This is my dog Hope. She’s six and a half and she is the sweetest, most annoying and greatest dog ever. She’s been with me through all my good and bad times and has kept me company through the worst depression waves and has comforted me through so much crying and always greets me and everyone with so much happiness.

I found out recently that Hope has tumors in her mammary glands and needs surgical care and a bunch of medical visits and exams to make her feel like her normal self again. She’s had waves of sickness where she throws up, has diarrhea and/or doesn’t eat and it has been so tough watching her go through this.

Hope is my partner in crime and my sweet girl. She’s annoying, whiny and very attached to me and I love her so much for everything she is. She loves to bark for minutes at a time until someone pays attention to her and loves randomly licking people’s toes and then running away. She’s honestly the sweetest, friendliest dog and the best one I could ever hope for.

When she first came into my life, I was suffering greatly due to my mental health and a lot of trauma and depression and having her by my side since then has helped me not feel alone and she has made me feel loved despite how worthless I feel. She means the world to me and I know I am the world to her.

I’m a college student who works part time but I don’t earn much money considering I only work weekends and a decent amount of my money goes to my food and necessities, but I have been trying to save up as much as I can for Hope because I refuse to let her suffer any longer than she has to. It’s really hard to save up with how little I make during the week, but I am determined to get Hope the help she needs.

I made a gofundme for her hoping there are people out there who are willing to help bring her what she needs and to help me help her. My goal is $1,500 along with what I am saving up myself to be able to manage her medical bills, follow up visits, special dietary foods and aftercare as well as whatever she needs to feel okay.

I hope that people will see in their hearts to help my baby girl go back to her normal, happy and hyper self. Any and all donations are welcome in whatever amount and I will genuinely appreciate if this post is shared through whatever way possible. If you can’t donate, please share!

You can hate Caitlyn Jenner. But if you misgender her, or make comments about her genitalia, you are a transphobe. 

And you can hate the military. But if you deliberately try to trigger veterans with PTSD, you are an ableist piece of shit. 

You do no get to pick and choose which people to treat fairly when it comes to acknowledging and combatting prejudice. 

During my first month with my therapist, I was given this worksheet to read and work on. She noticed that while I was talking with her, that my thoughts followed a lot of these. I wasn’t aware that my anxiety had brought me down paths of low self-worth and stinky thinking.  After a couple of weeks of talking with her, she gave me this worksheet to work on. 

“An important lesson for all children: “A boy and a girl run around on the grass at the park. The boy tackles the girl. The girl laughs. She gets up and runs away. She loves to run. He chases, she turns and they grab each other, tumble and land in a pile, giggling. After a few minutes, he tackles her again and she lands a bit hard. She is bigger and physical, but he more than holds his own in roughhousing. She pauses for a second. Then she laughs again; she’s still having fun. Dad gets his attention, and says, “If she’s not having fun, you have to stop.” He is two. He needs to hear this now, and so does she.
