I was rewatching Skypiea with a friend who I have managed to capture into the One Piece pit. Then we get to the moment where Enel zaps Robin, and Zoro catches her and goes "she's a woman/ Just a woman" and once again, I was so confused about this odd inconsistency in Zoro's character. It's always felt so out of character for me, but I think I figured it out? It's all about the context. Zoro wasn't saying "how dare you not go easy on her / hurt her because she's a woman". he was mad because Enel was talking shit about Robin.

Before Enel Zaps Robin, he says: "I hate Conniving women" He is essentially calling Robin a sneaky manipulative traitor. Zoro is objecting to that. He's rejecting the Conniving part. "she's a woman/ she's just a woman", AS IN: "she's not conniving, she's not a betrayer or a backstabber." This was the moment Robin was added to Zoro's "people I would die for" list. His Nakama List. He had been so suspicious and wary of her until this point, but at that moment, when Enel accused her of being a sneaky/conniving woman, Zoro was defending her honor as an individual, not focusing on the fact that Enel dared to harm a "woman". He was attacking his Nakama AND calling her a manipulator.

MODERN AU: If Sanji could get rid of that damn itch that only men could scratch by himself, he would. When Nami sets him up with friend of hers that's both up for no-strings-attached hookups and doesn't mind Sanji's demands keeping it anonymous, the problem solved itself. Now all he needs to do is keep it casual. That can't be hard. He never met a guy he'd been attracted to on an emotional level, so why would he start now?
