i love it in carisi’s first couple seasons when everyone has to tell him to shut the fuck up bc he won’t stop chatting w victims/witnesses/suspects/serial killers/randos on the street

one of my favorite things about carisi is the way that like he was at his church for marriage classes before proposing and he was in benson’s office confessing that he’s afraid to have a new baby and doubts himself before nicky was born and it’s like. he was basically born to be a husband and a father and could do it well in his sleep and still feels the need to prepare and make sure he does the best he can

one of the things that makes me emotional about rollins/carisi esp rewatching is the way that they weren’t really friends before she got pregnant with jesse. they would work together but they didn’t seek each other out and they weren’t especially close - he’s very distant from everything she and the rest of the team have going on in s16. but he’s the first person to notice that she’s pregnant and talk to her about it, when she hadn’t told anyone, and he’s the one taking her to the ER every week and sitting there when she started having complications, and cooking for her and dropping food off when she was on bed rest, and timing contractions when she was in labor, and wheeling her out of the hospital, and taking the baby out with her when she was “going stir crazy” on maternity leave, and at her apartment holding jesse while they watch horrible reality tv. and it’s literally in those moments that they get to know each other and that they become friends. when she was sick and alone and even her mom left and she felt like she couldn’t do it, like she “messed up” when she chose to have the baby. their entire friendship and eventual marriage and family is built on him just showing up when he didn’t have to

when they go have dinner with carisi’s mom and she keeps yapping about how he can’t cook and he can’t take care of kids, the only two things we know the character can do

been rewatching s16 and it cracks me up so bad every time rollins is annoyed by carisi or incredulous bc it’s like. girl idk what you’re scoffing at that’s YOUR man
