As someone who finished her undergrad at 40, I feel this later update. Take your time. Progress made at any speed is progress.

Life occurs at different speeds for everyone. Don’t compare yourselves to others. We’ll all get there in our own time.

As a community college student who’s transferring to a four year after this semester I have to tell you all to seriously consider going to community college before state school or private university. It’s cheaper and your education isn’t going to be less than what you would get at a four year

Listen. I won’t say college is pointless because in this day and age employers are looking for a degree of some kind even for the jobs that don’t need it or even relate to it. But from somebody who went to a four year college, had to change majors because my initial major got dropped from the school, is now working in a field totally unrelated to what I got my degree and minors in, and is in quite some debt… Going to community college (to try it out, get an associates, take a year, learn a trade, etc.) is a great option. Don’t let anyone give you shit.

I really love this. So many are dead-set on the view that people cannot better themselves but that simply isn’t true. Everybody deserves a second chance and everybody has the ability to better themselves.
