There were many stories during the weekend about Jimi and the connection to his music. Many of the stories consisted of where people first saw him play or first purchased his album from the record store. Even how they were not allowed to listen to his music. What was most interesting became the expressions on the faces of the storyteller while gazing in wonder at the Hendrix turntable spinning. Many of their eyes shifted back and forth with a nostalgic grin and a dash of bewildering awe. Those visceral reactions are the most satisfying for me as an artist and for the viewer.
