y’all love the morally gray, snarky, grief stricken characters until it’s a woman. i’ve seen so much discourse regarding female characters who display the exact same character traits as male leads and are criticized for it while the men are praised. let women be cruel and vindictive. let them deal with their grief and trauma in destructive ways. let them be real. give them the same treatment you would give to your favorite male love interest.

i wish we had gotten to see more of dorian and lysandra’s friendship. we could have had a nesta/azriel friendship in the works. after that one scene in skull’s bay during empire of storms when she defended him against aedion should have been means for such a good duo. they are so incredibly similar, even in their powers, and mirror each other fairly well. lysandra saw his suffering and sympathized with him and never once judged him for his past. dorian was never afraid of her like most people were. he treated her as an equal and with the respect she had yearned for with men.
