I closed my eyes to make a

wish.

My mind was blank

I don’t need to

wish

for anything

because I

have you.

You convinced me that you were different.

You convinced me that I was different.

That I wasn’t like those others girls you talked about,

That I was better than them. 

That you cared more about me.

You convinced me that I was perfect

and that you would never do anything to lose me,

but things changed. 

And then, you convinced me that she was better.

That she was more worth your time.

That I was doing something wrong, but what?

I couldn’t figure it out.

I was convinced that we could make it work,

and that you would try. 

You would try harder and we’d be better than before.

But you didn’t. You left.
