ive seen a couple of diner aus where robin is a waitress and steve is the fry cook but hear me out: switch their places. steve as the charismatic waiter who playfully flirts with any interested customer (at this point it's mainly for the tips) and robin as the cook in the back that customers see flashes of periodically through the service window but is mostly preoccupied with flipping pancakes and scrambling eggs for 90% of her shift.

(nancy starts coming in and sometimes she catches robin's eye through the window as she's sitting at the counter and robin can't do much more than give her a wink while she prepares someone's hashbrowns and you know what nancy can stay a couple more minutes. she wont be that late to work.)
