“Don’t be. Entering your unconscious mind was almost too easy...” she voiced her observations, more curious than concerned. “Looking for an escape, are we?”

“Indeed. But it was mortal greed to blame. I only did what was asked of me.”

“Like... clay?”

“I am the progenitor of an ancient and powerful species -- That was my crime,” she explained casually.  “As for the Parkers, well, they are quite clever with their prisons, aren’t they?” The demon gave Brady a knowing look. “I assume you’re familiar with their design?”

“Hell. Hell.”

“I recognize capable hands when I see them,” she began curtly. “Whereas others have failed, I know you have what it takes to free me from this unjust prison.”

“Which one?”

“I have no idea what you’re trying to say to me.”

“By now you’ve noticed this isn’t a normal dream. I am Dantalian, and I’ve been sealed under this city by people who thought they were doing humanity a favor. I’m a demon, Brady, a fallen angel of Hell. And I’ve been asleep for far too long.”

“I need your help. I need you to awaken me.”

“I’m glad you agree. I have a few to share with you.”

“Language is a curious thing, isn’t it?”

“I inflict the conflict with the utmost of intention.”
