Killer Likes Candy

Last night’s Sherlock episode was good. A masterpiece? No. But did it provide good cinematography, an entertaining plot, and good character development? Yes.

Everyone needs to tone their anger down a few pegs. Fine, John did not come out gay for Sherlock – his wife had just died for christ sake, do you think he would have rebound so quickly? The same goes for Sherlock telling John that he loved him, it would have been immature and terrible timing.

Why doesn’t anyone talk about the strength of these characters and the extremely human features they have? People are getting crazy about John beating Sherlock while it was the most reasonable thing to happen. His wife had just died while Sherlock vowed to keep her safe. He was so blind with anger and grief and had to find someone to blame that he didn’t even think about it not being his fault (as she chooses to die in order to save him).

Why doesn’t anyone talk about Mycroft not being the cold calculating man we thought he was? And why are there people who say that the John in the last season wasn’t the TRUE John? NOTHING is true and defined, i think that’s the whole point of this last season. People aren’t either good or evil, they are just people that act the way context makes them act. That’s the whole point of Eurus’ game and the final revelation of episode 3: Eurus being evil because of how people treated her, because she was left alone to deal with such great of intelligence that she herself couldn’t bear. 

Every character in this show has developped so much from almost stereotipical form to real human being and this happened through such great episodes, not only in plot but in film making as well, and all you really care about is Johnlock not being canon? Well i’m sorry for that ‘cause i think you didn’t have the chance to enjoy this amazing show for what it was and what it was meant to be from the beginning.

Okay, so I think this has gone on for long enough and someone needs to say something. I’m sure, in fact I know people already have and I’m sure I’ll get the same result but I’m getting sick and tired of this. Sherlockians, or Johnlock people, whichever, you need to get over yourselves. And don’t give me that “well if you’re sick of it then get off tumblr” bullshit because that’s not going to solve the problem is it? You’re all still on here being, to be put quite simply, bullies and that’s a problem.

 Sherlock has been on for a while now and they’ve had a great run, but I think it’s a tragic case of fans bringing down a show. For years and even more so in these past few weeks, I’ve seen ‘fans’ do nothing but complain, insult and even verbally attack other fans and the creators of the freaking show they love so much themselves for not sharing the same interests that they do. I’ve seen posts go on about how terrible the writers and creators of Sherlock are and why? Because you didn’t get Johnlock to be canon? Because you didn’t get the finale you wanted? I’ll admit the premise of the show has changed a bit since me and my sister started watching it but is that really worth belittling people for? No it’s not.               

I know so many people who have turned away from Sherlock because they are so put off by the fans, and some people I know won’t even watch the show because of them. That really kills a show, guys. It kills their ratings, and more importantly it kills their motivation to do anything with the show. How would you like it if you had to write something and you knew no matter what you did, the viewers wouldn’t like it? What would you do? I think what the writers and creators of Sherlock have done is sucked it up and wrote it all out anyway because ‘it is what it is.’ And speaking of it is what it is, I’m sorry, but Johnlock isn’t there and you can’t be throwing hissy fits just because it’s not. I’m not being homophobic and I don’t think anyone is; it’s a cute idea, really cute, and Sherlock and John have had cute moments together in the show but it’s still an idea. People can write stories, and make artworks about it, that’s fine. That’s totally fine, that’s the point of fandoms but you don’t send death threats and hate mail to the creators. That’s never okay, I don’t care how much you defend it. Threatening people is NOT okay.  

 That’s not to say that there aren’t some fantastic fans out there. There are for sure. I’ve met lots of really sweet and loyal Sherlock fans in person, and I know for some people they’ll always see Johnlock and hell go for it. That’s not the issue. If that’s your otp and you want to ship Sherlock and John? Do it. No one’s saying you can’t. What I’m trying to say is just don’t be a child about it. Kids cry and scream when they don’t get what they want, don’t do that. You didn’t like the finale, fine. Didn’t like the season, fine, and maybe some of you had differing reasons as to why but to be honest I’m not seeing them so you’ll have to forgive me in advance.

All I am reading is you want Moftiss to rot in hell because you didn’t get your Johnlock ending?? Are you insane? How can you basically be like this? You send them to hate and you call it queerbaiting? What the hell? Like there are people who are not Johnlock shippers and yet you say the show is horrible and it should never ever come back? Only because you didn’t get what you wanted? Nono of us did. The episode was great. You know what? Because love conquers al. That’s why. You just don’t see that the love they could be talking about was about the family?
