“true, you guys are so gross but also so cute at the same time. what are you guys doing for valentines day?” she asked, before scrunching up her nose. “actually don’t tell me, i don’t need to fall into a dramatic despair over your coupleyness.” kate couldn’t help but laugh “teddy ‘the adorable tank’ altman here to save the day”

“we did a lot, and had a ton of fun after.” he said, not going much into detail because he knew kate didn’t want to know too many details. “he’s amazing. i know.” billy put his hands into a fold. “anyways...” he started busting out laughing again at what she said. “we can’t be serious. ever.”

After breaking up the fourth mugging of the night, as much as he wanted to keep going, Teddy knew he had to call it a night and head home. In all the chaos, it wasn’t even just the masked man’s thugs the superheroes had to deal with- the city’s less favourable aspects had decided to come out and play.

“Jeez, is there anyone left in this city who isn’t a bad guy?”

Billy had been doing his best to help with whatever he could, and his abilities being heightened made everything simpler. His spells were affected to the point of him no longer needing to speak out loud and most of it came at the simple thought. Each mugger, each brute, each criminal could be apprehended with the extension of his hand and the thought of them all being knocked out with their bodies bounded by a rope.

Something was off about all of this, and the downside to his abilities was the clairvoyant aspect of it. Billy’s normal skills allowed him to track someone and know exactly where they are, but his heightened senses made it more and he’d been able to feel the people around him emotionally and physically. He’d never felt it before but it only made his head feel a way he couldn’t describe that wasn’t pain.

Billy locked eyes with one of the brutes he caught, and managed to see the troubled past of the thug. Every bad memory flashed into Billy’s eyes along with the future of the thug that involved many nights of plastic trays, cold cells, scary men, and an overall awful life of a prisoner. The future seeing didn’t stop, and as a fail safe, Billy thought of the one person who could make him happy in the entire world - Teddy.

Without meaning to, Billy found his environment changed and he was still decked out in his Wiccan apparel with Teddy talking to someone else but Billy appearing behind him. “H-holy crap I didn’t mean to do that.” He stated, looking at Teddy with a confused and shocked look. “I really didn’t mean to do that.” Teddy was aware of Billy’s struggle with his heightened abilities - something he himself could do but never on himself. It was weird having control but not having a grasps on what exactly his limits were.

“that’s because teddy is a tank and could eat enough to feed a village ten times.” she said with a laugh. kate popped another chip into her mouth lazily. “so when can we have another drunk sleep over?” she asked. “we should all cuddle up together and watch movies. but i’ll be in the middle so you guys can’t get all touchy. i don’t need to be woken up in the middle of the night by a reminder that i’m forever single.”

“literally whenever.” billy stated, being as serious as ever. “dunno if teddy will drink but it would be pretty funny. and we both know that if teddy and i want to really be touchy it would happen.” he raised his index finger, furthering his point. “also. teddy is an adorable tank who is also a gentle giant.”

piotr halted upon the other’s request, turning around to meet billy’s curious eyes. “of course. a herring under a fur coat is the best salad one can get.” he insisted, aware the food coloration is strange. “with vodka’s help, everything is edible.”

“you know i believe you 100 percent, but i agreed to not drink on weekdays to teddy.” billy agreed completely with the man but he had to stick to his agreement. “alright. i’m just going to order some fries, a triple decker burger, and a diet cherry coke because i have to be a little healthy even though it’s not true.” he had this habit of saying whatever was on his mind.

“I mean, it’s not gross….” he said, looking down at the mix of grilled veggies and meats in his bowl. “When you have my kinda caloric intake, you eat pretty much anything that’s food. But I like ot think of this as like a kebab without the stick. You wanna try? I even got lamb, lamb’s still like a thing.”

“my boyfriend is just like that!” billy said with an excited and open-mouthed response. “whenever we go out to eat i try to guess what face the waitress we get is going to make.” the woman behind billy started tapping her foot and he turned around. “my grandmother used to tap dance, that was terrible.” he turned back around. “i will try that.” he said, taking it from him and enjoying the piece he had. “yep..i’ll have 4 of those.”

The Cuckoo brothers, unofficially known as the Stepford Cuckoos, and officially known as the Five-In-One, were nearly always together. The five moved and spoke as a single unit, often creeping other people out wherever there was an interaction with these five blonde-haired, blue-eyed identical brothers. Upon hearing [and sensing] Billy behind them, they all looked up and simultaneously half-grinned.

Sean: “Yes.. very. It’s a…”

Peter: “..very good treat.”

All: “We very much enjoy it.”

Ian: “But we understand…”

Christian: “… that it’s not for…”

Erik: “…everyone. But oreo’s and peanut butter?”

Sean: “It’s an amazing combination.”

All: “Trust us.”

…See? Creepy. 

kate popped the chocolate frosting covered potato chip into her mouth. “it’s the best, sweet and salty in one bite.” she said, licking the excess frosting off her finger. “if i had vanilla ice cream too it would be even better.” she held up another dipped chip towards him, “wanna try?”

billy didn’t know that it would be good at all, mostly because he always got the same things when going to restaurants. “that..hmmmmm..” he bit his lip before going after her. “i’ll have whatever she had on top of an order of pretzel bites..” billy handed her the right amount of cash and waited. “i swear..being with teddy has made my stomach take a lot of food than i normally was used to..i’m always hungry.”

“Babe? Do you know where the nice purple shirt I like ended up after the party?” He called out, half in the closet as he looked through the array of clothing. Given they could both muster up clothes from no where it was almost surprising how much they actually had. “I didn’t see it in the laundry, but I definitely put it in the basket.”

Billy had no idea what he did with it, and if he had it. “I can totally use magic to help with this.” The last time he saw it he was sure that it had been mixed in with the laundry. “ohh...wait...” billy thought back to after the party when he got really drunk and ended up using some purple to wash off and he thought it was a towel. “i totally know where it is. you did put it in there after but....i..you’re going to be really pissed at me...are you sure you want me to say it? it’s still in the house if you want good news.”

Eyes snapping up as she heard someone speak to her, her gaze was met with the sight of a brunet man, who seemed to have appeared from nowhere. She was met with more surprise though when she felt soft feathers envelop her petite form. Wings. She shook her head in disbelief, her breathing picking up 

“I-I don’t know what’s happened. Where am I? Am I dreaming?” she trembled, her wing feathers fluffed up from the stress.

kate wiggled her eyebrows as the shots appeared in front of them. “like always, my lips are sealed.” she said, stealing two off the plate and knocking them back. “you’re right. I look great, i always look great but i look super great.” she said nodding as she convinced herself. “when you’re pregnant or on your period.” she told him, “and i’m neither so, i’m probably just being dramatic. which is definitely a new thing for me.”

“oh i know.” billy said as he began taking a couple of shots himself. the boy never learned how to properly drink due to his strict parents and it only recently became a common thing he’d been doing. “you’re beautiful, okay?” he said, not being drunk enough to mention his twin brother. “wow. i think i acted sick the day we learned that in health. also...did you see that loki is here? he’s dramatic.”

Sage would listen to the guy about not hiding from his boyfriend maybe he need a break from him . “Dude what are you talking about i was only asking if you are having a good time at the ball so far so just relax.” 

Billy nodded along at her words, and rather than explain himself he presented the plate in front of them both. “shots?” He nodded his head at how great of a time he was having and just wanted to keep drinking. “Take these with me and I will conjure up any food you want. there are 6. you take three and i take three.”

“oh nothing, nothing.” he raised the glass to his lips. loki didn’t have much of a reason to be at the ball apart from the alcohol and a gut feeling that something would happen with so many super powered beings concentrated in one building. “but you did see each other again—no harm no foul! i am killing it with these midgardian sayings tonight.” 

“you’re something else...” billy chuckled, not knowing if he should hex or hug loki. there were days he felt he could trust him and then days where he knew it was the wrong decision. “i’m going to assume you’re a good guy tonight and not a total aaron burr. okay loki?” billy conjured up an apple in his hand. “so, how have you been?”

“ too much - three bottlesuh- “ tommy gagged mid sentence, his hand going up to his mouth - his body froze for a few moments before he dropped his hand and relaxed for a moment. “ three bottles of tequila - bad bad decision. “ he mumbled out before furrowing his brow. “ and you say you love me - liar. “

billy’s eyes widened. “holy shit, man.” that was a lot, even for the speedsters standards. the man rolled his eyes, trying to be sympathetic so his willpower to take away the other’s pain was heightened. “give me five reasons why i should help. they have to be serious..you know how my healing powers work..”

Teddy didn’t always say no powers, and it felt a little ironic that the one night he really wanted to walk from their apartment was the night they were going to celebrate mutants, but he didn’t care about that. It wasn’t so cold, or so far, that they couldn’t make it to the mansion. And holding Bily’s hand as they made their way through the city was… nice. “I still know, yes,” he said, grinning a little. “I love you too, babe.” He said softly, squeezing his hand. Billy said it a lot, and Teddy felt it- but he probably wouldn’t say it as much without the prompting he got from his boyfriend. “… yes, that looks like Loki.” Teddy growled, glaring a little. He’d never get over the discomfort he felt around him, not really- not properly. Not after everything that happened. “It’s going to be interesting, for sure.”

He smiled. “Just say the word and I can teleport him out of here.” Billy had this habit of never knowing if he was being serious with his thoughts or words so he said them and left them up to interpretation. Loki was a person that he never knew if he could trusts but had to on many occasions. “Looks like we’ll have to ease our nerves.” Billy held out his palm and managed teleport a plate of two glasses that he ‘borrowed’ from people at the bar. “Drink up.” He smiled. “You look stunning, by the way.” He said, admiring Teddy’s suit and just how amazing he looked in it. “You know, it may be something you wear when we get married.” Billy had on a light purple suit with a blue button up that he saw on google and put on himself. He started drinking. “Also, there’s a 80 percent chance I’m going to want to leave this place on your back, babe.”

Billy wanted to teleport to the event but Teddy insisted on walking, which he happliy followed as it wasn’t a hard request. The travel there Billy held Teddy’s hand the entire way because he loved having him around and just doing things like hand holding. The party was one that he knew his mom would be at and he knew Teddy was a huge fan of her and he hadn’t seen her in quite some time so it was perfect. “You know I love you right?” There were random moments where he said it randomly, just so Teddy knew in case he’d forgotten or needed a reminder. When the arrived he loved how the place looked. “This is awes-holy shit is that Loki?” He said, his hand tightening slightly. “You’ve got to be shitting me that’s hilarious.” He saw the alcohol and immediately felt a happier feeling. “This is going to be a shit show I love it.” He looked at Teddy, laughing at how this event was going to turn out.

 “and who’s fault is that? you could’ve made me a couple years older,” loki muttered under his breath before chuckling. “why? you can’t still be caught up on the whole magic manipulation thing! how does the saying go? it’s water under the bridge!”

“what did you say?” the noise was loud at the party and he thought he heard all of what loki said but knew it was either rude or rude. “Water under the bridge applies to more non life threatening situations. just be careful around teddy because i don’t know how he feels either. you did almost prevent us from never seeing one another again.”
