Aaand here’s my funsy twinsy needle-feltsy contribution for @diptember! I was originally gonna make just Dipper, but I’ve always wanted to make the full twin set, so I seized the opportunity. :D Waddles and the Journal also got a cameo, so I’d call this a pretty wholesome installation. There’s so much going on in every angle, so it was pretty challenging to get good pics that would capture it all, though!

Also, the beady eyes were a new experiment to me. Honestly, they were sort of my only option here, because the figures are so small I simply couldn’t make normal eyes work. (Believe me, I tried - I reconstructed Dipper’s entire face four times before I gave up and simplified things a bit). The tip of my thumb I intentionally left visible in the last pic should work for scale.

I was originally planning to watercolor this, but then I realized I’d sketched this on the wrong type of paper, so digital it is! I used both Photoshop and FireAlpaca for coloring, so I scored some dearly needed practice on the side, too.

So waaaay back in June 2018, I wanted to try my hand at making light-duty illustrations for my own fics and asked my readers for preferred scenes to draw. @ibeautifulbeard requested the notorious assault scene in Blood Chains, but Foo had other ideas - ambitious ideas. Hehehe.

Six procrastinationy months and over 20 scrapped sketches later, a six-panel lyric comic including the requested scene is born! I had this song firmly stuck in my head at the time I was writing the scene depicted in the last panel, and I needed to do something with it. I wanted to portray the main inner processes of both characters they go through during Arcs I & II. Yeah, maybe it makes the chronology a bit disorderly here, but eh. c:

Who would’ve thought… that I was the one in need of liberation?

Wohoooo! So the blog just hit the milestone of a whopping 600 followers - thank you so much, all y’all magnificent bastards, you’re the unstoppable force that keeps Foo a-kickin’ ᕙ(  ・∀・)ᕗ

As a token of my gratitude (and also a wicked scheme to maybe catch the eye of a handful of potential new followers yeah not denying anything here), I’ll be giving away one of my older needle felted figures that I still have loitering around for some reason: Pyronica!
