Hi there, not to be weird, but I personally think you should post more of your Gideon thoughts if you have any more. I really think the Gravity Falls proship community has been really missing out on him, and I'm actually disappointed! When I first joined and started liking him, I honestly expected him to be an absolute staple of the proship side of the fandom. He has so much potential it's crazy..

i kinda get it i guess? i think im just too tired to care about the nitty gritty of disclaimers or explanations as to why, when i could just spend my energy sinking my teeth into this.
gideon is, letâs be real, a bit of a freak. and iâm not even talking about the stuff with mabel. because man oh man does the series already do enough of that.
what iâm talking about and obsessed with is the fact that gideon is so cleary obsessed with at least one adult, sometimes OVER mabel, and doesnât let it go until he gets his little posse of prisoners to latch onto.
gideon is lowkey pretty obsessed with stan, from the second episode he rolls around into the plot to be a fucking menace. i mean it makes sense going for the head of the house to take the shack awayâŚ
but it becomes obvious that gideon has a thing for bothering stan no matter what in âthe deep endâ when he ignores going after mabel. whoâs both in a swimsuit (perfect for creeping on for a young kid obsessed with her!) and involved in a romantic subplot (jealousy should be acting up SO HARD here right??)
heâs completely ignoring her though in favor of being a brat to- being a little bit obnoxious to some guy. not to mention the fact he clearly takes the rivalry way more serious then stan does and keeps trying to bait him into fighting him or arguing or whatever anywhere at the drop of a hat within âlittle dipperâ and âdreamscapersâ
thatâs not even mentioning at the start of the series heâs a child star who clearly adores the positive attention, and whenever we see him during season 2 heâs in prison getting cozy with a bunch of adult men whoâre giving him a bunch of positive attention and praise (down to the fact that in one of the shorts heâs posing for a painting for one in that cliche âpaint me like one of your french girlsâ pose iirc, and all but fluttering his eyelashes over some guy working out that heâs complimenting).
or the fact that he had to learn his creepy behavior from somewhere, especially to be using the methods so effectively.
OR OR the fact that thereâs at least one memory gun in that house with a kid who has serious coding to being sa-ed (the tickling trigger comes to mind, as someone who was also triggered by that as a kid bc of abuser wording. iâm also including the fact that bud clearly knows he doesnât like that and doesnât listen to his ânoâs 𫢠regardless until gideon lashes out aggressively, which is common in households where a kid has been unknowingly sa-ed but their parents have shit terrible boundaries or are in denial ab the reality of their kidâs triggers. you get aggressive and/or hypersexual kids and guilty, flIghty, and/or permissive parents)
anyways this kid is going to get even worse and even weirder when he hits puberty, and with his luck with being creepy heâll hit it early or even has already. the only difference now is that heâs not going to be going after folks just a little bit older than him. heâs probably looking for someone much much older, or at least isnt in denial about it anymore.

i know iâm super into exploring how fordâs approach to stan could be read as obsessed and creepy after the memory gun especially with stancest contexts andâŚ
i need to write a series of fics exploring that whole âisnât it a little fucked up that stanfordâs first move after wiping his brain is to try to isolate stanley from his support system?â and really run with that. hopefully in a pretty hurt/comfort format.
people noticing that, and keeping stan back where heâs safe and around familiar people and familiar locales. soos feels like the sort to speak up. and thus ford is pushed into manipulating stan in the background, obsessed and possessive and jealous.
he isnât even allowed to caretake for to long, heâs to prone to getting frustrated when communicating is difficult so⌠the arguments with a fairly memory-blighted stan are pretty intense.

but thatâs the problem. ford can use that. ford can use a lot of things. and not only is stan vulnerableâŚ. heâs mailable.
ford can turn him into whatever he wants, save impact from the other parties in the shack.
and⌠well. hm. he can do something about that.
out sailing would create a completely blank canvas for ford to build his masterpiece relationship without any outside hands interfering and telling him the truth things to upset him

but god i need more of ford pursuing stan because of sheer ego. he looks so much like him, heâs fordâs literal twin. and heâs got the smarts to match, even if it has to be put down in order for ford to feel like he properly shines. and with the thirty years obsessing over getting ford back, stanâs an easy target to rope in for a good good ego stroke. stanâll always come when called, even if he says he wonât, always be behind ford.
more of ford obsessing over their dynamic and everything stan has done for him but in a Weird Way. a genius and his mirror image, a man and his shadow, two partners in crime - one always more hidden then the other, but never clear which is which, and whoâs hiding whatâŚ

especially because it already sorta reads like that, with stan dealing with side effects of The Gun and ford being in charge of teaching him about their past and then coaxing him out onto a boat in the middle of nowhere (ALREADY so sus to me in stuff, as someone with memory issues)
it only needs to be the two of them, only ever needs to be the two of them; facing the world together out on a boat, a researcher and his adventuring brother in his shadow looking for love thatâll never work out and treasure that wonât ever compare to spending time with his Amazing Brother. always with himâŚ
