So we can all agree that the fight between Cole Kai and Jay was written weird and wonky right? Like I’m pretty that was only escalated because of the staff but even then it still felt extremely out of place. Also fuck the random dig towards the finders. I’m so annoyed that everyone keeps on hating Cole for having a family that’s outside of the ninja like 🫩 bro they’re his fucking kids! Cole has been shown to want to be fatherly in the past so him adopting kids fits perfectly in line with his character.

I don’t care the Ninjago Women will always mean so much to me. Does Ninjago always get feminism right? No but despite that this show meant so much to me when i was a little girl shamed for being myself and it means so much to me now as an adult. Nya meant so much to me then and she means so much to me now along with all the other female characters. The show fumbles a lot but i think compared to a lot of other shows made for boys in mind they did pretty okay.

I feel like a lot of people have had bad experiences with an unrequited crush and project their own feelings onto Will. Will does not think that Mike is evil. Will would never need to “escape” or take a break from Mike. Will would never resent Mike or hurt him out of spite. There IS no spite. They’re best friends.

There was no big fight between them. Mike has never hurt Will on purpose and Will knows that. I’m sorry that someone hurt you, but you are NOT Will. Your toxic crush was NOT Mike. That’s some weird, made up agenda that you’re pushing.

Will adores him. He’s not some incel that insults his crush the second his feelings aren’t returned because he feels entitled to Mike’s love. He respects Mike as a friend first and foremost. He would NEVER let his own feelings get in the way of their friendship. He thinks that his feelings are his own fault. He wouldn’t punish Mike for that.

Reskimmed BatS bc I needed to do panel gathering for an ask and I'm still struck by the fact that they could have easily had duke say "my mentor, my dad" or smthn to that effect when Batman came in for that final save. But they chose "my mentor, my friend"

Because for a comic so defined by relationships, the ones he has with his family, with Izzy vs Riko, the uneasy start to his partnership with det. aisi; they could've easily shoehorned a 'chosen' father-son relationship btwn bruce & duke to contrast against the Gnomon reveal. If anything that would be exactly the expectation, that kind of story beat is a trope for a reason.

But Duke's chosen father is Doug. And that does make a difference. His relationship with Bruce is not lesser for being a mentor & protege rather than father & son, it's just different. And god if the greater majority of this fandom was really as obsessed with the Found Family trope as they claim to be, they'd acknowledge that this difference doesn't matter on whether you "count" duke as part of the batfam. Recreating the nuclear family is NOT the end goal of a Found Family trope, and it never should be.
