I thought it was only fitting I do a pride piece for my Sasi college/human au, as this will be the first year I’m actually participating in my local pride parade! I love these losers so much, it was so fun to do this.

hello this is my oc Sebastian! He’s a character from an oooold dnd campaign that I’ve done a lot of building on since then- I did some figure studies using him and was pretty proud of them so I thought I’d post them here

yes yes! They were the “og 2” if you can call them that- they met and hit it off (in their own way) in freshman year of high school. They picked up Roman the next year and the three of them have been like this 🤞ever since. Uhhhh shuffles around in my bag

I can understand that the background can have somewhat of an effect on the complexion skintone, but in almost three of the four images you provided, Logan is in a different colour background and still shows to have a yellow tint on his skin tone. It is best advised to shift the colors you use on him to a more tanner or paler tint as to not fall back on a making him appear yellow.

Further more, you mentioned that Logan is Korean American in your au and that struck me because intent is key. Alot of aus tend to portray Logan as East Asians to perpetuate the stereotype of East Asians being very smart when the layers behind that stereotype is extremely harmful to not only East Asians, but other Asian nations such as South or South East Asia. This is not to say that you cannot have Logan to be East Asians but to sincerely mindful of the way you headcanon a race onto a side without the unconscious biasness taking over in your decisions. It's as for the same reasons how people headcanon Janus to be middle eastern/SWANA because hes a liar and a snake (harmful SWANA stereotypes) or Remus being dark skin because hes loud and boisterous (harmful black stereotype).

Please be mindful next time. These things matter alot to us poc and the last thing we want is for our identities to be portrayed in such a hurtful way in what we consider a safe space.

Thank you for educating me! I am not poc myself, so I’m super grateful to have the advice and knowledge from someone who is. I never intended for my personal biases to reflect on my headcanons, but I can see now that they did!

When headcanoning for the sides, I went with a combination of popular choice in the fandom (Hispanic/Mexican twins) and picking based on color pallets I already had for them (I had been drawing Janus with fair skin and blonde hair, leading me to pick a Scandinavian country) which wasn’t the best choice on my part. In deciding my designs for the au, I didn’t really take race/ethnicity into account, and went mostly based on gut feeling as to what their skin tone/hair color was, and arbitrarily assigned them an identity based on that.

hi thank you for sending this in! i do have Logan as Korean American in my au and I do tend to draw him with yellow-ish undertones, but my intention was never to caricature-ize the ethnicity!

with how I often draw, my colors will shift depending on the color of my background, as I shift my basic color palettes to match the tone, so depending on the art you saw, his skin tone could’ve ended up looking yellower than I intended.

With that in mind, I definitely will keep an eye on it in the future when I’m using background colors such as that green and grey as to not let him lean too far into that yellow-y tone.
