Put my blue collar shirt on the past few weeks, trying to remember where I came from. I love photography like nothing else in life. But some of my finest days where on a tractor in a field. I’m thinking my hands are gonna get a bit dirtier this year.

The first thing I looked for in the archives when I started my internship at NPR was whether Tim Curry had ever been interviewed on one of their shows. I was a weird child who had a huge crush on Tim Curry, and thought I knew all about him by age 10. In fact, he was my first crush (yes, I know how strange this is - I blushed as I wrote that sentence) and my mother would indulge my odd infatuation by leaving his picture lying around for me to find as a fun surprise. I knew all of his lines from titles like Annie, Muppet Treasure Island, Home Alone 2, Clue, and The Three Musketeers, but I had no idea what I was missing until middle school. That was the moment when my best friend and I sat down to watch Rocky Horror Picture Show. Since then, I have seen the movie over 20 times, attended two live performances and a handful of midnight showings. I even begged my parents to travel to where Rocky Horror was filmed (see embarrassing photo below). Lo and behold Tim Curry was interviewed by Fresh Air’s Terry Gross in 2005. Hearing him talk about being Dr. Frank-N-Furter made my entire year.
