Bakugou was first on the scene. He had his pistol out and ready. Roars and snarls could be heard from the shadows of the surrounding buildings. The call had been about multiple vampires. Bakugou double checked the chamber of his gun. The bullet gleamed bright silver.
“POLICE! COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP!” He always hated using the term ‘police’ because he was actually part of a vampire containment squad.
“Guys! Please stop!!” he heard before a loud thud. One of the vampires, gaunt and skin taught though his build was wide and tall. His long red spikes shaded his expression, but it was clear he had just been hit.
“Oi! Hands up!!” Bakugou yelled. Somehow the vampire looked… innocent? His big red eyes were pleading but he attempted to hold his hands up anyways.
“I can help! Please!” The violent sounds continued. When Bakugou caught a glimpse of the beasts fighting he knew he was going to need backup. He radioed in before apprehensively addressing the thin vampire. The other two were moving so quickly Bakugou could get a shot on them if he tried.
“Fine. Fucking make them stop.” Kirishima smiled, his fangs seeming less aggressive than his comrades. He popped back up and mustered his strength before moving so quickly Bakugou couldn’t track him. He got one of them in a headlock while they were distracted. “Oi! Dabi! Chill out!! We’ll get more blood!” He yelled. The hulking vampire covered in scars and burns struggled in his grip. The other attacker started toward the two. “Twice! Don’t even fucking start. You were in the wrong. Go home!!” The other bi colored vampire stopped. His shoulders slumped before he disappeared into the night. “Are you chill man?” He asked the growling the man in his grip.
“Fuck off, Red.” Once Kirishima relaxed his grip, the bigger vampire knocked him into the brick, leaving a humanoid shaped indent and knocking the breath out of him. The vampire apparently called Dabi was gone in a flash.
“Told ya I could help,” he said weakly with a cough. He heard the blond say something but his head felt weird and heavy and the world seemed to do a flip until everything went black.
The peeping mimicked the pain in his head. He tried to speak but ended up coughing from the dryness in his throat. Bakugou stirred from the sound and got him a cup of water.
“Doc! He’s awake,” he yelled avoiding the vampires eyes. An older woman in a white coat adjust her glasses before reviewing his chart.
“How do you feel young man?”
“Tsk. Young,” Bakugou muttered and an eye roll.
“Hey! I’m actually 22!” Kirishima defended.
“Ahem,” the doctor interrupted.
“Oh, I feel a little dizzy and my head hurts a bit but otherwise I think I’m okay.”
“Hmm. I think if you keep drinking water and we give you a blood bag to go you should be fine.”
“So he’s ready for escort?
“Yes, let me finalize this paperwork.” Within ten minutes Bakugou was shoving the taller humanoid out of the hospital doors into his car’s back seat. It didn’t look like anything special from the outside, but the inside had special metal guards to protect the front seats from the back, silver lined.
“Hey, uh… where are we going?” Kirishima asked nervously from the back seat.
“Do you know what part? There’s-“
“Oh…” worry made his voice wobble. Bakugou ignored him. “Well thanks for helping me.”
“Couldn’t do anything else.” That’s right. These kinds of officers couldn’t shoot, capture, or ban a vampire without cause.
“Right…” Kirishima whispered while looking out the window anxiously fiddling with the hem of his shirt. “Y-you smell really good by the way.”
“Ha? Fuck off.” Bakugou retorted. Instead of pain, the blond saw joy cross the vampires face as he laughed. “The fuck is so funny.”
“You can’t really take a compliment huh?”
“Don’t make me kick you out right here and make you walk.”
“Hah. I’m pretty fast, ya know. Not sure you could keep up, even in your little toy,” he tapped on the car door. Everything in Bakugou wanted to test that theory. His car was built for both defense and speed with the highest quality parts on the market. “Maybe next time,” Kiri whispered.
They arrived at the border. It was a pathetic fence meant more as a symbol than deterrent. The humans and vampires had maintained an agreement for almost 100 years at this point. They leave each other alone, and those who don’t are punished by the victim’s laws.
“All right. Out.” Bakugou made no move to exit himself.
“Ah. Okay. See ya.” Bakugou watched the hunched figure trudge to the fence. He looked back once more, fear prevalent in his expression. But he steeled himself and hopped the fence.
Bakugou drove away thinking he’s never see that face again.
But when 2am rolled around there was a soft pounding on his door.
Bakugou rolled over hoping some drunk just bumped into his door or something. But then it happened again.
“GO THE FUCK AWAY!!” He screamed and pulled a pillow over his head. But it happened again, only two knocks, weakly… “Fucking hell…” he groaned and pulled himself up. On his doorstep was a bloodied, battered, red-headed vampire laying in his hallway, hand outstretched…
