What a life do they have

parties, alcohol, lots of girlfriends

talking about trends and expensive shit

Get off the street! they tell me

they mean it well

but where do i find

people like me?

People who like art and books

crochet, movies and legos

who live high on music

in between plants and teddy bears

instead of empty bottles and barchairs

I don't want the gossip about your friends' ex

or pictures about your new car

I want to discuss philosophy and nature

or not to talk at all

I want to hold hands on a playground swing

or write poems together in a cozy café

I'm a child with an old soul

out of place in a time like this

People say I'm strange

sorry that I'm not interested in the stuff you like

I just wish I could find my people

Cold souls warming each other

The 'strangers' by the fire

In silence we tell each other more

than your 'besties' will ever tell you.

Always put others first
