Definitely didnât forget to post this until today nuh uhâŚ.
Made a small speedy piece for the Halloween art contest in the ever wonderful Starlight Station discord server (of which should 100% join if youâre 18+, genuinely such a great server!!) and figured Iâd post it here too!!! Went with Humber instead of Jumber just bc I kinda forgor Jamie is principle for Lumber now đ
Anyway Iâm sure someoneâs probably done something like this with the freight before LOL but the colour association got stuck in my head.. then had to shove Hydra somewhere in there so this is what came of it
People no longer appreciate the Arson Girlfriends or Quiedrogen dynamics for everyrhing they could be, and trust me both of them could be a lot, I have a minimum of 5 different takes on each of them
Gang hit me with some requests or prompts for them

No, uh, yeah, I think your art is incredibly cool. Like. So fkn cool. Anyway, uh, thanks for listening, and thanks for sharing your art with us!!
thank you so much!!! Ahggg sorry itâs taking me so long to get to these asks but I really appreciate every single one!! Reading this at work made my day!!!!!! I really just feel like a scribbler, so Iâm truly honored that you enjoy what I do :D
Im not too sure how my art would taste⌠probably not good. But Iâd hate to stop you from following your dreams.
(and itâs been a while since I drew them, so⌠:P)
Electraâs collage concept takes from this engine
But fun fact: there was an aesthetically similar Canadian line that WAS electric, the Tumbler Ridge Subdivision, used to haul heavy coal trains. Actually not weird at all historically, electric engines are fantastic for this and have been used for it since the turn of the century. They had a resurgence in the Americas around the 70s-early 80s, you just wonât know of them unless youâre a nerd or live nearby because most were in physically isolated areas
The insulators on the engines were SUPER tall because the line ran 50 kV AC, twice as high as most modern lines (25 kV). I havenât found the source for the 2000 on Electraâs chest but interestingly enough, this line was de-electrified in 2000 due to decline in coal traffic
(Slick fucks up her bands own performance to try and let greaseballâs band win, Hydra is doing everything they can to impress Rusty with their tech knowledge and absolute inability to play music, Porterâs secretly seeing the enemy, Rusty just wants to win. Lumber thought they were going to be a jazz band)

If youâre still taking the askbox requests, maybe some Hydra (or anyone honestly if youâre tired writing Hydra stuff) angst? Love reading that green guy go through it đ
Hi! I know you didn't ask for a sickfic, but the green thing is so peppy it's hard to really bully him any other way. Without further ado: baby Hydra bad times.
Requests always open!
==========================================
It was late.Â
That was the first thing he was aware of. The insistent protest of his internal clock that this was a time he should never see. Hydra would have been tired, anywayâ theyâd all gotten back from an expo in Stockholm the previous day, and the travel and time difference had really exhausted him. Heâd collapsed into bed as soon as heâd got there, not caring that he was tracking about five countriesâ worth of dirt with him.Â
He sat up slowly, feeling⌠odd. Too sensitive, somehow, the slight slosh of the liquid in his internal tank terrifyingly palpable. Something was wrong; the room was too hot; it hurt too much to move. Where wasâ Â
Leaning over, he clawed around on the floor next to the bunk. Found, to his immense relief, something soft and fuzzy. Held the oversized toy polar bear to his chest, breathing in the faded scent of the herb pillow that theyâd sewn into its head. That calmed him down a little, but did nothing for the strange, raw ache in his abdomen, or the uncomfortable itch that was starting to permeate his ventilation pipes.Â
âNatalie?â he said, mumbled frowned, choking back a cough. His voice was just a hoarse whisper. And besides that, heâd not had a night nanny around for monthsâ the intercom went somewhere else, now. Was under his control. He pressed the button on the wall to enable it. âUm, night staff?âÂ
There was a crackle as someone on the other end picked up.Â
âReading you,â they said.Â
âI, uhâŚâ Heâd not thought this through. âI donât feel good. Whatâ what am I sâposed to do?âÂ
Hydra was trying, truly very hard, to follow procedure. Or at least to remember what it was. But he missed Natalie terribly, and he was scared and tired and maybe going to throw up, and not even Ursus Maritimus could help with that. He squeezed the bear tighter, taking slow, shaky breaths.Â
âHang tight, Iâll be with you in a second,â the voice on the intercom soothed. He recognised it as Ruby, one of the junior engineers. âTry and have info ready for me, okay?âÂ
âOkay,â Hydra mumbled, but the intercom had already clicked off.Â
He didnât like being so reliant. He wasnât a child; at fourteen, most trains would have been apprenticed for years already. But cryogenics were different, volatile, as were prototypesâ and Hydra was both. He curled up on one side and waited, Ursus Maritimus held tight to his chest.
When the engineer arrived, she flicked the lights on. Hydra scrunched his eyes shut, whining in protest.Â
âWhatâs up, kid?â
âI donât feel good,â Hydra repeated, already distraught at the prospect. âEverything hurts, nâall my air pipes are itchy.âÂ
âYou donât sound good, either,â Ruby sighed. A small, cool hand touched his face, tensed a little at the contact. âOh, youâre warm. Iâm betting you brought something back with you from Sweden. No alarms, though?âÂ
âNope,â Hydra answered. No alarms meant it couldnât be that bad, right? He could probably just stay right there?Â
It hurt to talk. Â
âDo you want some tea?âÂ
She didnât mean tea like humans got, because he wasnât allowed that. Probably, instead, a medicated aqueous solution of something, warmed up enough to be soothing. At the thought of that, the nausea rose in his throat again.
He shook his head. Knew what his refusal would mean.Â
âYouâre not in trouble, okay?â Ruby began. âBut I need you to be honest with me. Could this start a tank purge?âÂ
Truly miserable, Hydra gave a little nod. He was comfortable in bed, cosy in his blankets and dust-resistant pajamas. And he really, really didnât want to move. But theyâd been careful, with his systems; designed around the sheer danger of false negatives. It was all part of saving the world.
âVent room,â Ruby said. âNow. You can bring your blanket, if you want.âÂ
He wasnât supposed to do that, but he took the small mercy. It wasnât a long tripâ just across the atriumâ but it felt like one, every part of his construction seeming somehow, dizzyingly, out of place as he moved. Settling into the blank sterility of the ventilated purge room just made it worse. Ruby helped him into the mask first, just in case, then hooked up the hoses to start his internal tank draining.Â
And then she left.Â
Hydra was alone.Â
Would be alone for a while. Either until the drain-and-purge was over, or until he was feeling better. Back when theyâd still had Natalie around, there would have at least been someone with arms big enough to wrap around him, who could safely hold his hand until the pumps started properly running.Â
Now, it was just him, and the humans. Ruby, watching through the dark little security camera on the opposite wall, completely out of reach for at least the next eight hours. The blanket around his shoulders was little comfort. Heâd brought his pillow, but he couldnât lie downâ he wasnât supposed to move with all the tubes attached.Â
Slowlyâ because maybe if he was careful enough she wouldnât noticeâ he buried his face in Ursus Maritimusâs fur, and began to cry.Â
