
âBest sister ever,â Gar commented affectionately, nipping his wifeâs ear, âokay, where do we start?â
She touched the top of her head and frowned, wrapping her fingers around the band of the veil that was half-attached to her hair.Â
âThere are some pins here that you could take out. And then start on the buttons on the back of my dress? I can take the choker off myself.â
âSure.âÂ
Her hands went to the clasp of the white ribbon around her neck while his combed through her hair, unpinning the purple waves that were contained beneath the sheer fabric. He glanced around the bathroom, his gaze landing on the massive claw-foot tub that sat a few feet away from them.Â
âHey, Rae, how does a bath sound?â He murmured, sliding the veil off of her head and placing it beside the sink.
âBubbles and all?âÂ
âIâm on it, can you finish your dress by yourself?â
She nodded, smiling at his reflection in the mirror.
âJust undo the first few buttons and I can do the rest.â
He took his time with them, not missing the opportunity to press his fingers against her bared skin. Her eyes fluttered shut while he did so, her mouth falling open when his breath warmed her flesh.Â
âDonât get distracted,â she warned.
âMe? I would never,â he teased, pressing a kiss to the back of her neck before seating himself on the edge of the tub. He turned on the faucet and placed his fingers beneath the flowing water absentmindedly, his attention fixed on her.Â
Gar spent more than his fair share of time wondering how heâd been so lucky. How, after years of fighting and facing the worst of the world, he had wound up tasting heaven and claiming a piece of it for himself. Moreover, allowing himself to be taken time and time again by its allure, ferocity, and wit.Â
Even in the weeks leading up to their wedding, a tiny part of him was certain it wouldnât happen. It couldnât happen. Arella would withdraw her blessing. Steve and Rita would blow them off in favor of a mission that required their immediate assistance. Something would get in the way. And as the first ceremony neared, Gar began to panic.Â
On the sixteenth of October, two full months before their scheduled trip to Azarath and the subsequent white wedding they had planned to host in Jump, Gar asked Raven to marry him again.
She had only raised an eyebrow, shutting the novel in her lap and setting it aside on her bed.Â
âI feel like we already had this conversation.â
âI mean, now. Like, now, now.â
She pursed her lips.Â
âWhat about the actual wedding?â
Gar shook his head, bouncing with excitement.Â
âDonât you see? None of that stuff matters, Rae, not when we have each other, not when we want to get married and weâre ready to do it.â
Raven crossed her arms, eyeing him suspiciously.
âOkay, whatâs wrong with you? I thought you were excited about doing a bigger thing. The whole Doom Patrol promised to be there, everyone in the Network is showing up, Vicâs been planning the âbachelor party of the centuryâ for ages. My momâs even convinced the Head Priestess to let us bring the others to Azarath for our binding. We canât just cancel on these people, Gar.â
âIs there something so wrong with me wanting to be with you for the rest of my life as soon as possible?â
She scowled.
âWhat is this, do you think weâre going to call it quits five minutes before or something? I planned on being with you for the rest of my life the moment I said yes to you. Isnât that enough?â
âIf words were enough, I wouldnât have proposed at all.â He snapped, running a hand through his hair.Â
âOkay,â Raven said sharply, rising from her seat, âI donât want this to go any further. We arenât fighting about this. So you can either tell me why you suddenly want to elope or you can walk away from this conversation, and we can pretend it didnât happen.â
Gar squeezed his eyes shut and sighed tiredly, rubbing the side of his face.
âSorry. That was too far, I didnât mean it like that.â
âI know.â
âYou know I love you more than anything in the world.â
âI know that too.â
âI just, ah, I guess Iâve been waiting for something to go wrong,â he confessed, fidgeting nervously, âVic and Sarah had to postpone their wedding twice because things came up. Kori almost died three weeks before her bachelorette party and Dick broke six bones saving someone else on their honeymoon. Iâm so fucking tired of being afraid, Rae. I donât want to lose you. I donât want anything to get in the way. I just want you to be my wife.â
Her glare softened immediately and she stepped forward, circling her arms around his waist and pressing her cheek to his chest.
âIâve been picking up waves of concern from you for weeks,â she confessed, âI just didnât know if you wanted to talk about it. Iâm sorry, Gar.â
He dropped a kiss on her head, rubbing her back soothingly.
âI got defensive. I shut you out. Thatâs my fault, not yours. But I still want to get married, right now.â
âGar -â
âWe donât have to cancel our other plans, Rae, nothing needs to change! We can sneak off to Vegas tonight and get hitched and nobody would even need to know -â
She rolled her eyes, snuggling into his form.
âBold of you to assume Kori wouldnât find out.â
â- about us at the end of the day, right? I just want to be married to you. I want to call you my wife. No matter what goes wrong tomorrow or next week or the night before our marriage.â
âOkay.â
âSo I donât see why we canât - wait, what?â Gar blinked and gripped her arms, pulling her away from him to study her face, âYou mean it? We can go?â
She smiled and touched his cheek.Â
âI love you, Gar. I would never say no to marrying you, no matter when you had asked. I just didnât want you to make a choice you couldnât defend.â
âSo...weâre getting married? Tonight?âÂ
Raven nodded, gazing into his bright eyes.Â
âLet me talk to Kori and see if she can cover for us. Go ahead and pack some stuff together.â
He morphed into a wolf and let out a loud howl, bounding around her excitedly before knocking her to the ground and licking her face enthusiastically.
âDown - boy,â she managed between laughs, scratching behind his ears. She rubbed her cheek against his affectionately and rose from the ground, adjusting her cloak and heading into the hallway.Â
It would be a few days before they managed to slip away, having obtained permission and âthe essentials that you must take with you if you wish for me to keep your secret!â that were so lovingly bestowed upon them by their dear sister. But in the end, it was absolutely worth it.
âGAR.âÂ
A loud shriek from Raven broke him out of his reverie, drawing his attention to the scalding water that was burning his hand. Gar yelped and pulled his hand away immediately, wincing at the stinging sensation on his reddened skin.
âIdiot,â Raven scolded, taking his hand in hers tenderly. She clasped her cool fingers around it and closed her eyes, breathing deeply.
âAzarath Metrion Zinthos.â
A gentle trickling washed over the injury, soothing it until the pain had faded to a faint tingling.Â
âThanks, babe. My bad.â
âGo and change out of your suit, Iâll finish making up our bath,â she ordered, shaking her head.
He obeyed immediately, loosening his tie and placing it with the growing pile of her discarded accessories. His suit jacket, dress shirt, and undershirt landed in a crumpled heap on the floor, his dress pants and socks following soon after. A fluffy robe hung invitingly beside the bathroom door and he couldnât resist slipping into it.
âDone,â he chirped, approaching his new wife, who was also swathed in a fluffy robe identical to his.Â
She smiled up at him, drawing her fingers out of the tub and shaking them dry.Â
âItâs almost ready, though Iâm tempted to just curl up in bed wearing these.â
âThe goal is to get naked, not bundle up.â
âMaybe your goal is to get naked,â she shot back, âbut mine is to be cozy.â
He grinned.
âWe can get cozy and naked. Let me warm you up -â
âOh look, the bath is full,â Raven said airily, smirking when his ears drooped, âIâll add the bubbles, you can light the candles.â
âDo you plan on teasing me all night or...?â
She flashed him a rare grin, her dark eyes glinting mischievously.
âWould I really be your wife if I didnât?â
Gar pouted and wrapped his arms around her waist, burying his face in her hair.Â
âI love you.â
âI know.â
âI love you.â
âI know,â she breathed, placing her hands on his and lacing their fingers together.
âWe did it. Weâre married, Rae.â
His nose sought out her skin, his tongue tracing the shell of her ear slowly. Her dreamy sighs were music to his ears.
The jewel in the center of her forehead flared black for a moment, the lights around them flickering in tandem with each brush of his mouth against her body. A growl rumbled from deep within his chest, the echoes of his inner beast stirring to recognize their mate. She smelled sweet and clean, like a burst of fresh air on the ocean breeze.Â
âGar,â she murmured, stepping away from the tub, âwait.â
She pushed him off of her gently, biting her lip as she studied him in the soft lighting. His eyes were a warm, dark, emerald shade of green, filled with desire and happiness and longing. His shoulders had broadened in the last few years, complementing his added height and sharpened jaw. But beneath the figure of a man, she could feel the same boy who had called her weird while never truly minding her weirdness. His heartbeat always quickened at her touch. His gaze always brightened. His ears always twitched.
âI love you too,â she whispered, slowly loosening the belt around his waist and pushing the robe off his shoulders. She turned her head, and he followed her gaze, promptly stripping out of his boxers and climbing into the tub. Slowly, with a quiet hesitancy he hadnât witnessed in a long time, she raised her hand, sending black flashes of energy to each candle that had been placed in the bathroom. Her eyes glowed, and the dimmer on the light switch lowered, leaving them in darkness lit only by gentle flares.Â
He watched unashamedly as the robe slipped from her form, revealing a band of dark blue lace that hugged her breasts and hips tightly. A strip of white lace sat high on her thigh, looking strikingly bright against the smooth grey of her skin.Â
âSomething borrowed and something blue,â Raven said shyly, âI figured we could keep things a little traditional.â
âYeah,â Gar replied, mouth going dry at the sight of his near-naked wife in the candlelight, âSomething old and something new?â
She neared the edge of the tub, bracing herself with his shoulder and climbing in.Â
âThe necklace was my motherâs. Iâll wear it again in December. As for the new...â, she stroked his hair gently, âI plan to keep my new husband on my body for the rest of the night. That counts, right?â
âWorks for me,â he mumbled, running his hands up her legs.Â
âCareful with the garter, thatâs borrowed. Feel free to tear into the underwear as you please.â
She stood before him, sighing with delight when he gripped her hips and pressed a kiss against the curve of her waist. He hooked his fingers beneath the garter and slid it down her leg slowly, tossing it in the direction of his discarded clothes before focusing on the dark lace that curved around her ass.
âHell yes,â he hissed, nipping at the seams with his teeth.Â
Bathwater splashed over the edge as his enthusiasm overcame him. She giggled and thrashed in his hold, her laughter turned to breathless moans and pants and cries, some of which were so animalistic they rivaled his own. Waves rode out into a quiet stillness until there was only her body and his, two pieces wrapped together to form a whole. He stroked her skin gently, lavishing the parts that had been darkened by his relentless mouth. They toweled off and drained the tub, wrapped in their fluffy robes once more, and snuggled into their bed, rejoining their bodies over and over again.
When morning came, it was to bring forward the two lovers into the life they truly deserved.Â
I want you for a lifetime, so if youâre gonna think twice, baby,Â

happy lunar new year, friendly reminder that jimmy kimmel and ellen degeneres inviting marie kondo on to their show to âtidy upâ their writerâs rooms only to dismiss her advice, belittle her methods, make fun of her use of a translator, and act like ungrateful children in the face of her genuine attempts to help is literally the most basic form of Othering from white people. Itâs another form of commodification by white people of non-white cultures that is being willingly shared, and it doesnât get any less racist when it comes from âprogressivesâ, be they a liberal white woman or a âWokeâ news punditÂ
like sheâs already being attacked and villainised into this aggressive book-burning harpy by white people on twitter who thinks having a full bookshelf can substitute having a personality, and now mainstream network talk shows are coming after her as well.Â
I donât care if you think âthis is just how Degeneres/Kimmel does comedyâ, I donât care if they did it for laughs. The overall tone of their segment is to show their reaction; to show how ridiculous and childish they find the KonMari method. We get it, white liberals donât have time for wishy-washy Japanese mindfulness woo-woo and their enlightened views make them too rational to take seriously any other cultures that are based in spirituality and animism
Kimmel made a long, over-winded joke that deliberately put both Marie and her translator into an embarrassing situation, deliberately highlighting and mocking Marieâs lack of English, and then mocked the Shinto cultural background that Marieâs methods come from. Ellenâs writer acted as if Marie was going to overturn his office, then shoves Kim Kardashianâs ass into Marieâs face, then admit that heâs going âput everything back anywayâ after Maries leaves. Both of them act as if her âgreeting ritualâ was some form of Weird Hokey Japanese Gimmick.Â
White âprogressive liberal voicesâ are turning non-white cultures either into a commodity or into a joke without any self-reflection or foresight into the damage theyâre potentially doing. They take no care in the hurt that they as white comedians are sowing; in turning Marieâs traditional Japanese cultural values and contexts into a joke, theyâre making the act of othering and disrespecting non-white cultures more normative and easier to do. Their activism and political commentary is nothing but performative white bullshit.
When we share donât share our cultures, white people turn it into a hip commodity, then cry PC-gone-mad when we take offense. When we willingly share our cultures, it gets turned into a punchline. It doesnât matter if the dismissal and commodification come from someone wearing a MAGA cap or a white liberal icon; the lack of respect still stems from the same root of privilege.Â
i was really upset when i found out she got disrespected on Ell*n Degenerate and K*mmel.. iâm glad though that the majority of the comments under their videos and segments mentioned how they were in bad taste and even called it racist. itâs good that alot of people seem to have caught on that
iâm also glad to find out that besides this really adorable one with Hasan, she got a respectful segment with Stephen Colbert. he even mentioned her achievements and how she is influential
i also appreciate how Colbert said that theyâd be having a translator today because his Japanese is rusty and said that he knows that Kondoâs English is much better.. that was really refreshing to hear
that being said, 2 good American appearances doesnât mean that the problems and issues OP raised are already solved. we really have to be aware about this and use our voices to educate people and dismantle these racist, xenophobic, and misogynistic ideals, which are linked to the backlash Marie Kondo undeservedly received
