i would absolutely love to write bigjitsu or general Rise fics, the problem is, i like, have terrible memory of the order of events so i would have to rewatch the show to be accurate in my fics, and i would, but i dont think i have the time for that, bc im working on a few other fics in different fandoms that are giving me trouble. (and also rewatching merlin, and re-reading one of the asoiaf (a storm of swords) for Reasons)

the trouble being that i cannot commit for the life of me. like, i will have an idea. i will have an outline. and i will have a sloppily put together few paragraphs. and then months will pass and that will be it. its also like, to keep me engaged, i cannot be brainrotting abt the fic ideas or the otp myself, like, i need to be in constant "oh and x happened and what do you think abt y" like, feedback and such, but i mean, theres not a lot of bigjitsu ppl ik out there.

listen i LOVE lou jitsu and big mama and im so thrilled that there are people out there who love them too. i could talk abt them ALL DAY its just real life gets in the way and drags me away from my fandoms for a bit

I too am a twenty something who's too invested but god they are just so special in my heart

its so hard to find some bigjitsu fics that focus on them-or at least feature them-without delving into baron draxum/lou jitsu or big mama x baron draxum x lou jitsu, which i know is a lot of people's otp/ot3, and thats fine, but its just not something i personally ship, so i tend to filter them out, which, honestly doesnt leave much else

if you do find any yoshi/big mama fics out there id love some recs, the few ive read, you probably have to, but let me link them anyways

oh anon i am PICTURING ALL THAT AND LOVING IT!! see, you said snowy morning, and so i am picturing this through the lens of spiders not being able to thermoregulate and also entering a diapause phase during the winter.

Though Big Mama accepts his absence, she misses him, and Lou Jitsu happily makes it up to her by cuddling with her later that day with nothing to prematurely tear him away. There's no lighthearted, sleepy arguing this time. Still, Big Mama drapes her legs around him just to make sure he stays.

See, it was kind of tricky, especially as I definitely think big mama, as a yokai, has lived a long life. The spider yokai Jorōgumo develops magic powers and begins to feed on human prey after reaching 400 years of age. So she’s gotta be older than that.

The squashes a bug/screams about the bug had the funniest potential considering what type of yokai she is, but eventually I decided on leaving em pretty much in the middle. Neither are scared of the bugs, but neither squashes them much either bc big mama eats them sometimes.

As for the relationship experience, I feel like, as someone whose lived a long life, I think she’s had her fair share of flings. It’s just, she’s never cared for someone the way she cares about Lou Jitsu and he’s the one person in her life she’ll think she’s actually gonna miss when she’s gone. Jorōgumo tend to prey on their lovers, eating them/draining them when they’re done. But she met Lou Jitsu and couldn’t help but want him to stay. So while having relationships isn’t new to her, the type of relationship she has with Lou Jitsu is.

And yeah I totally agree! I need to check to see who won the overall polls, if it’s Leo and Donnie ima laugh because that’s the only thing i can do at this point. Can you imagine if the characters who aren’t twins win a twin poll? But we can’t underestimate the power of fandom

i love those aus. big mama and lou jitsu really did just capture my attention, idk, i love tragic ships, i love doomed by the narrative ships, i love it when there is betrayal and hurt and complexities but none of that changed anything bc at then end of it, you know, the love was still there and will always be there.

(yes, this is me losing my mind over will scarlet and anastasia from ouatiw once again, my middle school obsession has come back full force)

it absolutely would change so much! you're right! the turtles may not have existed, or they might have some other way! i love this one au that i've seen floating around tumblr (i believe it was @tblsomedoodles family web au) where the kids are lou jitsu's and big mama's (so half-yokai) but baron daxum experiments on the kids when they're young, and mutates them into the turtles they are now, and lou jitsu into the rat man he becomes. (i do believe the big mama/lou jitsu is a past thing in that au, which allows for a canon compliant-ish path at times, one that is so interesting to see unfold)

i love that! i love all the different ways the turtles could have happened. i love aus where big mama and lou jitsu got married, but baron daxum got his hands on lou jitsu anyways, kidnapping him and mutating the turtles. the other day i was thinking of an au where after a battle nexus, when lou jitsu is getting checked over at the medics (a routine thing) baron daxum bribes one of the medics into getting him a sample of lou jitsu's DNA (or he just steals it) and mutates the turtles anyways.

i think they were both pretty big on physical touch, quality time, and words of affirmation. i think they both hyped each other up all the time and genuinely looked forward to spending time together, be it cuddled up on the couch watching tv, dancing, etc.

i do believe that lou jitsu favored acts of service while big mama was big on gifts.

(my mind just went aha how messed up is it that fighting in the arena could be an act of service from lou jitsu to big mama, while big mama could misconstrue it as her gifting lou jitsu an opportunity to improve his fighting prowess, offer him a challenge, and share the spoils of the battle nexus with him)
