Walking in God's Power as a Believer "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen."Β 2 Corinthians 13:14 (NKJV)One thing we should always be mindful of as believers is that, although we have access to God's power through the Holy Spirit, we must never allow our pursuit of His power to replace our pursuit of Him.God is faithful to His Word. He watches over it to perform it (Jeremiah 1:12), and when we stand in faith upon His promises, we can trust Him to accomplish all that He has spoken.Yet our deepest desire should never be merely to witness God's power at work. Rather, may our hearts long above all else to know Him more intimately, to delight in His presence, and to love Him for who He is. His miracles strengthen our faith, but His presence is the greatest gift of allJesus Himself warned us of the danger of operating in spiritual gifts while neglecting relationship with God:βNot everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'βΒ Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV)He is a loving Father who desires to know us and to be known by us through an intimate relationship. Yes, we have access to His power through Christ Jesus, and He will always move according to His Word. But let us never neglect the vital importance of daily communion in our relationship with Him.It is in that quiet place of fellowship that we learn His heart, allowing us to operate in His power according to His perfect will and by His divine unction.Prayer:Father, help us to never forget that everything we do starts and ends in You. Keep us from losing our awe and wonder of who You are. Teach us to continually and willingly seek You. We know that it is from this place of closeness that Your Holy Spirit empowers us to do good works. In Jesus' name,
