I forgot why I ever started drawing in the first place and trying to rediscover why is like learning to love. very difficult

people pleasers aren’t tryna please others, they’re tryna circumvent any shame felt when disappointing any other. people these days are quick to say they’re just “too nice”, when it’s a bit more complex. saying yes when they mean no, not bc they wanna but bc the perturbation of somebody being upset with them at all, or the person just not liking them, as them is insufferable. people have been exercised to believe their worth depends on how others view them, when really everyone’s allowed to disappoint others & their worth isn’t tied to others approval.
