the thing that always bugs me about abortion narratives in movies and other media is people will always say "this movie isn't prolife, it's about one woman choosing and she chose to keep it in this case" and like I understand. but fiction was written -- she did not choose anything, she was written to choose to keep it. and why is it, I ask, that every movie I've seen that has an abortion decision as a major plot point (and isn't a documentary) has her keeping it in the end. individually, these plots may feel fine and well rounded within their own movies, but as a constant trend (and especially how triumphant and positive the aftermath of keeping it tends to be framed) all I can read it is as the narrative saying "you can choose, but the right choice is to keep it." and I don't care for that.

Or when they choose to abort, some other character forces them to keep it because apparently their kid can save the world
