I still don’t understand people who think it’s perfectly acceptable to outright torture “unpleasant” animals. I’m not saying you can’t smack mosquitoes, but pulling their wings off alive, going out of your way to make sure they die slowly, is creepy and horrible to do no matter what. They aren’t bloodsucking parasites specifically to spite you, they aren’t being cruel or mean. Any animal deserves at least a quick death if it has to die, and you can’t say “that’s just a bug” because I’ve definitely seen almost everybody come together with rage over cruelty towards butterflies or ladybugs..

People show the same attitude towards reptiles, rodents, anything they don’t like, as if an animal being dangerous or inconvenient is an actual act of “evil” on that animal’s part and they have to suffer some kind of karmic punishment for …….the way they evolved I guess?

I’ve even heard of people getting stung by a jellyfish and going out of their way to leave it in the sun to dry up and die. We don’t know what if anything jellyfish can “feel” but that doesn’t make an act like that any less twisted. That overall senseless, spiteful obsession with vengeance is just creepy as shit.

I am deeply uncomfortable with anyone who does this kind of vengeance cruelty under the banner of ‘it’s just a __’. Just the pure intent and anger shown through such cruel action will make me immediately, deeply not trust a person.

Kain froze as she pounced, a clawed finger twitching as he suppressed the urge to throw her off. Instead, the metal knight crouched down somewhat, allowing her to fiddle with his head spikes. A somewhat amused chuckle escaped him, seeing how enthusiastic this being was.

“Interested in my lightning, miss?” Kain tilts his head slightly, being careful not to poke her with his decorations. He idly wondered how intelligent the bride was, as she seemed unable to speak easily.

She was fascinated by this, gently touching where she had seen the electricity come from. She hadn’t seen anyone else with electricity like that, other than herself, increasing her curiosity. Who was he? How could he do that?

She nodded in reply to his question with a small grunt. Of course she would be. Who wouldn’t be curious about someone emitting electricity? Especially being one of the sort. “Uu… How… Can you… Do that..?”

Kain toyed with the thought of giving her the full explanation of his abilities. Deciding that confusing the poor bride would be of ill taste, he gave a simple answer. "Well, I made myself that way, simply enough." With a hand, he popped off a metal plate on his arm to show her the wires and machinery beneath.

Kain's visor started to observe the bride more closely. He saw how much of her was flesh and metal. Envied her truer signs of humanity and pitied how poorly put together her metal was. He also turned the scan off once he started getting measurements, he was no perverted bot! "Hrmm, I also made this fancy visor, which lets me see how you're put together miss...?"

Kain paused, realizing he had forgotten to introduce himself. "Ah, if you wish to know, I am known as Kain. A pleasure to meet you."

Does anyone else have that one friend whose sleep schedule is like an ever-evolving mystery? One day they’ll appear to be asleep for the entire 16 hours that you’re awake, but the next three they won’t appear to actually sleep at all. Sometimes they appear to be on Australian time, other times their schedule has adjusted to somewhere in the middle of the Pacific ocean. (I call this Cthulhu time.) You go a week without seeing them and you have no idea if they’re just really busy, dead, or if their sleep has simply synced up to the exact hours you’re awake and online. The only indication that they’re still in this mortal coil is vague posts about grocery shopping that pop up on their blogs at 4:12AM.
