What are the odds?
Abolish ICE is the moderate position.
Voting matters.

Omfg this is hilarious bc it’s so true! 💀
ICE agents are not traffic cops. They do not patrol neighborhoods enforcing moving violations. They do not have lights and sirens. They do not have blanket authority to issue commands to random citizens on a public street. There is no federal crime called "failure to comply with an ICE agent's verbal order."
Merry Christmas and happy holidays everybody (:

Mark Rothko, Untitled, 1968 Acrylic on paper mounted on Masonite 32 7/8 x 25 ¼ in. (83.5 x 64.1 cm) Smith College Museum of Art, Gift of The Mark Rothko Foundation, Inc., SC 1986:3-1. © Kate Rothko Prizel and Christopher Rothko

I’ve always liked this painting, when I posted it before I said that if you like the dark paintings, this was pretty cool, and I stand by this, but the scan was old, very red and black which was pleasing but not revealing. It migrated from The Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Smith College and now we have a more detailed (if a bit small) and more revealing scan showing more surface texture and more blue instead of black.
The most important thing about it? It’s no longer upside down! Apparently whoever did the last scan (or the person who put it up years ago) made a mistake and we have been looking at it the wrong way, which, honestly makes sense. I thought this was the same painting but the edges did not match and I was confused until my usual habit of flipping the painting worked and viola, we have new scan.
If an (formerly) upside down dark Rothko isn’t enough to scare you for Halloween, I’m not sure what is! Happy Halloween from (your pal) DR!
