     “Ah...”           For a moment, it’s all he can say. It’s been too long since someone admitted to loving him. It melts just a little more of the ice that incases his heart. Just a little. How could he deny him now?      Arms extend, pulling the smaller into his chest, all while Jiwoon buries his face in the sandy blonde hair.            “Say it again. Tell me again. It’s been so long...”

     “Trying to butter me up?”           He’s only teasing, of course. There’s a small nod of his head as he welcomes the drink into his grasp. It’s cute of Leon to remember. Not what he expected, but it’s appreciated.      “You’re learning about me rather quickly, hm?” he continues, taking a small sip of the drink in hand. Ah, yes. Peppermint hot chocolate, not a lick of coffee to be tasted. He’s never been a fan of the bitter coffee taste. “You’re quite soft, did you know?”

     “ GOOD LUCK. ” LEON gives a shrug. “ Your choice on how you want to waste your time and breath. As far as I’m concerned, I know all I need to know about you. You’re one of the people who belong in a jail cell, rotting away. There’s nothing good about you. I have no interest. ”

     “I always get what I want, Leon. You’ll find out one way or another.”

       𝐎𝐇  𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓  𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐘  worked.    that’s  weird  to  think  about.    leon  watched  ji-woon  leave,  mildly  shocked  for  the  moment  before  turning  to  do  his  own  work  at  last.

         of  course  that  only  lasted  for  so  long.    the  last  thing  he  expected  while  working  on  a  gen  is  the  idol’s  voice  directly  by  the  rookie’s  ear,  his  face  a  deep  shade  of  red  as  he  blew  up  the  generator  with  a  squeak.    ❝  fuck  me-  ❞

     “Oh, I could.”           And he’s grinning again.      “How would you ever get any work done then, hm? Too sore, too exhausted to move... What would your friends say?”           Closer, his voice drops lower.      “Say please.”

     “ GOES TO SHOW you have no idea who I am. We can add ignorant to your traits then. I guess the better looking you are the more ugly the personality is. I’d much rather take someone considered vermin who holds a good heart than someone like you. I’m sure you’ll find someone just as awful as you to argue the rest of your life away with - and I thank whatever god might be out there that whoever ends up with you is sure as hell not going to be me. ”      “ You can just waste your time here. Say what you want, I’m not holding anything that comes out of that filthy mouth of yours with any value. You’ve never done a single good thing since I’ve seen you - and I doubt you’re capable. I used to think everyone had a bit of good in them and could be saved; but you’ve convinced me that I was wrong. Some people were just born rotten; I’m speaking to one right now. ”

     “Unfortunately for you, I have a habit of forming obsessions. Congratulations. Or my condolences, whichever you’d prefer. You’ve just gained a new nightmare to add to your list.”

           𝐀𝐍𝐃  𝐋𝐄𝐎𝐍  𝐈𝐒  back  to  being  completely  flustered.    the  rookie  began  tripping  over  simple  sounds  leaving  his  throat,  trying  to  manage  a  sentence  without  stammering.    ❝  uh…  l-leave  me  be  ?  ❞    that  didn’t  sound  any  sort  of  convincing,  shifting  lightly  on  his  feet.

     It’s clear he’s contemplating it. At least, it seems he is. A half shrug and he turns on his heel with a hum, heading off in the opposite direction.           But he isn’t gone long. A quick stroll around the realm before he’s sneaking back up and leaning down next to the rookie’s ear from behind.      “Nothing out there quite as fun as being your shadow, darling.”           And yes, he’s going to abuse this name from now on.

     “ I’M SURE IT doesn’t. Definitely why you’re refusing to talk about it. ” There’s a smug little chuckle, before he makes a dismissal motion with his hand. “ Why don’t you just leave then ? Clearly you and I have nothing to talk about since you’re too self absorbed to listen to a single word someone else has to say. ”

     “Why would I talk about a life before when, truly, this place is far better? Unending torment of vermin, ingrates, and invaluables like yourself? Ah, no. A life before has long been forgotten, unfortunately for you. Your words hold no sting.”           And he’ll come to lean against the nearest wall, propped up on his bat.      “You’re not impressing anyone here, little one. Perhaps you should rethink your actions.”

     “ WHAT WOULD SOMEONE like you know of a loving, happy family ? I wonder, which was it that ignored you so bad to make you like this ? Was it your mom ? You dad ? You want to start unpacking your shit ? Or do you think it’d be more well mannered of you to drop it before it gets worse for you ? ”       “ What was it they say ? Ah, right. Those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. ” He’s smug. Very smug. 

     “The puppy has finally grown his big boy teeth. Impressive.”           The grin is wider now.      “My past before this place? Means nothing to me. That was a good try, though, pretty. Afraid you’ll have to try harder.”

       𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐄  𝐄𝐘𝐄𝐒  𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐘𝐄𝐃  locked  to  the  killer,  a  light  frown  on  his  lips  as  he  kept  watch.    when  was  the  last  time  he’s  been  really  listened  to  in  such  a  way  ?    it  never  really  crossed  his  mind  when  he  gave  up  on  thinking  about  the  possibility  of  that  happening.    also  he’s  just  getting  used  to  ji-woon  just  following  him  around  rather  menacingly.    even  if  he  does  want  to  be  left  alone.

              ❝  …  yes,  it’s  the  name.  ❞    the  voice  was  quiet  when  he  managed  to  admit  it.    ❝  and  that  also  doesn’t  sound  guaranteed.  ❞

     “How could you possibly know that? You’ve never tried. Give it a go. Do your best. Make me really believe you wish to be left alone.”           A glance down as he taps the end of his bat against his shoe.      “Go on then, darling. I’m waiting.”

     “ NO, YOU OFFERED it with a condition attached. Which isn’t born of kindness. Kindness is giving something to someone in need with no conditions attached and without forcing them to ask you for it. So, don’t start with me. You’re just being an asshole right now. ” A pause, then a scoff. “ And thanks, I think I’d prefer to freeze than take something from you right now anyway. ”

     “Hardly. Is saying please not simply polite? Good manners? Surely, you’ve been taught better.”           A grin.       “Or was your mother gone before she had the chance?”

     “ WHAT KIND OF an offer is that ? That’s… hardly even done out of kindness. All you want is to see someone grovel, isn’t that it ? Why should I do that ? Your coat is thin material and doesn’t even do up. I’d still be cold. ”

     “It’s quite rude to be ungrateful when someone offers you respite from what ails you, Leon. But if you’ve chosen to freeze, if you’ve resigned yourself to ice, be my guest. Don’t ever say I never offered you any help. I simply offered the coat off my own back. And you do this? How disappointing.”
