REGIONAL WEATHER DISCUSSION
SUN JUN 7 2026 -- 12:30PM
The first of several waves of showers and storms has formed from near Dubuque Iowa up to Owatonna moving north ahead of a warm front. Temperatures will be around 90 across the region with most areas having dewpoints in the upper 60s to near 70
As noted above there will be several waves of showers and storms over the next 24 hours. However, this will not be the end of the storms. Monday looks to be another day like today with minimal clouds, highs near 90 and oppressive humidity.
Tuesday and Wednesday are the two days we are watching closely. Tuesday will bring more storms from the eastern Dakotas across Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Chances are best across western Minnesota before the storms congeal into one big mass of storms and roll across the region.
Wednesday, the chances of severe storms with the entire region pasted in a slight risk. There has been some talk from the SPC of an enhanced risk across our area. With detailed analysis, I expect an enhanced risk and could see a moderate risk if conditions continue to look this good or improve.
Thursday into the weekend, temperatures fall back with highs near 80 and lows in the mid-upper 50s with mostly clear skies and much lower humidity.
