today i learned that the finnish word for ‘hazardous waste’ is ongelmajäte, which can also translate as ‘problematic garbage’ and my roommate and i immediately agreed this is a word that belongs on tumblr.

if i were to make a video game it would have an option/hotkey that changes the format of the game, so you can play it as a visual novel or an rpgmaker game or a doom wad or an NES game or an audiobook with calming visual slideshow and rain sfx or a freddi fish esque point-and-click game. and you can just freely cycle through them. this is why i will never make a video game

i so badly want this to be a thing because i bet you the speedruns would be nuts. someone would figure out that swapping to visual novel mode after going to a specific spot in nes mode would glitch the game into switching story routes and letting you keep items you shouldn't have or something lol
