Its still insane to me that since season 4, before the cancer or her infertility, scully has been pretty much planning for mulder to be the father of her future children (that bench conversation in home) and then in season 8 when we get the flashbacks of her at the doctors and her having asked mulder to be the sperm donor..and him saying yes..like thats so insane in the best way i love them so much

Currently watching season 8 of txf and just saw an edit of mulder and i got emotional because he’s been gone for like 8 episodes. Its like seeing footage of my dead wife laughing at the beach at the start of a movie, like wow look at him..he was so..there…
rewatching memento mori for like the billionth time and yes the hallway scene is like msr holy grail but can we talk about scullys letter to mulder? Especially the intro voice over, like its so incredibly romantic and vulnerable;

i always wonder what mulders life would have looked like if scully had either a) never been returned in season 2 or b) died from the cancer. Like are there any fics exploring this? (If so please recommend)
because in my mind if scully had died or had never been returned, i think mulder would have buried himself deeper in his search for the truth and that would have probably sent him to an early grave because that man has no sense of self preservation.
If scully had died from the cancer i think he would have given up too because the way he broke down at her bedside in redux II? The way he could barely hold himself together when seeing her in the ICU? Yeah no way that man can just go on without her
they should have had an x-files episode where scully and mulder are invited to a wedding by one of their fbi peers and we see them in a nice suit and dress but they get sidetracked by an x files happening at the wedding but also they get to slow dance together and have a whole lot of msr gold moments. just saying.

Mulder and scullys love transcends the conventional categories of platonic or romantic or familial. Their relationship and their love is based on belief, faith, passion and most importantly trust. They’re at their strongest when they trust each other completely and i think that that is such a beautiful presentation of their bond. And i might go insane over it.

It‘s kind of insane how a lot of my favorite episodes were written by vince gilligan. Even the ones he wrote that aren’t my favorites are still stand outs. Vince gilligan is truly the GOAT. Like he got mad fucking motion its insane actually.
in my mind, mulder saw scully laugh in the rain in the pilot episode and was so enamored by her laugh and her smile that he decided he‘d do anything just to see her smile even the tiniest bit

just watched season 7 episode 22 and ooohhh dont piss me off chris carter…
i read that they werent sure they’d get another season back then and with that in mind, this season was ASS. Like in the grand scheme of things (and what Ive read about s8 and s9) its a fine season, maybe too many comedic episodes but otherwise its fine and it has some great msr, catholic guilt (lot of religious episodes for some reason) and great episodes written by gillian and david and one of my favorite comedic episodes (x-cops) and FINALLY a fucking kiss
but if i look at it from the perspective of oh they thought they were getting cancelled its like…DUDDEE LOCK THE FUCK INNN WHAT ARE YOU DOINGGGGGG. Like i stg i just sat there at like the last three episodes before the finale thinking about how much time they’re wasting dilly dallying around like no lock tf in the season is almost over and all you’ve done is beat each others asses because of some set of twins, get a genie, and go to hollywood…fuck off. Like seriously
