“hows your ankle?” it’s been barely a week since the night on the mountain, emily feeling an unexpected but overwhelming desire to check on her friends at every possible opportunity. she had been horrible to them in the past, and yes she still was a little horrible sometimes, but being so close to death with them made her realize that she needs to actually let them know she likes them. she can’t stand the thought of her friends dying thinking she doesn’t really like them. “and.. well everything else? you doing okay?”

❛     sorry   michael,     i’m   just   struggling   to   feel   any   sympathy   about   your   fingers   when   they're   clearly   fine   enough   to   hold   a   gun   to   my   head.     ❜       words   spat   with   a   tone   typical   of   most   things   emily   says   when   shes   annoyed,     though   this   time   the   annoyance   is   quite   justified   considering   he   almost   killed   her.     despite   what   she   said   she’s   moving   forward   and   taking   his   hand,     albeit   roughly,     and   trying   to   analyze   it.     she   can’t   help   the   revulsion   that’s   evident   on   her   face   the   moment   she   touches   it,     the   blood   still   wet   on   the   bandage.     there’s   a   reluctance   as   she   looks   at   it   for   only   a   second   before   pulling   away.         ❛     that’s   fucking   disgusting.     ❜         

she sees a girl on her own, struggling against one of the dead, and she almost walks away. almost just leaves. but from a distance the girl almost looks like hannah, or maybe its beth. either way, she looks vaguely enough like them for emily to stop in her tracks. as she gets closer the resemblance is less than she’d previously thought, but begrudgingly she’s still going to help. knife is unsheathed and in one quick swoop she throws it, the blade miraculously driving itself into the skull of the creature. even emily looks shocked, ‘cause she really didn’t expect that. “oh.” spoken in shock as she heads over and pulls out the knife. “i really didn’t think that’d work, kinda expected to really fuck you up there. i mean that was almost your head.” she laughs a little, gently but not maliciously. “go me, though, right? that’s talent. not gonna try it again though, ‘cause if i never try again then i’ll always have a 100% success rate.”

“what happened to your hand?” words attempt to fill the silence, discomfort and fear filling the room. chris is out there with someone they don't know, putting his life on the line to try to save someone that had apparently betrayed them all just hours earlier. it's safe to say tensions are high. "is it- like- did you bandage it properly? don't want you bleeding out of your hand all night.”
