Physical Description: Not quite tall, not quite broad, this healthy, sturdy man falls just shy of superlatives every time. Somehow, he manages to look both dapper and careless. His warm blond hair is well-kept and cut just above his shirt collar. The skin at the corners of his average hazel eyes seems to have so far escaped the early signs of age, and his face bears a mask of bright, manic energy. The hefty muttonchops he sports blend carefully into his mustache, the entire affair kept as well-groomed as a prized horse. His left forearm bears a thick scar - the bite of some large animal.

Often fast to move and given over to unnecessary flourishes in gesture, he speaks loudly and laughs louder still. He is rarely far from a covered wagon painted in green and gold and brown bearing the legend “The Blackwald Carnival” on both sides. 

History: Smaller towns and hamlets have probably seen at least one show by this magician and his traveling caravan. The Great Gemarich may be more familiar to those from small Gilnean towns, but in the last few years since the Wall came down, he's been traveling the Eastern Kingdoms proper.

Rumor has it that he was denied acceptance into the academic circles of the Kirin Tor before the Gilnean Wall went up. He gets quite rude if this is brought up to his face, however.

Occasionally accompanied by his lovely magician's assistant, Rika Shay. Upon closer inspection, Rika exhibits an uncanny, eerie sort of perfection.

A quieter rumor is that if he catches any of his carnies wearing purple, he flies into an irrational rage.
