6/18/19: The last few pictures of my Junior year of college.
It was honestly a really hard year. Being a transfer student has ups and downs to it for sure, and for my first year out of my hometown, it was a huge independent learning experience, not just in the classroom either.
I’m proud of the work that I put in, and imagined that I would spend this summer doing some more studies, but I think I’ll be needing a break for a while to reflect on some things and work.

6/6/19: Studying for my last o chem lab exam. Next week is the ACS and my cell molec final, and I’m burning the candle like it’s a wax tart, no ends left.
6/2/19: O chem exam tomorrow, so I benchwarmed in the library for a bit doing some electrophilic aromatic substitution mechanisms.
6/1/19: Waiting for BF to get off of his night shift and rewriting some o chem III notes. Aromaticity is wack, and I’m losing motivation so fast.
5/26/19: Did some work on a cell and molecular biology project and worked on some o chem hw at this aesthetic coffee shop! Kind of like studying in an IKEA, not sure if I digged it or not.

I have been an unstoppable machine this week! Getting all sorts of assignments, scholarships, meetings, etc business done so that I can spend some quality time with my mom this weekend since she is coming up for Easter :)
This may seem trivial to some, but I have made a goal this quarter to try my best on assignments and submit them, not worrying about how I am going to do or without bullying myself for doing not as well as I would like. This is something I have always struggled with, and so I am hoping to turn over a new leaf this quarter.
Last weekend, I was in Vancouver CA with a great friend of mine, and so I have some pictures to post of that!!
4/16/19: Ugh was up til 1AM last night getting stuff done, but at least I have some messy cell molec notes and a finished scholarship app to show for it.
I’m tackling today with more tenacity and a BIG coffee.

okay guys but do you know who led the team that made it possible for us to see the picture of the black hole?
so her name is dr Katie Bouman, a 29-year-old who has created the algorhitm during grad school at MIT
the first picture shows dr Bouman when the data was being reconstructed, the second one is her with STACKS of hard drives of black hole data
(by the way, doesnt it remind you of this photo of Margaret Hamilton with her code that let us fly to the moon?)
anyway, i want for you guys to remember dr Katie Bouman because what she did is INCREDIBLE and its a huge step for us all so i REALLY hope youre gonna remember her and share this bc she DESERVES IT

i had heard good things about shakespeare and company but i didn’t know it was THIS amazing. we spent way more time than planned there on our trip last week. psa: they have a housecat called aggie as well! bonus.
