and maybe that's why you keep coming back. because she's the only person you talk to that hasn't gone through the horrific events you and the others have. because what you bicker about is just... school, or homework, or each other's dumb little habits. because every time you get mad about something stupid it's almost refreshing. because she reminds you that there's a lot more in this town than the monsters.

and, to her pleasant surprise, he is. steve says he's going to apologize to jonathan first, and robin's like alright just take me home afterwards youre on your own with nancy ("how come?" "she probably won't want to see another girl in your car with you while you apologize, dingus") and steve agrees. so he drives to jonathan's and robin's sitting in the car with a book while he goes inside, and then she hears yelling and is like fuckkk i should probably go and get him out of there. so she opens the door and sees nancy wheeler pointing a gun at steve with jonathan flailing in the background. and then the lights start flickering.

The pivotal character in the story is DJ, a tall, thin, rakish, white gent with effortless charisma and a devilish twinkle in his dark brown eyes. He has designer stubble and short dark hair, slicked back but with a few tendrils hanging over his forehead. His handsome, slender face has high cheekbones and his hooked nose gives him a hawkish intensity. Simultaneously described as 'Byronic' and as 'Satan in a suit from Saville Row' DJ cuts a swathe through the streets of Soho in a smartly cut, grey plaid, three-piece suit. He wears this with the flamboyant addition of pink socks, a thin, bright red tie, polished ox-blood brogues and a touch of eyeliner. DJ is often in motion leaping onto a bench with elegant energy or dancing back and forth to his own internal music. Ever up for a snog, a smoke or a lark it makes the moments when he becomes still and thoughtful all the more poignant.
