“I bet I could get his number and a date in less than a minute.” And his friends are like, “haha, yeah right. He’s out of your league, Winchester. Novak’s don’t date. They just curve all the tests.” Then Dean goes, “I bet you $200 each. And I’ll even add in an extra bet that I’ll get HIM to kiss ME.”

So they take the bet and Dean just waltz over and sits down next to Cas and just smiles at him and says, “hey, sweetheart” then hands him his phone.

Seconds later Castiel just leans forward and kisses Dean on the lips and goes, “are you scamming your friends out of money with bets again? You know eventually they’ll figure out we’ve been dating for a little while.”

Then Dean just grins like, “And that’s when I’ll stop.”

Dear Jensen,

I am a destiel shipper. I’m going to keep being a destiel shipper. I hear you say it doesn’t exist, but it exists in my head, in my stories, and between my tumblr friends. I hear you say that’s not how you play it, and that’s a shame because I think it’s a beautiful story that I would love to see expanded. I’ma ship it anyway.

There are a few things I want to say to you before I move on with my trash blog and my fandom. Ok, really just one thing in a few different ways. Thank you. I see you out there at the cons being peppered with questions, taking tons of pictures, smiling, sharing. We see you. We see you sharing your singing with us, even when you were nervous. We see you sharing your family with an eager hoard of admirers. We see you put yourself out there in so many ways for us. Far more than many actors would give their fandoms. We say thank you.

I can’t imagine how exhausting it must be to be on display, in a spotlight for so much of your time. A couple people share a post I make on facebook and I get uncomfortable. The pressure of the crowd, thousands of hugs from strangers, people trying to touch you, people wanting to know about your babies, your young daughter… I would fold up like amateur origami and never leave my bedroom. I honestly don’t know how you do it.

Not only do you smile for all the photos, and shake all the hands, you take that platform and use it to elevate us. You advocate for self-esteem, for taking care of ourselves, for mental health. You see us too, and instead of being overwhelmed or judgemental you do what you can to offer us hope.

One of the downsides of having millions of fans is that if even 2% of your fans decide to be overtly upset at you that’s still thousands of angry tweets, posts, and comments. I hope you know that there are still literal millions of us who admire you. You have done so much to offer your fans support, optimism, and kindness, the least we can do is offer you respect. You absolutely deserve that.

So yeah, I wish you shipped my ship. I wish you had screamed from the stage that destiel was canon. I’m disappointed to hear that isn’t how this story is going. When it comes down to it though, I don’t care. I’m going to ship it anyway, and I’m going to keep on thinking that you are a gift to this fandom, and an inspiration to many.
