how is threatening your children with homelessness not a toxic ass form of abuse? black parents can be unapologetically abusive and think its justified and indisputable and a lot of older black adults out of “objectivity” what they think is maturity and respect, are complicit in upholding a lot of toxic ass abusive behavior because they extend and validate it.

growing up in a super Christian household and being the “black sheep” of the family put me through this a lot… like I didn’t do shit but stay home and mind my own business most days, if not most of my childhood. Yet I was always the one who was threatened to be kicked out just because I didn’t help around the house enough or whatever. Then when I actually decided to move out on my own accord and my mom had a fit. Like what did she expect???

Black parents will create a toxic environment for you to grow up in, constantly tell you that you should be grateful for said environment because they didn’t *have* to do shit for you, & then get hella offended when you decide to move out & ignore their messages like….???? bitch, YOU did this.
