He saw her approach after the body kick she delivered. He promptly took a side step before pushing towards her as well, trying to start a grapple. He was gonna try to counter all her takedown arttempts.

After her first takedown attempt was shunted she quickly moved around him avoiding his attempt and made a grab for his legs to pull him down. Using her petite stature to her advantage to take down the taller opponent. “Stronger than you appear.” She huffed as she pushed him towards the ground.

“Well you have decent knowledge of grappling, which is cute” he chuckled as he proceeded into a half guard, grabbing onto her ankles to try to bring her to her knees for some ground work. 

She rolled her eyes at his remark. Before trying to wriggle under his half guard to get better position. “Don’t take this the wrong way pretty boy.” She smirked as she reduced the distance between their faces and pressed her lips onto his to try and get his guard down.

“I wouldn’t say I want to get my ass kicked but I would not mind sparring with you” he said approaching the ring. He was taking off his cloak, setting it on the side as he entered the ring. “Get to see something up close now”

She raised her eyebrows at his answer. “So pretty boy fights for himself? Then what the hell do you need me for?” She laughed stretching her arms behind her back. “I can hold back if you want so you don’t get embarrassed in front of your men.” She whispered.

“If i were to fight ever fight myself, there wouldn’t be much of the underworld left” he chuckled cracking his hands. “I need you because I feel it is nice to give people work to do” he said circling the arena with her. “I won’t because it won’t happen” he smirked.

She stopped stretching and stared at him blankly. “Then let’s set the rules pretty boy. No magic, no shadow casting, no turning into a shadow, no transformations, and no illusions or mind tricks.” She studied his movements and adjusting her body so that she could defend his attack.

He snickered a bit at her stipulations to their sparring. “Sounds fair enough, guess you want us to be on even ground?”. He stretched his arms a bit before cracking his knuckles “I’ll try not to hurt you too badly” he grinned. He was quite a capable mix martial artist without his powers.

She circled around the ring with him. “Awww it’s cute that you’re concerned, but I’m a tough girl. Besides who said anything about you winning.” The assassin inched closer to Zhang and locked eyes with him. “Bring it pretty boy.”

Zhang inched closer to the assassin as well, keeping it at barely arm length at first. He tested the range a bit, doing quick jabs just to see flinching and how she would react. He wanted to play it slow, to see how she handled things.

She watched his jabs without a flinch and countered with a leg kick to his body. She waited a few seconds before moving for him trying to take him down to the ground.

She turned her body locking eyes with Wally. "I’m sorry for making my problem your problem." She them finally settled her emerald eyes on Dick. "I-I did care for you I promise, but it was my job to distract you and I got too attached. I just wanted to let you know my feelings were not all an act." She forced a small smile.

She tilted her head to the side. “Did Batman already send my files?” She asked studying BB from head to toe.

“Yes he did. I’m Beast Boy.” He said smiling at Sephora.

She smiled back at him. “It’s nice to meet you Beast Boy.” She inched closer to get into the building.

He stood aside to let her inside. He was a little suspicious of her though.

She squeezed past him and closing her eyes as the cool air hit her face. “You don’t trust me, why?” She asked as she pivoted to face him.

“I have trust issues with those I don’t know.” He said.

She gently set her hand on his chest over his heart. “Like it or not we’re teammates now, so sooner or later you’re learn to trust me.”

“I’m sure I will.” He said wondering why she had touched him there.

When she withdrew her hand she smiled softly. “Your heart beat is a good tell of what you are thinking and feeling.“

“Ah I see.” He said smiling at her. He let her in.

“Is it just you here right now?” She asked biting her lip.

“No. The others are here.”

She pursed her lips slightly. “What do you do for fun around here?”

“We go swimming, play video games, play sports the usual stuff.”

She sighed. "I’m sure there are other things you could do."

She closed her eyes temporarily. "How is Damian adapting? I was stripped of my title as assassin after I failed to bring him back. Now I’m simply their property, and I can’t resist or say no, but I did and now I’m being hunted." She bit her lip opening her eyes and hugging her arms around herself.

Seph smiled softly shaking her head. “Not at all its painless, it’s more annoying than anything else.” She looked toward the entrance of the cafe. “How curious I would think your dad would show by now. Especially if he dislikes demons as much as you say.”

“He does dislike them,” he confirmed. “But he doesn’t go looking for a fight. He’s smarter than that. … Or he’d rather let a demon go than deal with the paperwork that would come of taking time out of his day to fight a demon…”

She stuck her tongue out. “You all do paper work when you meet with us?” She shook her head. “Still, I’d very much like to meet your dad. I mean I don’t think I’m that bad as a demon. I mean I don’t eat souls like contract demons.”

He chuckled. “We do paperwork when ‘meeting’ with demons takes time away from doing our jobs. We don’t have to fill out a form or anything if we just happen to see you guys or something.” He smiled sheepishly. “I should probably give him a couple days’ warning. Just going up to him is definitely going to provoke him, even if you have good intentions.”

She nodded looking at her phone. “Intriguing, there is a last minute assassination request. Do tell me is a Miranda Earl scheduled to expire today?” She looked at him with determination in her eyes. “I’d place my money on no and I can’t stand it when they pick for random kills as bets to see who can kill the person first.”

Michael blinked before calling his list to hand. “Miranda Earl… I don’t have her on my list, but if Dad’s in the area, she might be on his. But I don’t know for certain. Um.. who’s ‘they’, and… you said they just pick a random person to see who can kill them first? … Just because?” he asked hesitantly.

She nodded her head. “This is why I want out of the league of assassins. They kill for no reason sometimes. They do it just to prove whose stronger. If you help me figure out if she is on your fathers reaping list I can keep the assassins distracted enough so that we can save her life.”

Michael nodded. Wondering how he had never been warned of something like this before. Still, he needed to catch up with his father. “Try not to get too close to Dad, he’ll immediately get defensive.”
