or at least some of them do

perseverance and patience falling together. perseverance trying to protect their annoying little sibling because they love them. trying their best to strategize against enemies. patience dying in the ruins because they dont really understand that the enemies would actually kill them. perseverance going on because they have to. they have to persevere. they have to go on and go home. for their sibling. theyre smart! they can get through this! eventually, though, they cant anymore. theyre not as smart or as strong as they thought. they werent strong enough to protect patience. they werent strong enough to get home. they’re sorry. theyre so sorry.

ok but like theyre transneu right.

i see a lot of people upset that she suddenly seemed so focused on noelle and her romance with her in this chapter. which i do get! they think that it seems rushed and out of character. but 3 things.

1: Susie is a Teenager who just started dating someone. teens will be distracted by that stuff. my friend talked about her gf all the time when they started dating. its normal.

2. Susie used to think she was incapable of being loved. she was rejected by the people around her so many times, just for being different and “scary,” that she started putting up the front of a scary monster to protect herself. and even if she has kris and ralsei now, those feelings wouldn’t completely go away. but then, theres Noelle. this sweet kind girl who seems opposite from susie in every way. but she likes susie despite that! not despite that, actually, but BECAUSE they’re so different from each other! of course susie would latch onto that. why wouldnt she?

3. the prophecy. when susie saw the prophecy in chapter 4, she was very obviously excited about it (until the ending, obviously). She’s the girl with hope crossed on her heart! she found purpose and belonging from the prophecy, becoming a hero alongside ralsei and kris. now, obviously she’s all about defying the prophecy. or at least whatever horrible thing happens at the end. but that doesnt mean she’s going to completely reject it. in the prophecy, she is A Hero. in the prophecy, she has friends. in the prophecy, love finds its way to her. of course she wants that still. i think she’ll realize she already had love from kris and ralsei (and toriel) eventually but right now. i get it.

like kris may feel responsible for it? maybe? but they were like definitely a very small child when dess disappeared. how would they have been responsible in any way. am i stupid
