Iâm always the black sheep. You know, the one whoâs there, but doesnât really matter. The one everyone glances at, then quickly looks away, as if the picture were too sharp, or the color too disturbing. Itâs as if I were transparent: they see I exist, but no one really wants to bump into me. Iâm left out of the laughter, the secret winks, from that world Iâm never invited into. And of course, everyone thinks I like it this way⊠but really, the silence just grows louder when they hear everyone elseâexcept me.
