wade: actually no, let me give up my chance to reunite with the 9 people who i said make up my entire fucking world, including the woman who i fucked up a space time continuum trying to bring back to life so i can forcibly pull logan away from finally being at peace and feeling as though his sacrifice matters. let me make him watch me die after i told him that i've been waiting for our team up for so long and that i think he's the best logan

logan: your hypocritical uno reverse card bullshit actually saved both of our lives and the entire fucking multiverse

vanessa is safe and alive and that's the most important thing. that's what matters.

but what the fuck is after this?

with vanessa safe, wade knows that whatever he does next has to keep her safe. that means no more mercenary work. okay, that's something new for wade, but if it means keeping her safe, that's what has to happen. he didn't enjoy being close to weasel anyway. no merc work means no sister margaret's means no weasel. weasel never had much empathy or sympathy for wade anyhow - it was because of weasel attacking his self esteem as soon as he mutated that contributed to wade being afraid to speak with vanessa again. when vanessa had died, weasel had served him liquor until he was close to his liver giving up on regenerating itself. so weasel and sister margaret's had to go.

with a ban on mercenary work in place, wade had to do something with his powers, didn't he? he could join the x-men - colossus had tried to convince him to join enough times. hell, colossus carried his exploded body parts back to the mansion to give wade a new purpose. surely he could just join the x-men.

but then wade remembered what had happened when wade was in the field encountering russell. he broke colossus's rule and killed the abusive fuckers without a bit of hesitation, and colossus was rightfully pissed. pissed enough to let the officers snap a mutant collar around wade's neck and march him into the ice box. did colossus know that that alone could have killed him?

how could wade return to the x-men, begging for a place in their ranks, when he still had the memory of what had happened? sooner or later, wade would encounter someone who deserved to die by his hand, and wade knew exactly how that would end up.

no mercenary work. no x-men.

so wade fiddles around with the cute little device and transports himself right into the sacred timeline to beg happy for a place on the avengers. and that turned out about as well as anyone could predict.

shit, that's starting to get restrictive.

okay, okay, fine. it would work out. wade would figure something out - he had time now, didn't he? let's pump the breaks on the job search, and focus on fixing the fuck ups that wade knew were going to happen.

save russell's life, meet up with domino and peter and maybe someone else fun to hang out with who was part of x-force. but let's shuffle some shit up real quick. wade's lived through the dp2 timeline once already. how boring would it be to just go through all of those motions again?

this time, he starts off with propositioning weasel to get the x-force team together to save russell to begin with. let's bypass the x-men and create a russell saving team without going through that mutant collar bullshit.

time for the interviews, but a couple folks are missing. peter shows up (and wade does a victory dance!) domino turns up, and that's perfect - exactly who he needed. and then shatterstar turned up, and honestly wade couldn't really think of a reason to keep him around, but he wouldn't let shatterstar get eviscerated by a helicopter blade this time around, so that works well enough.

with domino and shatterstar's help, wade gently abducts russell from the school before russell has the chance to go full fire fists on everyone and get the x-men's attention. a little light kidnapping was good for the soul, wasn't it?

so wade has domino and shatterstar escort russell to the mansion, going straight to the cold, metallic, meaty arms of colossus. russell tells piotr and the others about the abuse taking place at the school, and the x-men - plus domino - go with russell to free the rest of the students and escape the abuse of the headmaster.

wade wants to get close to russell again. truly, he does. he wants to bring russell straight back to vanessa and convince her to adopt him like every white woman brings stray dogs, cats, and wolves home to their boyfriends and husbands to adopt.

but he can't. just the glimpses he got of russell feel too painful - too wrong. wade looks at russell, and all he sees is vanessa in heaven telling him his heart isn't in the right place.

it's fine. russell doesn't need wade this time around. and that fact hurts just as much as russell needing him did.

wade hears later from domino that they all ran into cable in the process. the decision not to meet nathan was somehow easier than the decision not to befriend russell. it felt wrong to meet cable and know in another lifetime, they would homoerotically bond over the shared deaths of their families. but not in this life. wade still had vanessa. domino and the x-men would make sure cable got his family back too.

wade doesn't want to admit to himself that he still holds a grudge against cable for bringing him back to life. why the fuck did he even do that after all? just some nice deed because he pitied wade? wade would've been happy in heaven with vanessa, way happier than he would have been surviving in a universe with her dead. unable to remove his bitterness towards the situation, wade decided it was best to steer clear of cable this go around.

domino and cable make a good team, wade finds out later, working together to clean up all the stuff before it goes to shit in cable's lifetime. russell even joins up with them, wade hears later.

he'll mourn the friendships he could have made, but not nearly as much as he had mourned vanessa.

back to vanessa - the only thing that matters.

life goes on, but it's harder for wade than he ever could have expected.

he wakes suddenly from dreams of a bullet cutting through his heart. he dreams of russell's bloody corpse. he dreams of dying in the ice box. he dreams of vanessa bleeding out on the floor beneath him, puzzle pieces scattered all around them. he dreams of being alone - well and truly alone - and he wakes up wondering if he wouldn't be better off alone.

vanessa is desperate to help him, but he can't tell her everything that happened. he gives her the barest bones explanation he can manage.

you died. you were shot. because of me. i lost you. but i won't let it happen again, ness. i won't ever let you get hurt again.

he can't tell her about cable's sacrifice. he can't tell her about russell. he can't tell her why he can't go back to the x-men. he can't admit out loud that he refuses to return to mercenary work because that's how she died to begin with.

he does tell her about getting rejected from the avengers.

she doesn't laugh at him. she doesn't mock him. she doesn't tell him that it was stupid for him to ever think he could be so important to the world. she doesn't tell him that he's disappointing her more and more with every day that passes.

she tells him that he needs to show that he cares about something bigger than himself.

he can't tell her that all he cares about is her.

she tells him that she knows he's suffering, but she just wants to be allowed to suffer with him.

he can't tell her that every time he wakes up, he can't even remember what really happened and what didn't.

he tells her to say that she doesn't want him. he tells her to say that she doesn't want to be with him.

he can't tell her that the only way he can walk away from her is if she says she wants him to. he can't tell her that all he wants to hear is 'I'll always love you' but he can't bring himself to believe her when she says it.

he can't tell her that he thinks the entire universe would be better off without him.

he can't tell her that he managed to steal a mutant collar from the ice box just in case.

he can't tell her that no matter how much he wants everything to be over, he could never let himself die and leave her mourning him as he had mourned her.

she finally tells him that it's over, and he feels so much relief that he can stop burdening her that it feels like he can finally fucking breathe.

he misses her every single day. he misses waking up by her side every single fucking day of his life, but she's safe.

she found some corportate job, found an apartment that wasn't within shanking distance of the clubs she used to work at. she's finding new men who won't almost die of cancer, disappear on her once they turn into a pitiful sack of burnt flesh, won't put her life at risk just by knowing her.

it's not the life he wanted for himself. but he's still alive, and vanessa is still alive, and russell is still alive, and cable is still alive, and peter is still alive, and shatterstar is still alive, and domino is still alive and dopinder is still alive, and blind al is still alive, and colossus and ellie and yukio are still alive, and for some reason buck still sticks around.

and that's enough. it would've been enough for the rest of his life.

following a dishonorable discharge from the military after 14 years of service ( 10 as a green beret special forces sniper ) wade adopted the mercenary lifestyle. he lived alone in a shabby apartment in new york city, the only person he could consider a friend the bartender at sister margaret’s home for wayward girls - the bar full of mercenaries and low lives. after his latest ‘hit’ - threatening a teenager to stop stalking another teenager, a hit he did for free and without injuring the stalker - he met vanessa - a sex worker who had wade falling head over heels. after a lovely first date at an arcade, wade and vanessa begin a whirlwind romance over the course of the year (january - december).

in december, wade proposes to vanessa. a voice over reveals this was just a temporary commercial break of happiness from the trainwreck his life normally is - and would continue to be. immediately following his proposal, wade passes out in their bedroom. a trip to the doctor reveals that wade has stage 4 cancer - starting in his liver, the cancer has already spread to his prostate, lungs, and brain. vanessa urges him to seek treatment, and wade and vanessa embark on a ‘cancer world tour’. upon this tour, wade discovered doctors scamming patients, claiming to remove the tumors without surgery by using sleight of hand and animal organs. enraged, wade attacks and murders the crook in broad daylight. it’s then he understands that he’s snapped. he’s gone too far, and treatment alone won’t make him the wade vanessa still needs.

he’s offered one last opportunity. a creepy man in a suit sells him promises of superpowers. unable to make vanessa suffer through his last moments, wade agrees and goes to the workshop. it’s there he’s tortured for weeks. he’s injected with a mutant gene, but it’s suffering and the need to survive that will activate it. weeks are spent in icy cold water, lashes, drowning, fire. but still wade’s snark remains. making an enemy of the man torturing him - ajax (francis) - wade is forced into an air deprevation chamber that suffocates him, keeping him just on the brink of death. it’s now that he finally mutates. but it comes at a price.

his body is now able to recover from everything. his cells are constantly regenerating, constantly healing. but his skin is scarred, his vocal chords scarred, his appearance so horrifying and disfiguring that wade can’t go outside without suffering debilitating panic attacks. attempts to talk to vanessa are met with panic. after reducing the workshop to ash, there’s nothing left for wade to do besides track down francis and find a cure for his appearance.

a year is spent tracking francis down - bringing this organization that trafficks mutants as government weapons to its knees in the process. but wade is not a superhero. adopting the name deadpool and creating a suit to hide his ghastly appearance, wade’s attempts to kill francis are thwarted by colossus and negasonic teenage warhead - an x-man and x-man trainee sent to stop his rampage. he narrowly escapes, going home injured to his elderly blind (and former mafia) roommate, blind al. his plans to recover and strike once more are ruined with the news that francis knows where vanessa is. going to finally reveal himself to vanessa, insecurity pulls wade away from his once fiancee just long enough for francis to kidnap her.

final battle ensues with wade asking colossus and negasonic for help. vanessa is rescued (though not completely without injury) and wade is allowed a final confrontation with francis. but francis laughs at his search for a cure for an appearance, unknowingly sentencing himself to death in the process. though colossus tries to stop wade from murdering francis, wade fires the gun after realizing that there’s no way to save his appearance.

cue sappy face reveal with vanessa, who is able to embrace his scarred appearance and him, appearing thankful just to have him back.

in the wake of going so long away from vanessa, wade atones for his mistakes by trying to be a hero. mercenary business in full swing, wade goes after mafia, gangs, high level crime syndicates in an attempt to make the world a safer place for the love of his life. he returns home after trying (and failing) to take out a particular bunch of baddies to see vanessa on their anniversary. it’s here vanessa announces his gift is the removal of her iud - birth control device. together once more, they can begin a family.

it’s after a heart to heart about wade’s insecurities of ever being a good father (as a result of his own abusive father) that disaster strikes. seeking revenge, wade’s apartment is attacked and at the last second, a bullet meant for wade hits vanessa. fueled with rage, wade is the only survivor that night.

the next months pass in a blur of alcohol and attempts at his own life, though no death is ever permanent. each time his heart stops beating, he’s able to see vanessa once more, unable to reach her. ‘your heart’s not in the right place,’ she tells him. with the riddle confusing an already broken wade, wade latches onto colossus once colossus brings him back to the mansion to rehabilitate him. after a confrontation with the lawful good man of literal steel, wade adapts to a homely life inside the mansion - embracing doing good.

a confrontation with russell (firefist) changed that. reluctant to go out into the field, colossus brings wade on a mission to subdue an angry 14 year old setting fire to the orphanage he was held in - the essex home for mutant rehabilitation. using minimal violence, wade gets russell subdued enough to be handcuffed only to approach him. unlike everyone else seeing only an angry, violent, dangerous child, wade recognizes russell as a victim of abuse - burns from a cattle prod on his neck. unable to let a child abuser go free, wade withdraws his guns and immediately begins firing on the staff of the essex house.

colossus, filled with rage and unwilling to listen to wade’s explanation, has wade arrested, a collar inhibiting his mutant abilities snapped around his neck. with this collar, he’s unable to heal and his cancer is able to grow uninhibited. the next few days pass painfully in the prison with russell as his cellmate. a heart to heart reveals that russell is completely alone in the world, no one to protect him, and he’s become jaded. he understands now that no one is going to save him - a thought reaffirmed when wade pushes him away. russell confuses wade pushing russell away because he doesn’t want russell to watch him die as wade’s rejection.

this only continues as a break in occurs in the prison. a man from the future - cable - comes with only one plan in mind - the murder of russell collins. wade is able to - during his fight with cable - escape the prison, though russell hears wade stating he ‘doesn’t give a shit about the kid’ and turns away from wade. russell takes wade’s earlier advice and befriends the scariest, largest guy in the icebox - the juggernaut.

an attempt to rescue russell from a convoy moving him to a new facility is thwarted once more by cable, despite the team of heroes wade gathered for help (especially since all but one immediately died jumping out of a plane.) his attempt to save russell only pushes russell further into juggernaut’s arms and wade is left (literally) torn in half. domino, the sole survivor of the x force, takes him home to blind al to recover where cable decides to pay a visit.

rather than attacking wade once more, cable asks for help. he explains that he came to the present (his past) to kill russell because after russell kills the abusive headmaster, russell murders the entire orphanage and continues on to kill cable’s family. though wade sympathizes with cable, he’s unable to agree to the murder of a child and asks for a chance to set russell on the right path.

he tries once more to appeal to colossus, begging for help saving russell only for colossus to refuse him. angry, wade leaves the mansion and goes to save russell with only domino and cable at his side. giant fight scene proceeds, and colossus agrees to fight, assuring wade that he won’t give up on him and that wade shouldn’t give up on russell. more fight scene. a lot of death. many murder.

finally, wade and cable are able to confront russell, pleading not to kill the headmaster. every attempt to steer russell straight fails, russell burning wade and throwing him back, telling him that ‘i can’t trust you. i can’t trust anyone.’ convinced that russell is unable to change, cable goes to shoot russell. in a last ditch effort, wade snaps the mutant collar around his neck and states ‘if you’re going to kill someone today, it’s gonna have to be me.’ and immediately proceeds to jump in front of the bullet cable fired.

once russell realizes what wade has done, he experiences a change of heart - the effects of this change evident as cable’s daughter’s teddy bear goes from burnt and blood stained to clean once more. fatally injured, unable to heal, and refusing to let the collar be taken off, wade is surrounded by friends and allies as he dies, giving his farewells and cracking jokes to keep spirits high and because he was afraid in his last moments no one would care if he died. while he finally passes and is able to greet vanessa in heaven, cable is torn with guilt and uses the last charge of his time sliding device to go back to just before the battle, slipping the skee ball token he stole from wade under wade’s katana straps, saving his life.

going to leave the scene, dopinder is able to slide in and murder the headmaster, fulfilling his dream of becoming a killer in the last minute, and wade and his gang walk off into the sunset to pat benatar’s we belong.

the end credits see negasonic teenage warhead fixing the time slide device, which wade proceeds to use. first to save vanessa, to save peter (a harmless middle age man who joined the x force for fun), to murder deadpool in the wolverine movie, to murder ryan reynolds before he was able to film green lantern - you’re welcome, canada, and finally, to murder baby hitler.

should you prefer to ignore the end credits, post dp2 would follow wade balancing friendships with cable, russell, weasel, colossus, domino, dopinder, etc. he'll stay in contact with the x-men and may work alongside of them, though he isn't a formal member.

dear god it finally happened, but shawn and ryan did not make this easy on me.

as far as the events of the movie itself, here's your (not very summarized) summary.

following wade saving vanessa (as well as peter) by using cable's time slider, wade uses the time slider to briefly enter earth 616 in an attempt to become an avenger. he meets with happy hogan in stark tower for an interview in which wade emphasizes that he needs to become an avenger. he needs to become an avenger for vanessa and because he wants to matter. despite dismissing most things as a joke, he emphasizes that all he really wants to do is matter.

as touching as wade's plea is, happy informs wade that the avengers exist because people need them, not because they need to be avengers. instructing wade to 'find his own place' in the world, happy dismisses wade, and the entire rejection hits wade hard as he no longer knows what to do.

sometime after the rejection, wade returns to earth 10005 and returns to his apartment with vanessa. at some point, vanessa confronts wade about being distant, not being mentally present in their relationship. she tells him to show her that he cares about something bigger than himself. vanessa says that wade 'took a knee' after the rejection from the avengers, but was never really able to get back up. vanessa pleads with wade for him to let vanessa in to help, but wade only seems lost in his own mind.

wade, not wanting to let vanessa help him, pushes her away. he tells vanessa that he will leave her if she admits that she doesn't want him, doesn't want to be with him. while we don't see her exact response to this, it's implied that she says something to that effect or ends the relationship herself.

six years later, wade is employed at a car dealership, drive max, with peter. he has moved back into a one bedroom apartment with blind al in which they struggle to make rent. it's not the life wade had dreamed for himself, but it's his life now.

on his birthday, he walks into a surprise birthday party including peter, blind al, vanessa, piotr (colossus), ellie (negasonic teenage warhead), yukio, buck, and shatterstar (other alias unknown). wade enjoys being around his family, admitting to all of them that he's so glad to be in a room with every single person he loves together.

interrupting the party, wade answers a knock at the door only to find tva agents. wade attempts to move them away from the apartment, only to be captured and brought to paradox, the man in charge of overseeing earth 10005 - wade's world.

paradox offers wade a place in the sacred timeline, to which wade extremely eagerly agrees, happy to have a new suit, a place where he matters, and eventually, a heartbreaking moment where thor is holding him whilst crying. according to paradox, wade was chosen by unknown superiors for a 'higher purpose' because he's 'special' and has some important future purpose. declaring himself as marvel jesus, wade tells paradox to bring his friends into the universe as well to be 'upgraded to disciples.'

paradox then informs wade that he will be the only one leaving his timeline as the rest of his timeline is deteriorating following the death of logan, the anchor being - a being crucial to the timeline. the process of the timeline's deterioration may take thousands of years, but paradox is in the process of creating a time ripper - a device used to provide a swift and 'merciful' end to the timeline. in destroying earth 10005, paradox intends to prove himself efficient to the tva and rise in the ranks.

wade choses to punch paradox in the face and steal his tempad to search the multiverse for a logan to replace the anchor being in earth 10005. wade encounters many logans (one dead and desecrated for opening sequence purposes) who mostly attempt to kill him. finally, he finds a varient of logan that seems promising - a drunk, depressed logan that isn't welcome in even a dive bar. this logan refuses to fight wade, choosing instead to suck down a bottle of whiskey like it's his job before passing out. deeming it a success, wade grabs him.

to paradox's horror, wade returns with this logan, a logan paradox declares as 'the worst logan' who let down his entire timeline. paradox procedes to banish wade and logan to the void after wade threatens to reveal paradox's plan to the rest of the tva.

waking up in the void, wade and logan engaged in the first of many fights between them. upon threaten to behead wade, wade pleads with logan to work with him to save wade's timeline, promising logan that the tva will be able to repair the damage logan had done in his timeline.

they're interrupted by the arrival of a convoy - including but not limited to pyro and sabretooth (rip). they're taken, along with johnny storm (much to wade's eternal disappointment) to cassandra nova. johnny informs wade and logan that a resistance is hiding out in the border lands, but in the void, most people are either consumed by alioth or work for cassandra. the void is a 'metaphysical junkyard' where the tva often sends people who 'don't play nice with the multiverse.'

upon arrival at cassandra's lair (rip a variant of ant-man), wade and logan meet cassandra - charles xavier's twin who was sent to the void before she could even walk because she was deemed too dangerous by the tva. cassandra is very interested in logan, though he has no interest in joining her. cassandra murders johnny (for running his fat-ass mouth against cassandra) and displays her ability to skull fuck people's minds with her fingers, reading their minds and showing an ability to even manipulate memories (by taunting wade with the vision of vanessa telling him that 'he'll never fucking matter.'

while distracted, logan attacks cassandra, though he's unable to damage her. alioth arrives to feast, and cassandra is more than happy to offer wade and logan to alioth as 'rent.' logan and wade manage to escape through logan's quick thinking.

a safe distance away from cassandra, wade and logan encounter a dilapidated cafe to ransack for food (and rubbing alcohol). wade confesses to logan that he was unable to join the avengers and the x-men, and that he envied logan - a man who was a hero in wade's world. wade confessed to losing the love of his life, vanessa. logan chose not to return the favor of confessing his own tragic backstory, and eventually they leave in search of the resistance.

they encounter the ugliest, sweetest, most perfect dog that's ever existed - mary puppins aka dogpool - and her owner, 'nicepool.' we learn from nicepool and cassandra that deadpools are a dime a dozen in the void, and the deadpool corp is a group to fear. nicepool offers his honda odyssey to wade and logan for them to seek out the resistance, their only hope of attacking cassandra.

upon the drive, wade unfortunately and stupidly admits to logan that saving his timeline is an 'if' - an 'educated wish' on wade's part as opposed to a direct reality. wade admits to logan that he was desparate for logan's help to save his family. wade confesses that all he knows how to do is fuck people up for money. he doesn't know how to save the world - and why would he? he has a photograph of his 9 friends - telling logan that they make up his entire world.

indifferent to wade's pleas, logan begins to verbally rip wade to shreds, telling wade that he's a fucking joke, and it's no wonder the x-men or the avengers wouldn't take him. he's a ridiculous, immature, half-wit moron. logan had never met a sadder, more attention-starved, jabbering little prick in his entire (200+ year long) life. logan says that wade will never save the world because he couldn't even save a relationship with a goddamn stripper. logan goes on to say that he wishes he could say that wade would die alone, but it's one of god's best jokes that wade can't die, except the joke is on everyone else.

speechless, there's nothing left for them to say to one another. the time for verbally ripping one another to shreds ends and the time for physically ripping one another to shreds begins. many hours later, someone drives logan (unconscious) and wade (bondage tied in every seatbelt known to man) to the border lands.

here, wade and logan meet the resistance, a group consisting of elektra, blade, gambit, and laura (x-23).

wade pleads with the resistance to help him fight cassandra nova and save his timeline, something the rest of the resistance eventually agrees to. elektra claims not to care about saving wade's world, but they all deserve an ending - even if that ending is death. they were taken from their worlds without even being given the chance to fight for it, (with gambit not even sure if he had a world before he woke up in the void.) they agree to fight, though logan declares it a suicide mission and declines to join.

later that night, laura seeks out logan because the logan of her world was the reason she was still alive. logan pushes her away, telling her that he's the worst logan, and he was responsible for the death of all of the mutants of his world. he had gone out drinking one night and returned to find everyone massacred by anti-mutant assholes.

laura tells him that they need his help to win the fight, but logan dismisses her by saying that he's the wrong guy. laura replies that he was always the wrong guy.

we briefly cut to pyro, who is working alongside paradox. pyro wants to take down cassandra, and paradox needs pyro to stop wade and logan from returning to earth 10005 to ruin his plans with the time ripper.

the next day, the resistance (with logan in the trunk of the car) invade cassandra's lair to fight. the plan is to steal juggernaut's helmet to block cassandra's psychic powers. as laura and the others attack juggernaut and the others, wade and logan go straight to cassandra.

it's time for logan to get skull fucked by cassandra's fingers, and cassandra digs into his mind to discover the truth of his timeline. after the x-men were killed, logan entered a blind rage and began killing - ruthlessly taking out all who had killed the x-men, though he was unable to stop and continued to kill innocents. he's haunted by the screams of the people he's lost, and all he wants now is peace - the voices to finally be silenced. cassandra offers him this peace if he joins her in the void, but logan refuses, fighting back as wade slams juggernaut's helmet over her head.

as wade and logan try to ensure cassandra returns them home without killing them first, pyro rushes in to kill cassandra, shooting her multiple times before logan shuts him up mid-villanous speech. to save cassandra's life, logan convinces wade to let her live, embracing being an x-man, loyal to charles xavier who never would have allowed his twin to be killed. sparing cassandra, cassandra rewards them by using a mystical ring to return them to earth 10005.

as logan and wade confront paradox, cassandra invites herself to earth 10005 after learning the truth of paradox's betrayal from pyro. paradox becomes the next member of the cassandra skull fuck club. cassandra learns of the time ripper device and decides that she wants to use it. she had had a good relationship with the tva - they sent her 'trash' to clean up, and she was able to rule the void. but with paradox's interference, she's decided to destroy the entire multiverse until only the void remains, where she'll reign supreme. she drags paradox to the time ripper as she summons the deadpool corp to keep logan and wade distracted.

overjoyed by the return of dogpool, logan and wade proceed to have an all out war with the deadpool corps (including but not limited to lady deadpool, cowboypool, kidpool, babypool and Deadpool). unfortunately nicepool is killed, but his death was not in vain as wade became the new owner of some fucking sweet gold-plated, 50 caliber desert eagle pistoleros. they fought valiantly, though after the kick-ass fight scene, the reality of their regenerative powers kicked in. outumbered, logan and wade prepare to continue the fight until they're saved by the most valuable deadpools ever to exist - peterpool. peter is a god damn legend in every deadpool's world.

with peter being thoroughly enjoyed (physically and otherwise) by all the deadpools, logan and wade are free to confront paradox. paradox informs them of cassandra's plan, and tells them there's no hope. the only way to stop cassandra is to enter the chamber below the time ripper and create a circuit between the antimatter and matter feeds. in doing so, the machine would be destroyed, but whoever forms the bridge would be annihilated - atomized by the matter and antimatter.

wade and logan race to the chamber, though logan stops wade, reminding wade that death will be the reality of whoever sacrifices himself.

wade volunteers himself, claiming that it has to be him. he was the one to pull logan from his timeline into this without logan's permission.

logan argues that he should be the one to volunteer because he has nothing to go back to, whereas wade has a family to go back to, pulling out the photo he had kept of wade's friends.

they share a beautiful, poignant goodbye before wade introduces a fire extinguisher to logan's face and shoves the door closed between them. logan screams and fights to break down the door, telling wade that he was an idiot and that he didn't need to do this.

wade replies that he's doing it - not because he needs to, but because his family needs him to. wade grabs hold of the matter and tries to reach the other side, though he's running out of time. paradox, b-15, and the rest of the tva watch on in horror as time ticks out.

at the very last second, logan grabs hold of wade's arm and extends his claws into the antimatter feed. madonna's like a prayer (choir version) plays on as wade and logan strain themselves to the limits to bridge the gap.

logan thinks of wade saying that wolverine was a hero, thinks of laura saying that he was always the wrong guy until he wasn't. logan thinks of finally being proud to wear his suit, the suit that scott had begged him to wear and embrace.

wade thinks of finally being able to matter. wade thinks of connecting with vanessa in heaven, thinks of the birthday party he had enjoyed, thinks of how alone he would be in that apartment without them. wade thinks of vanessa, especially thinking that everything he had done (becoming deadpool, fighting cancer, sacrificing himself to stop cassandra) was all for vanessa. he just wants to save vanessa.

the time ripper is destroyed, destroying the subway station and cassandra in the process.

b-15 confronts paradox about the creation of the time ripper, though paradox is quick to claim he was the victim in all of this, having lost his friends, wade and logan, as a result of cassandra escaping the void. paradox mourns their loss, telling b-15 that nothing can bring them back.

he has risen, babygirl - wade announces with a beautifully shirtless and glistening logan. the power of both of them together holding hands to like a prayer was unstoppable. by joining together, they were able to destroy the time ripper and come out alive.

paradox is taken away, logan is forced to put his greasy man tits away, b-15 is overwhelmed by lust for peter, but most surprisingly of all, wade and logan's sacrifice managed to save earth 10005 from decaying as wade and logan became the new anchor beings.

wade pleads with b-15 to bring the resistance members of the void back to their own reality, to which she says she'll do what she can. asking for one more favor, wade pleads with her to fix logan's timeline.

this, she refuses. logan's past made him the person that sacrificed himself today, so there was nothing to fix.

with logan now tied to this universe, wade invites him for shwarma before bringing him back to meet blind al and the rest of wade's family, laura joining them as well.
