Is it even possible to have a perfect human world if its rulers lack what makes them human?

The sooner I finish this one, the sooner I can wrap up other projects. Hopefully, like, with lots of HOPE, I can finish "What Are the Odds" before the new season starts. Yayyy! After this, expect more of Heartaches AU!

A follow up after some time, days perhaps from the last comic. Nathalie now can comunicate back and is fully conscious. She's getting better guys... Let's include the boys, shall we?

So yeah... that's what I've been doing so far...but mostly working in What are the Odds PT3, drawing some nice muscles here and there :)

Some questions now that we're here:

Well there is gabenath here, and YES there is planned for Heartaches AU, and I think you won't have to squint to notice it.

It's Eric from Nat's POV. I tried the same POV again for this comic now. The round persepective of the eye is kinda tricky for me still, but thank you!

Froggy's parallel in this universe. In this AU, Franky wasn't created because of someone's absence, but rather through the company of this person. He isn't perfect (he's actually pretty ugly), but he represents a daily life that's steady and peaceful.

I didn't know how to add the part with Amelie's family, so just imagine Colt and Felix somewhere in there.

And yes, even though Eric has some of Emilie’s features, she’s not his mother. Nathalie is adamant that Eric is entirely her responsibility.

The good thing is that emotional bonds can always develop between them. Emilie loves him like a son, and Eric sees her almost as a second mother, but remains formal about it and always calls her Mrs. Emilie. Something similar to Adrien and Nathalie relationship, you already know :)

Oh, and just in case! The difference between the hearts. The heart between Gabe and Emilie is solid. Visible and well established. Basically, marriage. Whereas the heart between Nat and Emilie is sketched and subtle. But it’s obviously there, representative of their romantic relationship, hidden from the public eye.

First! What happened when the Agrestes arrived to the hospital (without Adrien) BEFORE Nat woke up.

As for what happened after... Eric is staying with the Agrestes. Nat woke up for a bit and then went to sleep almost inmediately. She's tired you know... so here it is, After...

My boy reached failure almost five times the day before. Understandable that he feels sick now.

Details! In this AU, Adrien's room is different. Since Eric stays over from time to time, Adrien now has a bunk bed that looks like a fortress, with different levels and everything.

I would both kill and die for Eric. My boy. My poor baby. I'm still incoherent. I had to just stare at a wall for ages to process all that. Hrngghhggghh

A nine-year-old boy pushing his mental and physical capacity to the limit to save his mother. Racing against time and the inevitable.

Here’s a not-so-fun fact: if you notice, in every panel where is Eric's POV, there’s a pulse. That pulse isn’t his. it’s Nathalie’s. And that’s because his amok is positioned right on her chest. On top of her heart. He can detect problems in advance. And somehow hear them.

So not only was Eric’s adrenaline through the roof, along with the stress of his mother dying right next to him, but her heart was screaming louder than his own, louder than the truck’s engine, and louder than the police siren. Like a reminder that silence could fall at any moment. Damn...

Oh, and also. Remember that little post about Eric’s opinion and trust in the others? Well… Emilie’s trust level dropped a tiny bit, while Gabriel’s went up. Isn’t that interesting?

Oh, and I almost forgot…

DID YOU GUYS THINK I WAS GOING TO KILL HER, HUH?! HAHA, NOPE. NUH UHH. NO SIR.
