No one is going to accomplish your goals for you.
- study like a life depends on it -
Starting
Hello everyone! Let me start with a quick introduction. My name is Juri (obviously not my real name), and Iโm a final-year law student! yes, a final-year girl! I have my semester exams in January, along with another important exam around the same time.
Life, however, hasnโt been very kind lately. On 15th December, I lost my grandfather, and my grandmother is currently hospitalised. Everything feels overwhelming, and Iโve honestly lost most of my motivation to study for the January exams. Right now, Iโm unsure about what the future holds, and that uncertainty is scary.
Iโve always wanted to start a study blog because it helps with accountability and reminds you how far youโve come, especially during tough times. I thought Iโd start after my January exams, but then I realized it's better late than never. So here I am, starting today. The progress is a bit slow because my house is full of guests right now. Iโm just studying whenever I manage to get some quiet time.
This is my very first study blog post. Iโll be sharing my daily to-do lists, the hours I study, and even my small struggles along the way. Letโs see where this journey takes me.
Study reminder for my achievers:
I want to sleep instead of studying. So here's a reminder for you and for me: Sacrifice is never vain. It's only a burden when you forget what you are studying for. Whatever you're working for, it is worth it. It is worth the long nights, the efforts, and overall the sacrifice. People who succeed are people who sacrifice without letting doubt get to them. But people who succeed also know how to take care of themselves. Study and sleep. Study and eat. Study and enjoy studying. Study and take breaks.
Work for it, work for you.

It doesnโt matter how slow you go, as long as you keep moving.
"i should study"
doesn't.
2025 : #28 goal setting 101: the version that actually worked for me .
If you're someone who never really knew how to set goals , if you always forget about them, lose motivation fast, or give up halfway throughโฆ then this blog might actually be for you. Because Iโve achieved about 90% of my 2025 goals so faaaar so I figured itโs time to share the real recipe for goal setting the kind that actually works.
1 . you need to think about your goals by yourself.
You need to think about your goals by yourself. If youโre out here searching โhow to set goalsโ on TikTok or watching YouTube videos where some random girly is like, โHere are goals you should set: exercise, skincare, journaling, go outside more.. to have the best year of ur life" stop right there.
Because if you keep doing that chasing the MOST aesthetic MOST overrated goals that everyone else is setting youโre not going to achieve them. Especially when the only reason youโre doing it is because someone online looked good doing it. Youโll find yourself like, โOMG yes Iโll start exercising because this girl in the video is so fit, so maybe if I do what she does, Iโll get there too.โ But you wonโt stick with it because itโs not your goal. A lot of people think they can just copy someone elseโs dream and magically get the same results. But every time you fall off or miss a day, youโll start spiraling: โIโm not like her.โ โIโm failing.โ โMaybe Iโm just not good enough.โ and that mindset It destroys everythin
So please if you want to actually grow, set your goals based on you. What do you need? What are you lacking? What do you want to become?Stop letting TikTok trends or Pinterest girlies tell you who to be. Like yes if you really have zero ideas, itโs okay to look around for inspiration. But donโt just copy-paste a list of goals from some stranger on the internet and expect it to work for your life.
And Iโm not even gonna start on the toxic โbe like wonyoungโ culture. You donโt need to follow a 27-step skincare routine, eat ONE APPLE, and have perfect posture 24/7 to feel like youโre improving. U wonโt become Wonyoung or any other celebrity and youโre not supposed to.
So set your own goals based on your own needs. not on what some influencer told you to do. not on what seems โproductiveโ just because itโs trending.
Ask yourself:
๏น โฟ ๏น What do I actually want?
๏น โฟ ๏นWhat do I need more of in my life?
๏น โฟ ๏นWhat would help me feel proud?
2. Set ur goals in the MOST smart way
So when it comes to setting goals I discovered this method that honestly blew my mind I don't know if someone else did this before me, but I'm gonna claim it because it worked so incredibly well for me. So back in November 2024 I was struggling hard with sticking to my goals. I had all these ideas floating around wanting to exercise more, eat healthier, read books, study better, spend time reflecting , go out w friends more ... but it was just this chaotic mess in my head that never led ANYWHERE.
That's when I came up with what I call the "Arc Method." Instead of having random goals scattered everywhere i organized everything into seven clear categories: Arc of Studying, Arc of Reading, Arc of Solitude, Arc of Education, Arc of Aesthetic, Arc of Health, and Arc of Joy. It's like putting all your goals into organized containers instead of having them scattered all over the place (u can create other arcs if u want !) , and why this method absolutely destroys the traditional goal-setting approaches is cuz our brain stops getting overwhelmed because instead of juggling twenty random objectives, we will be managing seven clear categories. Each arc contains related micro-goals, so your mind can process them as organized systems rather than a mess . Plus you naturally maintain balance across all areas of your life instead of obsessing over one thing and neglecting everything else.
The real game-changer is that this forces you to dig deep into what YOU actually want. Not what some social media gal tells you to want, but your authentic desires. You're organizing your genuine aspirations in a way that makes them achievable.
You literally sit down and write detailed "I want" statements for each arc, and I mean really get into it. Like for exemple Arc of Health: "I want to start eating healthier, especially with my meals. I want to start cooking by myself instead of relying on unhealthy food because I know I've been treating my stomach badly, but this time I will make my own meal program and actually stick to it. I want to feel energized after eating instead of sluggish. I want to build a relationship with food that makes me feel good about myself." For Arc of Education: "I want to master this specific subject that's been challenging me. I want to study smarter not just longer hours that drain me. I want to understand concepts so deeply that I can explain them to others. I want to feel confident in my knowledge instead of constantly doubting myself."
You HAVE to write these down yourself in full paragraphs like this. Don't just think about them or write short bullet points. Actually pour your thoughts out on paper with all the details, emotions, and reasons behind each want. I know it sounds HARD but ur brain is maybe full u just need to grab a paper and a pen this is literally the secret sauce. When you physically write these extended "I want" statements, they stick in your mind in a completely different way than just thinking about goals. Your brain processes written words differently, and there's something about seeing your honest desires spelled out in your own words that makes them feel incredibly real and achievable. It's like you're having a conversation with yourself about what you truly want, and that conversation becomes the foundation for actually making it happen
Then you add one major goal at the top your ultimate objective that everything else supports. This creates a clear hierarchy where every smaller goal either helps your major goal or at least doesn't conflict with it. No more working against yourself with competing priorities !!
my 2025 program if u want to know how it look like .
3. have some healing goals
Before you even think about how to achieve your goals I want u to know that a lot of people focus on physical or academic goals get the clear skin, get the grades, start working out, eat healthy and those are great... But especially in your Arc of Joy hear me out u donโt need to ignore your emotional glow-up. Because when life hits you, and youโre tired, drained, or burned out, those emotional goals are the ones that actually save you.
Let me give you an example : One of my joy arc goals was to go out whenever I felt overwhelmed literally just grab my bag and walk, maybe get coffee, sit in a park, journal somewhere outside. It might sound normal but it helped me so much during spring semester, when I was too โGROUNDED.โ I barely left my eyes out of my books and I was burning out. But then I remembered that simple goal I had written in my note app : โ I want to go outside when I'm feeling overwhelmed...โ So I did and it helped me breathe again.
So keep your goals somewhere easy to reach your phoneโs Note app , your Notion page, anywhere. Re-read them often. And include emotional goals as I said because staying grounded forever Itโs not realistic youโre a human. Ur emotions matter too taking care of yourself is not a distraction from your goals itโs part of achieving them !
4. How to achieve ur goals
Achieving ur goals requires confronting an uncomfortable truth that most people refuse to acknowledge SUCCESS demands RELENTLESS, sustained effort that will test every fiber of your willpower. The reality is that your brain is biologically wired to seek comfort and avoid discomfort, which means every day you'll face internal resistance trying to pull you away from the hard work your goals demand. Your dopamine system craves instant gratification from social media scrolls and easy pleasures, while your prefrontal cortex, responsible for long-term planning and self-control, must constantly battle these impulses. Most people fail not because they lack talent or opportunity, but because they underestimate the psychological warfare required to override their brain's default settings.
The difference between achievers and dreamers lies in their relationship with discomfort. When you commit to ur major goal you're essentially declaring war on your comfort zone, and this war must be fought daily not just when you feel motivated or inspired. Motivation is a fleeting emotion it's definition "When you feel motivated, you can get stuff done. When you don't feel motivated, you can't get stuff done."so DISCIPLINE is a skill that must be developed through repetition even when every cell in your body screams for rest or distraction. THE truth is that if you're not consistently uncomfortable, you're not growing. Your goals should scare u enough to make you question your capabilities, because comfortable goals don't require transformation they merely require existing. you must continuously increase the difficulty and consistency of your efforts to create lasting change.
For a long time I thought people were just being harsh when they said you have to โgrindโ for your goals. Especially on social media everyone made it sound EXTREME. But after six months of locking in, working, and seeing results with my own hands I finally understood they were right. If you WANT ur major goal to be a REALITY you have to work for it. Thatโs the only way. u canโt just daydream about it, scroll through other peopleโs lives, and complain about how hard it is. If you keep slipping, if you're not ready to grind, then maybe you're not ready to achieve it. That sounds brutal ikr but it's the truth I learned the hard way.
So don't pick a goal you're not prepared to fight for. Because achieving it isnโt about writing it down on New Year or manifesting it once during a full moon. Itโs about doing the work eeevery day. That means sacrificing distractions, showing up when you're tired, and not mistaking one focused workday for a ten-day burnout excuse. Yes, burnout will happen and when it does, take the rest you need. But donโt start using that rest to escape your responsibilities. Rest with the purpose of coming back stronger, not slipping into avoidance. NEVER QUIT AT UR BREAKING POINT
If you fall 100 times this year fine get up for the 101. Donโt sit there crying over the time you wasted or the progress you didnโt make. Forgive yourself stand up and swear to yourself that youโre going to get it done. You donโt need to feel ready u just need to stop waiting for the perfect moment and grind anyway.
Because you know whatโs harder than grinding it's REGRET. Waking up one day and realizing you were capable of so much more, but you let comfort, fear, or other peopleโs opinions steal your future thatโs real pain nooo youtube video will hand u ur wins . Donโt let your younger self down. Donโt let the version of you who dreamed big when no one believed in her fade. I believe in you ๐๐ช

( You can use this as an inspiration to create your own academic program. As I mentioned, the goal-setting method works for every part of your life. Feel free to change it, add new arcs, or adjust it to fit your needs. good luck in ur studies ! )
So, I didnโt do a full academic program last year because I was already setting up the 2025 program, which had a the academic arc and my major goal to focus was academics and yas we did it with hard work, I reached #1 in my humanities class three times in a row and even succeeded in the regional exam . now since Iโm a senior, I really need to set up a dedicated academic program cuz yup this is the last year, and itโs time to give that extra PUSH. So, I need something separate from the 2026 program. thereโs a ton of work to get done, including the baccalaureate exam .
Since 11th grade counts for 25% (which we already finished) and the first semester of senior year is 15%, that means 75% of our final grade comes from the baccalaurรฉat n ikr our system is kinda crazy the baccalaureate is super super super super suuuuper hard competitive and stressful so I'm half cooked w stress .

for history
I really want to make it interesting instead of the boring subject itโs always been. I want to focus on essays, doing lots of them and really master the key topics and themes for the bac. I also want to build a strong memory for dates, events, and historical connections so I can confidently handle any question that comes my way.
for geography
I want to practice maps, graphs, and calculations regularly because the math side really challenges my literature-focused brain. I want to understand both physical and human geography in depth and complete exercises consistently every weekend so I can feel prepared and confident when tackling problems in the exams .
for english
even that i'm great in english but I still have "des lacunes" . I want to improve my vocabulary every day and read and analyze texts weekly to strengthen my comprehension skills. I also want to practice pronunciation surprisingly tumblr helped me so much cuz yeah I voice record my blogs that's why they are long (โ Tโ ^ Tโ ) , and I want to balance this with TOEFL prep and also TOLC-E prep while still focusing on baccalaureate english.

for my baccalaureate exam i have arabic, english, history, geography, and philosophy. Iโm going to share several arcs that will guide me toward achieving my academic goals .

critical thinking development
I want to refine my ability to analyze and argue with depth. As an INTJ, structuring ideas and judging ppl is not a problem for me ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ, but I worry about being asked something directly and freezing up. My goal is to train myself to respond confidently without anxiety.
mind sharpening
To push myself further, Iโll listen to podcasts about law, politics, and debates . This will keep my thinking sharp and help me approach essay questions with broader perspectives. I worked very hard on philosophy last year, which gave me a strong base. Now I want to shift my focus from writing to oral expression, since philosophy is highly connected to debates and real-time reasoning.
For my study methods, Iโll continue relying on active recall and spaced repetition, since theyโve always worked for me. But because thereโs so much to cover and not enough time, I also want to research new techniques that can speed things up a little.
When it comes to notes, Iโll admit Iโm kind of a messy-notes girlie and the real issue is that I lose them way too fast. So, Iโm going to try adjusting my note-taking style depending on each subject.
One thing Iโll definitely keep doing is rewriting my notes. People can say what they want, but for me, rewriting works, especially when I need to memorize things by heart (like definitions, biographies of writers, etc.).

So after senior year, Iโm planning to apply to Italian universities woohooo! My โdreamโ uni is the University of Turin, which is one of the top universities in Italy. Of course Yale Law School will forever be my ultimate dream but yeah it's kinda impossible.
For the university of turin, Iโll have to take the TOELC exam. Since Iโm applying for a law major, I wonโt need math, just English but itโs still pretty competitive. Iโll start preparing soon I want to search for tests and do a lot of practice the fact I have 3 English exams stress me up but I will figure it out like I do always.
In October, Iโll also begin the CILS prep program for Italian. I probably wonโt continue it for too long because Iโll need to focus on the baccalaureate, but Iโll at least stop at the B1 level. Italian isnโt that hard (itโs actually pretty similar to French), and even though the program Iโm applying for is in English, Iโll still need a language certificate. And who knowsโฆ maybe Iโll also apply to other places (๐ฏ๏ธ Milan ๐ฏ๏ธ Milan ๐ฏ๏ธ ).
I really need to ace my first semester since it counts for 15% . Honestly I just hope my French teacher this year is good last yearโs teacher was exhausting. She was anti-feminist, constantly putting women down, even though sheโs a woman herself. She would say things like โmen can do whatever they want,โ and it made me hate the class atmosphere . This year, Iโm hoping for someone better. (at the end of the day I always need to cb home and RE EXPLAIN everything I hope teacher will do their work and explain well )
My goal for the first semester is to stay above 10/20 in everything, because once a grade falls below that, itโs really hard to make up for it. By the second semester, I want to push myself to stay at 14 and above, since Iโll be more engaged by then. I donโt want to burn myself out like I did last year, even if it paid off in the end.
I also want to track my grades closely and always find ways to improve. Call me a nerd if you want, but itโs senior year Iโm basically living between heaven and hell right now .
Iโm not too focused on this arc , but coming back to my old high school makes me happy because Iโll get to see all my old classmates . Unfortunately, one of my favorite classmates is moving to another city, which is a bummer.
My real best friend isnโt at the same school, so weโre mostly online friends, and Iโve really missed her. I want to hang out with her at least once a week since my parents are giving me a bit more freedom. I also want to make great memories this year with her and some of my close classmates .
My circle is small, and Iโm not really concerned with making a lot of new friends I talk to everyone, and anyone is welcome, but Iโm careful about who I let close maybe college life will probably offer better opportunities to expand my circle ypee :3 . So I don't want to repeat the same mistakes as last year I already wrote about two girls I want to stay away from in my โfriends you need to avoidโ blog cuz toxic, problematic liars drain my energy tbh , and I just donโt have energy to see them in the class .
I wish I could buy all the books I want, but libraries are far from where I live, so Iโll focus on reading online. Iโm not talking about fiction I mean real knowledge about the world. I want to know every country: where it is, its political system, its president or king, and other key facts since I'm applying to "GLOBAL LAW AND TRANSNATIONAL LEGAL STUDIES" I need a really strong general knowledge .
As I mentioned before, Iโll also listen to podcasts about law and politics to sharpen my thinking. On top of that, I need to study Italian culture since it will be important for my next year .
๏ฝกโ *๏พ๐ช ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฎ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐ฒ๐
since challenges were always my dad idea and they work tbh since I built discipline :
100-day productivity challenge : this is a must, and Iโll start it as soon as school begins.
50 history essays challenge : write 50 essays to strengthen my understanding of key historical events and themes and also geography even it's rare when they give geography essays .
global knowledge challenge : gain general knowledge about every country in the world, including geography, political systems, and leaders...
50 / 50 poetry analysis challenge : analyze 50 / 50 poems an text to improve literary interpretation and critical thinking.
50 philosophy essays challenge : write 50 essays to deepen my philosophical understanding and reasoning skills.
daily vocabulary challenge : memorize 10 new words every day to expand my language skills and expression for english .
