saw a post that frustrated me from a stranger things fan (shocking) where they used bly manor as an example of bury your gays and were like “can’t believe the duffers failed so miserably that even stories like these are better done representation than stranger things.” like, maybe i’m not woke enough, but i think just because a gay story is tragic does not mean it should be expected to be inherently inferior to stories that end well. if you prefer that, absolutely that’s fair. but, i think disparaging all tragic queer stories without looking at whether the ending was actually done well is actually bad for media. just my take.
